Common Questions and Answers about Taking lunesta in the day

lunesta

Avatar m tn You've come so far. You don't want to give up now. That's EXACTLY how I was yesterday. I was so hyped up at how great I felt the days before and then it all set me back. I toyed with every scenario in my head and it made me crazy and hated myself. Finally I just got up, cranked the music(and I mean major crankage). Did the dreaded task of taking down all my Christmas decorations. I even forced myself out to run some errands. Every song I heard reminded me of a memory.
Avatar f tn I tried melotonin and valerian root, the valerian helped with me falling asleep but I don't stay asleep for more than 3-4 hours at night. I took the Lunesta last night and was out for 8 full hours but I am a little scare to take it. So tonight I'm not gonna take it and maybe ill just take it every other day. But see that's how I started with the tramadol just one here and there for back pain then I was up to taking 12 a day.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
454795 tn?1205936319 I took lunesta myself, and it also gave me a horrible taste in my mouth, but that's one of the side effects of the lunesta. my husband took it b4 & he didnt have the bad taste, but i sure did! it was ughhh, but i fell asleep shortly after!!!
327369 tn?1326119908 I don't have the problem. Please post your thyroid test results and reference ranges. What thyroid meds are you taking and what is daily dose?
1355301 tn?1287967641 I actually found that when I tried Lunesta (or had to switch to it from my normal Ambien because I was in the hospital and they only use Lunesta there) - that I had the same thing happen to me. As soon as I was able to go back to my normal Ambien, it stopped. I wonder if it's a side effect of the Lunesta... but maybe not since you said taking the Lunesta actually helped the situation for you.
Avatar m tn t know as much about what to do about the Lunesta, except to say that taking sleep medication for a long time usually gives you worse insomnia, not better, but I'm not as familiar with the withdrawal problems with it. Going on neurontin might help, but if your goal is to stop playing with GABA by getting off the Xanax, the neurontin will present the same problems over time -- it's shooting pure GABA into your brain.
Avatar f tn This is my day 11! I never thought last week I would be here today typing about 11 days clean. I slept till six this morning. My goal tonight is no melatonin. If I'm up, I'm up. I praying very hard to my god for strength to get through the RLS in my arms. I know it can't be taken away, that is something that only time will fade, but I just want strength to not lose my mind when it sets in. I'm thinking it should be over soon.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
Avatar n tn It took a couple nights to fall asleep naturally after taking the lunesta but I finally did and slept all nite. I am actually awake now by 8. I mean wide awake. I dont know what to do with myself with so much time awake during the day.
1000729 tn?1253365050 5mg of the klonopin but he wants me using it during the day and then the Lunesta at night.... Tried it last night and ended up using the klonopin anyways..... Oh well..... I'm thinkin it's just to early to try and use a sedative like Lunesta to tame the beast anyways.... I am going to keep with the klonopin for the next few nights and give it another try just to see..... It's all about trial and error as it really seems like some things work for some that don't for others...
Avatar n tn Ambien is available in 5mg dosage...might be the right thing for you if you are splitting the 10mg ones in half.
1102799 tn?1269237714 yes our friend took Lunesta and his wife found him a couple of nights walking in the house in the middle of the night, he had no memory of it and did not have this problem with Ambien. Ambien generally gave me a buzz when I took it at night, I would feel euphoric (but no sleepwalking) - I do not have this side effect with Ambien CR. I guess one needs to be careful with all of these sleeping pills!
462361 tn?1207858977 Ive been perscribed it for almost a year now cause ive always had problems sleeping mainly insomnia but would lunesta push any button for my past addiction? As in the percocets?? Just wondering.. seems like RLS and twitching is EVERYONES problem here =/ buhh when will it stopppppp!!!!!!
Avatar f tn s great we are booked until April. I actually have money in checking acct. for the first time in ages.lol Talk to ya later.
266660 tn?1189755834 Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.
Avatar m tn Trazadone is a great med that helps with sleep and it will also help w/anxiety the next day after u take it.I remember taking them when I was taking like6-8mg of xanax a day and I quit and took the trazadone to help w/sleep cause benzo w/d is rough and sleep doesnt come easy.Well to my surprise it helped a lot with not feeling like I was gonna jump out of my skin. The only thing is for me((maybe cause I needed it so badly)I slept9+hours the1st few times I took it).
Avatar n tn 00am in the morning every day. Then it got worse were now I can not sleep on my own at all. I am having to take sleeping pills to sleep. I tried Ambien, Ambien CR, Lunesta, and amitriptyline. Each medicine would only let me sleep for four hours a night. So I am taking the Lunesta right now. But it is very hard functioning during the day as I am very fatigued. My body previously was use to getting 8 hours of sleep a day.
526311 tn?1229286330 okay so I've been clean from opiates for two days. Woohoo, right? But I've been taking a lot of ambien and lunesta that I had, sometimes enough to get high. SO they arn't my drug of choice but Im still technically using right? Its just really hard for me to C/T EVERYTHING. I don't know what to do. My boyfriend thinks I'm doing good just because I threw all the percs out. I feel so guilty...again.
Avatar n tn I get better quality sleep and it feels more natural with lunesta. The nausea may just be a side affect of ambien. I love lunesta but do to the cost, I usually end up with generic ambien. Lunesta's patent has not expired yet.
Avatar m tn Hello Matt,I see you are taking herbs for your treatment that is all I am treating the hepititis c virus I am battling.I will not go with any drug treatments because they will not cure the virus.Try these herbs also Liver 52,hepacure,liversupport which have guaranteesand go to www.godsremedy.com.
Avatar n tn For the last fev days, ever since we are using humidifier I have a metallic taste in my mouth; the strongest is always in the morning; my husband just turn on house humidifier and I wonder if this is just coincident, or it does have something to do with the humidifier... furnice, and humidifier are working more during the night, that would explain, but is so strange... anybody has any idea?
Avatar f tn You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.
Avatar n tn On my days off of work, I try not taking anything and just sleep in the next day. I have also tried Melatonin and Valerian Root. They are natural sleep aids. I havent had much luck with them. The Lunesta doesnt cause the weird behaviors for me that Ambien sometimes causes. If I dont go to sleep right away with Ambien, I tend to do odd things. Its like sleep walking but Im not fully asleep. I remember bits an pieces of things the next day. I hope things get better for you.
Avatar f tn He suggested Lunesta and it seemed to work enough to get atleast 6hrs of sleep and felt well rested the next day. since the new health laws went in to effect I unfortunately went through pdocs after doc because they would leave the practice. So, I end up with the last/current one, seems she got a wild hair and decided, (this past Monday) the Lunesta and Addrall was making my Brain like Jelly???? Told me if I did not believe her I could 'Google' it.
Avatar f tn if you go cold turkey off xanax it may result in seizures. im not sure about ambien but more people will be on during the day time 2morow, i recommend typing a response during the day tommorow so that it brings your question to the top of the list or start a new one tommorow.
