I have swollen neck glands no pain or fever but do have the discomfort. I have bad seasonal allergies as well as nerve damage caused by an old neck injury.. I need help figuring out if the swelling is caused by the injured nerves or the allergies? I do feel a little relief when I drink lots of hot tea.
My glands on one side of my neck and down the middle of my neck have been very swollen and extremely painful since Wednesday. I have not signs of cold, sinus infection or anything. I have no fever but I can hardly swallow. I have been on antibiotics for 4 days now but it hasn't gotten any better. I had no prior sickness - I just woke up with it on Wednesday morning. I went to an urgent care or Wednesday morning and they gave me antibiotics and motrin- 600 miligrams every 6 hours.
1. Sore neck - my glands are swollen and my neck is actually sore to touch, it hurts to turn my head and when I yawn, cough or sneeze I get a sharp pain in my neck. 2. I have pressure in my ears, my neck, my mouth and my face. 3. I have intermittent feelings of a low-grade fever. They told me I had a sinue infection and gave me a decongestant (can't remember the name) and amoxycillin.
However it's been almost a month that my left neck gland is swollen and sometimes painful. A smaller swelling may exist at the right gland of my neck. I had a CBC exam and it has shown iron deficiency, I think other than that everything else were OK. My GP gave me some iron pills. I have no other symptoms such as fever, fatigue, weight loss or other swollen visible glands but I am very worried as I've done some research over the net and I read all about lymphomas etc.
hI; are the swollen glands behind the ears on each side of the neck? or you mentioned cheeks. If so it could be TMJ but if behind your ears it could also be your salivary glands. See, if they become swollen more often. mention it to your doctor. There is a disease of the salivary glands call sjogrens syndrome. I pray you do not have that.
The glands in my neck (under my jaw) have been swollen for about 4 months now. They have never really hurt. But i've been getting sick (mainly just symptoms of a cold. Runny nose, post nasal drip or a headache a few times. And once i had a sore throat) off and on the whole time. Though, when i do get better i still have mucus that i'm hawking up throughout the day (its usually clear or bright yellow). I've been given antibiotics twice but it mainly just takes away my headaches and stuff.
i am currently being treated for a sinus infection with an antibiotic, nasal spray and allegra d. it is now the 3rd day of treatment and the glands in my neck are visibly swollen and very painful. is this something i should be concerned about??
My issue is that the 2 glands on the sides of my throat are swollen, the one inside my chin is swollen, something small and round below my left ear is swollen and something on the outside of my right ear is also swollen. I do not have a fever and I have not vomited at all, which is symptoms of most disorders that have to do with swollen nodes. They do hurt and actually the one below my left ear itches.
Can GERD cause a fullness feeling in my right ear as well as a swollen gland on the right side of my neck? or is the swollen gland causing the fullness felling in my right ear and on the right side of my neck? Thank you for any help.
When I move my head or get up i feel pain on my neck. I wake up in the middle of the night because of the pain. Is that sinus infection?
the left side if my neck is very and noticibly swollen, at first i thought it was just my glands due to a minor ear infection, as i regularly get them, however since, the pain has spread further down my neck, and is now down to my coller bone and throat, in a morning i cant talk or open my mouth wide enough to eat anything and takes a couple of hours to loosen up.
I noticed that through this process on two glands on the right side of my neck got swollen. My doctor told me to take the anti-biotics and they should go down, however, they are still swollen, I am pretty sure that the bottom one got smaller but not the upper one. I have been feeling dizzy and getting headaches but I also think that I am getting another infection of some sort. 1. Is it possible for glands to stay swollen? 2. Can my sinus problems be causing my other symptoms? Thanks!
When I looked up Hodgkin's, my 10 year old daughter has every symptom for 10 months now such as severe night sweats, fevers, chest pain (she calls it heart burn), trouble breathing, fatigue, EBV +, constant viral infections. Her throat cultures were negative the last 4 times. Her chest pain and trouble breathing are assocoated with her anxiety.
I first saw my doctor in April with swollen glands in my neck I have seen him 3 times since, today being the most recient. The swollen glands NEVER go down. They don't always hurt but it is getting more frequent and severe. My doctor said today that we would try one more antibiotic and steroid pack for 1 week and for me to return for a follow-up that if the "KNOTS" are still there in one week he wants to do a scan.
I woke up today with painful swollen glands on the right side of my neck. Tonight, I can also feel it in my ear, along with the back right side of my tongue. The pain in the glands is so sore, painful to the touch. My ear and tongue are nowhere near as painful. Any ideas or clues? I appreciate any responses :) I am new to this site and the forums, and will fill in my profile soon!
Both of these went away the following day, but I now have a swollen gland in my neck, and under my arm both on the right side. Also, I seem to have another swollen gland in my groin area on the right side bikini line. From what I have read from this site, it would be abnormal for the swelling to appear in multiple locations if this is just a sinus infection. Is it possible that the areas are swelling for different reasons? Could this be a sign of an STD?
since around my 3rd week on triple tx (inc) I've had swollen glands in the back of head/neck and in front of and behind my ears... is this a sx?
I also was at work the other day and one of the physicians i work for walked past me and he actually noticed the lymph nodes swelled on the right side of my neck and he said turn around.....he felt the swollen glands and said "do you have any sinus congetion or had any infections lately? ' I told him no and he said "well that is VERY weird and really should be checked out ASAP" I have also noticed my dark circles under my eyes are out of control and I am a lot more fatigued...
I have had chronic sinus problems my whole life and I almost always have a swollen gland or two when I have a sinus infection. Everything up there is super connected and a sinus infection can affect eyes, vision, facial pain, skin sensitivity, throat, swallowing, ears, hearing,e verything! Swollen lymph nodes typically happen with any infection, but doesn't necessarily mean its something serious. You likely have swollen lymph nodes frequently and never even know!
I don't want to alarm you but swollen glands and enlarged spleen are two of the symptoms I had before I was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. But you don't have any of the other symptoms like fatigue, bruising, or achiness that I had. Did your Dr. run blood tests recently? Wouldn't hurt to have a CBC and BMB just to rule it out. Keep me posted.
I am a 33 year mom who has swollen lymph nodes on the top right of my head and down the right side of my neck with lower back pain, nausea and headaches....could this be a big sinus infection?? I am confused.......and a little scared.....
It is hard to determine what could cause the types of symptoms you are describing. Swollen neck glands are common following drainage from allergy symptoms and infections of the throat and sinuses. These swollen glands do not usually cause pain in the back of the neck. Because the pain in the neck gets better with a hot shower, this may indicate some tension, which is causing the pain that is relieved by heat. The pressure and pain behind your eyes may or may not be related to the sinuses.
I woke up one morning and my jaw was clicking like crazy. All my glands in my face and neck were swollen. My jaw muscles were swollen too, which is what was causing my jaw to click since it couldn't open and close correctly. Stop stressing. The stress will make it worse. Also, you may have allergies. Take some antihistamine and see if anything subsides. Also the white patches that look like tonsillitis, I was told by the eye ear and nose doc that everyone has patches.
Okay, I've just talked myself out of cancer, b/c Advil wouldn't eliminate a tumor, even temporarily. Does anyone have a clue what can cause a sore throat, pink eye, fever, and swollen lymph glands/salivary glands?? My doc had me on a Z-pack for 5 days, and no reprieve. So, I guess it's not bacterial. I am healthy, go to regular checkups and have no real medical history, aside from the sinus/throat issues.
Well, went to see the Washington university professer. He took one look at both my CT scans and said there is absolutly nothing wrong with my sinus cavity. It looks perfect. So I went to see the Dentist. He did a whole x ray panel of all my teeth and guess what? they are perfect. He has referred my to an oral surgeon that I will see on Wed. I am told he can do a Panaramic view of my face.
swollen lymph nodes are an indication of a virus. Have them check your white blood count and also get a mono test. Mono isnt just passed through kissing, but even if you just eat or drink after someone.
I always have and was wondering if anyone else out there that has these swollen nodes in neck also have problems with their teeth and also wondering if problems with teeth (infections and such) could cause the nodes in the back of the neck swell up. Also, the glands in the front of my neck have always been large... these problems I've experienced have gone on for years... So, I'm hoping its nothing serious because, if it is, and I have it for years.... what chance would I have?
So you don't think it's weird that a lot of the glands are swollen even though I'm not really sick with a sinus infection right now?
Hello All, I suddenly got a painfull swollen gland / lymph node under my jaw bone / neck area on only one side. The gland is swollen enough that you can almost notice a difference between each side of my neck. This started last night out of nowhere. The only other symptoms I have is a slightly sore and runny nose but I just got over a sinus infection. Otherwise I feel fine. Why is it only on one side and what could it be?
