I was told by a doctor I might have a chest infection so she put me on 500mg of amoxicillin three times a day. I'm also on diazepam for muscle spasms and anxiety. I cannot remember is she said it was ok go take them both together.
If ok to take together this will put my mind at rest and stop me panicing.

This is an interesting dilemma, because Amoxicillin and Aciphex are sometimes used together to treat certain types of recurrent stomach ulcers associated with the H. pylori bacteria in the digestive tract. The irony is, if you have ulcers and take Aciphex alone, the Aciphex could make the symptoms worse. Clearly something changed after taking the antibiotics, and now your ally in heartburn control has become your enemy.
I skipped taking it on some days and all together for a month since it was not helping the symptoms. A year later, I was prescribed 1000 mgs of Valtrex per day which I took regularly. Since I continued to have negative igGs I was told that I do not have HSV. My question is about stomach tenderness. Is a tender stomach normal with a peptic ulcer? My entire stomach area, from just below my breasts, down to my navel, is very tender to the touch. my partner who i met has been on Valtrex for a couple of years and the pass year we had unprotected sex. I went and got tested and my blood work came back negative. If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono?
Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage.
I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst.

Got test that day for gonorrea and clyamidia and they gave me shot and pills well I put neosporin and a band aid on them and a couple hours later I took the bandaid off and tiny red bumps were around the sores now and they were irritated and it inflamed one spot. It's been now about 10 days and still have these symptoms got a culture test done two days ago for herpes and was given valtrex to try during the mean time.
Yes, you should start taking it 3-5 days before you see your partner and take it as prescribed through the duration of your time together.
I don't think this is recommended, but I'm not sure I'd be compliant in a situation like yours during the times I was away from the partner. I don't generally use medication unless I have a negative partner, so I would find it kind of annoying to have to take the stuff constantly when I'm going for long stretches between having sex.

Hi there, I visited a sexual health clinic the other day due to an outbreak of sores in my genital area. The doctor suspects herpes and has prescribed me Valtrex as well as run a test of the sores themselves (I am awaiting the results). My concern is that this outbreak is the 5th in a serious of various infections I have had over the past few weeks, scaling various areas of my body and produced by fungal, viral and bacterial infections.
we have over 20 years of info on taking daily suppressive therapy with acyclovir non-stop. valtrex is an acyclovir prodrug and we have no reason to think that it's any less safe. we have over 15 years of info on taking valtrex suppressively non-stop now too. there are no long term side effects. no reason to stop taking it unless you want to. why have more ob's than you have to is my motto plus if your partner is negative, it helps protect them too.

Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD.
My question is, can you tell me what if any STD the Amoxicillin would cure if I did contract one from my friend?

ve been taking 500mg of Valtrex every night and plan to do so for the next year to year and a half as suggested by my doctor. I have had no other outbreaks since the first one. My doctor explained to me that taking Valtrex on a regimen would help the virus become dormant. t had an outbreak since around June, upon that outbreak I started taking the valtrex. The last month I ran out and didnt take them for two weeks. I began to take them again for the next 2 weeks and then had sex using a condom with a guy. The condom broke. I had no sign of an outbreak until 3 days after having sex with him. Could this mean that he also had herpes and it triggered an outbreak?
Why did I get an outbreak when I had been taking valtrex for 2 weeks?
After I posted this I talked to the hospital doc about my negativ test result. She didnt think Valtrex had interferred with the results. I have had "herpes symptoms" four months, taking Valtrex last four weeks.
Maybe I could have a new test taken in a couple of weeks when my system is clear of Valtrex? Just to be on the safe side?
Just no it is all too confusing. One doc says: HERPES! The other says: no this is not herpes.
