I read in one of the threads that you can't mix tramadol and antidepressants. Is this true? What are the risks?
My Dr. has me on both - I am trying to very slowly cut back on the Tram. I pill every week. I know it is painfully slow - but it is all I am able to do right now. I am working on alternative pain management methods, and getting the courage up to dump the pills once and for all.

I tapered successfully and I had EXTREME fatique, RLS,anxiety, hot and cold sweats and chills, and depression, I did not vomit at all, so I can't comment on that. By slowly tapering each week I was able to do all my functions and I knew I did not feel particularly well but to other people it was not noticeable. I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern. The seem to occur as a cluster, meaning all symptoms occur together and come on suddenly.

The development of a potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome may occur with use of tramadol products, including ULTRAM ER, particularly with concomitant use of serotonergic drugs such as SSRIs, SNRIs, TCAs, MAOIs and triptans, with drugs which impair metabolism of serotonin (including MAOIs) and with drugs which impair metabolism of tramadol (CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 inhibitors). This may occur within the recommended dose.
Hi. I hope this forum is still active. I and my husband are both addicted to Tramadol. It happened when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and my husband with multiple sclerosis about 2 years ago. We want to stop this horrible drug; it is taking over our lives. It’s not helping us with the pain, we just taking it so to not get the bad withdrawal symptoms. I have appointment with my doctor June 6, I want to tell him about Suboxone. Anyone has used suboxone to help with withdrawal symptoms?
it is now friday the 16th of august, 1 week later and i am still feeling strange, not myself upstairs. i spoke to a tramadol addiction expert and they told me it could possibly of caused a chemical imbalance? is this a possibility? i have never taken tramadol before in my life, 18 years of age, small build.
