Avatar f tn About 2 weeks ago I had an acupuncture session, en left with a pain that is still there. I have acupuncture quite often, and although it's usually a bit painful (I'm very sensitive to needles) it usually does help. Last time I went to the therapist for treating injuries in my feet, he put a needle in my wrist, between the thumb and the lower arm (between scaphoid and radius).

Avatar f tn I sometimes experience shoulder pain, pain radiating to my left breast and tingling pain in my thumb. I don't know if taking vitamin B12 and using ice and cold patches will be good for you but they certainly help me. Maybe you can ask your doctor before trying. I hope and pray for your fast recovery.
571042 tn?1271447141 He tapped 4 needles into my belly and one into my hand (between the forefinger and thumb) and I stayed there for 20 minutes. Then he did reflexology on my feet, which basically means he rubbed my feet, for a few minutes. Anyways, I haven't really had much time to figure out if it helped or not...but hopefully after the final 3rd session I will know either way and I can fill you in. It was very interesting that is for sure!

Avatar f tn How about acupuncture? Search for a doctor (MD) that does it and you may have a better experience. I get relief right away. Also, maybe being off some of the meds for a while may help to clean out the system - rebound may be an issue. Even OTC meds can give rebound.
1925822 tn?1333705617 Wow Irislita, I think you just met with an angel....So sorry to hear that youre in that much pain! I hope the acupuncture works for you!!
Avatar f tn s acupuncture. You have to rub the webbing between your index finger and thumb. Rub it in a circular motion until you start feeling contractions. Take small breaks to see if contractions continue on there own and count how many you get also. Good luck ladies (: P.S. Must be 36 weeks and up!!!
Avatar n tn The middle 3 fingers are supplied by to the C7 nerve root, which is between C6-C7. I'll bet your MRI shows this as the level of greatest degeneration, possibly with secondary degeneration at C5-6 and C7-T1. This is likely a NECK problem, NOT carpal tunnel. If you're not having THUMB numbness as well (test the middle of the thumb on the palm side and compare to the other by light touch). If they feel the same, it is your neck.
974371 tn?1424653129 I was actually referred for acupuncture by and ENT doctor. I had never been and was skeptical. Went to a good one here in town (who is also an MD). Due to all the mouth/throat issues, I now deal with anxiety. I can't necessarily say I notice any more saliva production but it has helped with anxiety. Unfortunately, as this one doctor was an out of service provider, I had to switch to another acupuncture doctor. I can't say I get the same positive effects from this latest one.
Avatar n tn Tenderness in the lower extremities of the sensitive points in the use of zak acupuncture, through a lot of stimulation of acupuncture, pain can be relived due to improve blood circulation. ② in the spinal cord ,stimulation of acupuncture: zak acupuncture can stimulate the nerve root area and adhesion area of soft tissue, can mobilize the body's self-regulatory function and immune function, the tissue injury can be repair , eliminate aseptic inflammation and eliminate symptoms.
Avatar f tn I tried ever imaginable way to get rid of it from massage, acupuncture, cupping, therapy massage, pain pills ( strong doses) steroid injection, Botox...the list goes on and on. But a few days ago my sister told me about an herb that Dr Oz talked about ( I know Dr Oz???, I was skeptical too) I tried it and the first ONE I took relieved the terrible tension in the muscles in my head, neck and shoulders by 80%. Now just days after I am 95% better.
Avatar f tn sorry, I have just started acupuncture. I have not had to take pain meds at all this week.. I had my 1st appointment on Mon. I was very skeptical at 1st.. but I do feel better.. I am a daily headache sufferer for over 6 yrs.. 40 yr old mom.. have also done many of the things you all listed.. Try it... try it b4 botox... acupuncture is 100% safe.. ya never know it may work for you too.
Avatar f tn acupuncture is reducing the pain and helping with movement but pain is a sign of disease and acupuncture is masking the pain not really treating the cause.
Avatar m tn I'm glad your getting some relief. Can you tell me specifically what sx it has helped you with? My daughter has capal tunnell and has tried steroids and pain meds but no relief. She has been receiving acupunture treatments for the last several months and swears by it - no more pain or the possibility of surgery for now. Her acupuncturist told her if she continues with treatment she will likely never need surgery.
Avatar f tn Thanks for the note and for mentioning acupuncture.
1274661 tn?1301868321 I am shocked and scared at this point having never heard of this before today. I usually go to a chiroprator for my neck pain and read on here that that is not a good option. I am scheduled for acupuncture tomorrow and would like to know if this is OK and if anyone has tried it for the pain. Thanks so much for reading. I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me once this sinks in and I talk to my Neurologist.
903476 tn?1242237037 Very helpful thank you, I did go see a doctor and shes 99% sure it's tendonitis and this is just the first time it has ever become inflamed. She has has sent me for X-rays I will be getting tomorrow and she wants me to see a physiotherapist. She wont tell me 100% till she runs more tests but between the ice and heat sand of course the Tylenol the pain is gone but now I'm feeling pain in my left thumb.
Avatar f tn I have done the carpel tunnel wrist test positions that my general prac taught me when I was having neuropathy and urgent care tried to say it wa carpel tunnel. Anyways long story short, no pain when I do this position. Only pain when pressure is applied. I did nothing to injury it and I'm right handed so I'm unsure what to think of it. The only thing that is different is that i have been sick with a flu bug that turned into a cold. I don't have a fever anymore just congestion.
Avatar m tn My thumb is not bruised or swollen but I have shooting pain when I bend it. I can bend it all the way but it shoots pain and it hurts in between the two joints. I have tried icing and wrapping it but nothing has helped and it has been nine days. My hand is also very cold but like I said before it is not bruised or swollen.
