My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?

Tamiflu is in no way safe during pregnancy. The risks outweigh the benefits I'm pretty sure.its class c. I had flu last January 7 months pregnant and they couldn't give me anything. But tell me to stay hydrated!!

OB says to take Tamiflu and start today, but Tamiflu is not recommended for pregnancy based on unknown reactions to unborn children. Hubby and I don't know what decision is the best for us. Any opinions? The prescription is waiting for me...just so scared either way. I am leaning towards taking my chances and not taking it, but that is not the recommendation. What if I harm my baby by taking it? What if I do by not taking it??

About a year ago, I had a flu-like illness (fever, chills, body aches) and I went to an Urgent Care Center and was given TamiFLU, although I was not swabbed for the flu. The next week I woke up to get ready for work, but when I stood up I fell straight to the ground from severe dizziness. My vision seemed blurry and double, I had a low grade fever (100.3F), nausea, and a debilitating headache erupted.

30 weeks pregnant, has anyone ever took tamiflu while pregnant? Any side affects to you or your child after birth?

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.

My four-year-old grandson, who has leukemia, was just diagnosed with the flu despite having the shot this year. I also had the shot prior to my diagnosis. Obviously it doesn't cover strain B, which is what he has. My husband and I kept him until this morning so we have been exposed big time. They did not get it, AND when one of them went for the Tamiflu, the pharmacy was out! so, the little one did missed the window for the tamiflu. Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.

m 24 weeks today, Been sick with the flu b virus for over a week, Tamiflu made me feel worse, diarrhea, vomiting been to the ER 3 times in the past 6 days, today I get a call from my ob's office stating I need to be on meds for Strep B they found in my urine culture. I never even heard of this, so I Google it, now I'm more concerned than ever for my baby. Has anyone else heard or personally experienced this?

Get to a doctor and get a tamiflu prescription asap if you test positive. It took me almost a month to recover.

I have been so miserable for a whole week now. There is no relief and at times I feel like I'm dying. Yes, thanksgiving week, my son had the flu. I was so sick and was sure I caught it too, but I could only take tylenol and Tamiflu. Drink lots of liquids. Other than that, you're literally going to have to sweat it out. Hope you feel well soon.

I just got out of the hospital last week after getting a virus and being dehydrated, and not even two days later my hubby started coughing and running a fever, the minute the fever started I got a bag and packed my stuff and went to my moms till he got to a doc. My doctor started me on tamiflu when he got his results back just to be safe so I dont get it!!!! Also I am not allowed to go around my husband for 5-7 days.
