Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. A week ago I have unprotected oral sex with a man. He did not ejaculate in my mouth. The very next morning I felt a "tightnes" in my upper neck. The tightness has been persistent ever since. I've looked in the mirror, but can not tell if anything is swollen. If I had to give a yes or no answer to any swelling I would have to say yes. I've read that early symptoms of HIV are swollen glands in the throat.
Still have strange taste in my mouth. I now have swollen glands in my throat/neck on the same side as the extraction was done. Starting to get a little scared. Could I possibly have an infection starting? Or perhaps Dry Socket? I don't have pain opening my mouth, not yet anyhow. I assumed that since the temp bridge was put in place and that my gums had swollen so that the hole wasn't really exposed that the clot would stay in place. Was I wrong in my assumption?
Two days ago my gums suddenly became very swollen and painful, my throat hurts when i swallow, I had a headache and a fever, and the glands on either side of my neck are swollen. There were no symptoms or warning signs, it just happened out of the blue. What is it and how do I fix it? And how long does it take to heal?
My daughter is 20 and for a few days has had very sore lower gums, yesterday she woke up to very swollen and painful glands on one side under her chin , she went to the drs who gave her antibiotics said it could be an infection of her gums, today she is so much pain in her neck and jaw, she's away at uni so I am an anxious mother worried could this be more serious?
both those symptoms cleared up after about 4 days, however as they cleared the glands in my neck swelled up, and resulted in my tonsils becoming very inflamed and excruciatingly painful.
I dont have a fever but throughout the ordeal ive felt run down, hot and clammy. I also have a few spots on my scalp appear that are quite itchy.
in the last 2 days the gums around my front bottom teach have become inflamed and tender.
the left side of the hard palate in my mouth is swollen along the arch of my mouth. today it has spread to my left gums and head. It feels like a shooting pain, and is almost unbearable. I also have a stuffy nose and chest. I cant help but think that this is a sinus infection, and that the pain in my mouth is due to swollen Bollus lymph nodes. but I'm not sure.

Still underarm pain, 5 weeks since it started. Would HIV related gland swelling be more generalised? Ie wouldn't it be likely to have swollen glands in his neck and groin as well as arms?
Are lymph nodes usually detectable by touch? Sight? We cannot feel any individual 'nodes' just a general noticable swelling and pain beneath the arms.
There have been no other symptoms that we can think of.

I first noticed that I had a swollen gland in my neck about a full week ago... I later got a sore throat (so sore that I can hardly eat and have difficulty even swallowing water). I reached a 103 degree fever, had headaches, had nausea, very stiff neck, cold chills.. etc... I got tested for strep and mono and both were negative. Almost all of my symptoms have passed except for my sore throat, but now I am developing a large amount of canker sores...
My 5 year old dachshund has swollen glands in his neck. I checked in other areas and I don't feel anything swollen,just only in his neck. Aside from cancer, I want to know if there's any other infections or anything that he could have. He was checked in November as a check up at the Vet's appointment, and he was fine. But that was in november and it is March now, so there could be something wrong?

Hi, I'm new to all this posting so excuse me if it doesn't make sense, I'm a 28yr old female and I've been suffering from swollen glands which is tender and slightly painful sometimes but not all the time in my neck for over a month now, but also my jaw and ears and behind my ears but no sore throat my doctor is sending me for blood tests but also advised me to see a dentist, I'm starting to worry it could something serious as I like to panic And over think think things since
i assume swollen glands in the neck means inflamed lymph nodes? our 6 yr. old was seen today for a fever and sore throat complaint. the ped. said she has a throat infection and swollen glands and prescribed meds. she did check other areas of her body for glands (at least that is what i think she was feeling for). about 7 weeks ago she had the same thing (tho the whole family passed around a fever/infection). should we be overly concerned that she has been sick like this twice in two months?
I have also had constantly swollen glands at the back left side of the neck and near my left armpit since fall. About 8 months ago I discovered that my dog had swollen glands in her neck. I went to two different vets who took a sample of the cells on THREE different occassions and each time is came up "Suspicious" but not definative. After 1 day of antibiotics the swelling went down by about 75% however never fully reduced.
I notice again that the size has increased and she is not eating as normal and less active.

They did eventually clear up all my symptoms and also the swelling in the neck throat glands and neck glands went away. Sortly after that about 2 weeks later I noticed I had swollen neck glands again but that only lasted a week then went away completely. Early decemeber I noticed my neck glands were swollen again. That followed by a dry throat and small cold that only lasted about 3 or 4 days those symptoms disappeared but my swollen neck glands continued to say.
I initially thought it was a knot in my muscle, but now I have swollen neck glands with no sore throat.
Hello. I'm becoming increasingly worried about swollen glands in my neck. The swelling is located on either side of my neck, roughly half an inch below the mastoid process (these might be the upper cervical lymph nodes but I'm not sure). They can't be seen, but when I feel my neck they feel hard. I've had them now for about three weeks. My only other symptoms: a slight sore throat that comes and goes, and a very infrequent cough.
Unfourtnalty a swollen gland appeared under my neck 2 days ago. There is no pain when I touch it what so ever, I told my father about this and he said I had them as a child swollen glands appearing out of no where with no pain, could this be history repeating its self? Or could this be the first sign of a HIV infection? Please reply back Doc.
3 (Celsius scale), swollen glands in neck and armpits which some of them ache. No nose or throught symptoms.
Had an HIV, HBV, HCV, EBV test - all negative (at about 4 weeks).
I have two questions to ask:
If this is ARS would the HIV test turn reactive by now ( due to I have the symptoms already)?
Do you think I am at risk so I should take the test again in 6 weeks?
Please help me - I am very anxious.
She is not having any trouble drinking, eating or barking and is acting normal and is not squirming when we are feeling her neck to check the glands. This morning she is still swollen and I gave her another dose of benedryl but I am not sure what this could be caused by. Should we take her to the doctor to get antibiotics or see if the Benendryl takes it away completely? Has anyone heard of or experienced something similar with their dogs?
