Avatar f tn I read in one of the threads that you can't mix tramadol and antidepressants. Is this true? What are the risks? My Dr. has me on both - I am trying to very slowly cut back on the Tram. I pill every week. I know it is painfully slow - but it is all I am able to do right now. I am working on alternative pain management methods, and getting the courage up to dump the pills once and for all.
Avatar n tn m so impatient that I may just take the Suboxone right now and find out for myself. Scary! If my arms and legs start going insane (more than they already are) I'll be back to let everyone know not to ever take Suboxone so soon after taking Tramadol.

This may occur within the recommended dose.
Business man2 The human body develops tolerance to the analgesic effects of Tramadol. That means, on regular use of Tramadol, your body gets used to it and you will need more of the drug to induce the same level of pain relief. The most dangerous side effects of Tramadol are respiratory depression , since it can shut down your breathing, and its ability to cause seizures. If the patient is taking certain medications for depression like Zoloft, it might cause a serious interaction called Serotonin Syndrome.
Avatar m tn I tapered successfully and I had EXTREME fatique, RLS,anxiety, hot and cold sweats and chills, and depression, I did not vomit at all, so I can't comment on that. By slowly tapering each week I was able to do all my functions and I knew I did not feel particularly well but to other people it was not noticeable. This is what I experienced, go back and read through Emily's journal, it is a tramadol forum and read through others people's journey's.

But my problems is more cramping under my sternum, it becomes in the realm of 7-8 on a 1-10, pain scale. So I see no reason to take it, cramping seems to be different to me than nausea and vomiting, although at times my ribavirin does not want to stay down, this issue is also a relatively new problem.
Avatar f tn I also take gabapentin. Three weeks ago I stopped temazepam and tramadol. I am taking zolpidem every night now and continue gabapentin 3x a day. I don't crave either of the meds I quit, but I have been experiencing inability to concentrate, ringing in my ears, vomiting, blurry vision, sweating, confusion, anxiety and mood swings. The symptoms wax and wane and I can't find a pattern. The seem to occur as a cluster, meaning all symptoms occur together and come on suddenly.

Avatar f tn Hi. I hope this forum is still active. I and my husband are both addicted to Tramadol. It happened when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and my husband with multiple sclerosis about 2 years ago. We want to stop this horrible drug; it is taking over our lives. It’s not helping us with the pain, we just taking it so to not get the bad withdrawal symptoms. I have appointment with my doctor June 6, I want to tell him about Suboxone. Anyone has used suboxone to help with withdrawal symptoms?

Avatar m tn He was at the vet on Monday and they just took his bandage off and handed me Betadine and said to rinse the wound with that once a day, and he is probably vomiting from the meds. If it continues, we may call a vet. Thanks.
Avatar m tn it is now friday the 16th of august, 1 week later and i am still feeling strange, not myself upstairs. i spoke to a tramadol addiction expert and they told me it could possibly of caused a chemical imbalance? is this a possibility? i have never taken tramadol before in my life, 18 years of age, small build.
Avatar n tn Metabolism of tramadol and M1 is reduced in patients with advanced cirrhosis of the liver resulting in a larger area under the serum-concentration-versus-time to curve tramadol and longer tramadol and M1 elimination half-lives (13 hrs. for tramadol and 19 hrs. for M1). In cirrhotic patients adjustment of the dosing regimen is recommended (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).
Avatar m tn A lot of PM docs use this for patients to take all day long, every day. My employer and doc tried to put me on Ultram ER and I refused to take it. Good luck and if you need any suggestions for the d-tox, let me know and I will check.
Avatar m tn It is completely possible and I truly believe tramadol should be tapered. Slow and steady is the way to go. You do have to commit to a taper and it is hard work but it does help when you taper all the way down.
