I first saw my doctor in April with swollen glands in my neck I have seen him 3 times since, today being the most recient. The swollen glands NEVER go down. They don't always hurt but it is getting more frequent and severe. My doctor said today that we would try one more antibiotic and steroid pack for 1 week and for me to return for a follow-up that if the "KNOTS" are still there in one week he wants to do a scan.
I have had swollen glands in my neck for the past 6 months (at least). At first, I thought that my impacted wisdom teeth that were probably getting infected were the cause. I had them out in October and it is now the middle of March and my glands are still swollen. I went to my physician who ordered a cbc, thyroid, and mono tests and everything came back fine. She never could give me an explaination for these symptoms.
I recently went to the doctor for some lumps I found in my neck. I found about 4 or 5 on the right side below my ear. My doctor discovered I also had swollen nodes under my arms and in my groin on both sides. About a year ago I had a CT scan that showed an enlarged spleen. What do you think of these findings? I am very worried. I feel fine and just completed 2 weeks of antibiotics for a sinus infection.
I went to the er on on sunday and my glands were swollen, the ones in my neck and but it's due to an infection caused by my teeth and my glands in my groin area were not swollen and never have been. she said the lump i though was a gland was perhaps a small hernia. And i've been so anxious for weeks and she examined me and said i was fine but in my mind i was already dead, but by the grace of GOD i'm fine and it was all in my mind even though i need to treat my oral infection.
Hi all, I finished treatment on July 27 and the last two weeks I am noticing swollen lymph glands on my neck and underarms. Has anyone else experienced this as an after-effect of treatment. Also, has anyone here ever gotten a one-month-after-treatment PCR? Patience is not a virtue for me.
I always have and was wondering if anyone else out there that has these swollen nodes in neck also have problems with their teeth and also wondering if problems with teeth (infections and such) could cause the nodes in the back of the neck swell up. Also, the glands in the front of my neck have always been large... these problems I've experienced have gone on for years... So, I'm hoping its nothing serious because, if it is, and I have it for years.... what chance would I have?
We are two days into the mystery rash syndrome. Today she is poorly - swollen glands and sore throat, very dehydrated. She had a headache last week but that has gone. She is a student - there has been a case of bacterial meninitis in her block recently but she is showing no sign of stiff neck or ongoing headache. She does not have a significantly raised temperature. Should I just keep closely monitoring or rush to bemused and off duty local GP?
I've been feeling really run down the last few days and today woke up with one side of my neck swollen. The whole side of of my neck is these hard swollen lumps all the way up to under my chin. I'm 99% sure it's swollen glands, but I've never had anything like this before. Only on one side and from my collar bone to my jaw bone. My throat doesn't really hurt and my only other symptoms would be feeling a little tired and waking up with a little blister on my tounge.
she is not diabetic she is constantly catching every bug going all her neck glands are swollen and one under her chin these have been swollen for four weeks now she has a mouth ulcer in her cheek urine culture no infection present but wbc waiting now to see a peadrictrian but i am really concerned for her health as she is just really run down and seems to be getting worse and the blood on urine sample has increased from a trace to a large amount should i take her back to gp or just ride this ou
Hi. Children are more susceptible to infections unlike adults because of an immature immune system. It is possible that your child acquires the infection at school, when she is exposed to a classmate who has an infection. As long as there is a source of infection, your child can easily acquire it. She was diagnosed to have a streptococcal infection after her throat culture. That is easily treated with an antibiotic where streptococcus is sensitive.
(As you might know, that has no added iodine, and neither does the salt in processed foods. In fact, there has been an increase in babies born with thyroid problems since sea salt became popular and mothers were misled that 'natural' is always better.) Anyway, since giving iodine worked (and since she received no treatment for autoimmune thyroiditis), we can assume the goiter arose from thyroid deficiency. The thyroid does not always go down completely after that, btw.
hi there, I would not be that worry, once they started school , all kind of sickness will happen because it is a different enviroment . after a year or so she would be fine. my daughter had the same when she started school the first year but she is doing much better now. it is normal for the first years just because they are mixing with different kids ands yes they will get sick.
Just to say I've had this a few times now, once ended up in A&E due to swollen uvulea(think thats the name) where they popped in some hydrocortisone and gave me piriton type tabs. They seemed baffled but noted my punchbag-like uvulea with some surprise and diagnosed allergic reaction. I was in a friend's spare bed on that occasion so mebbe. Just had another scary one (at home), seems to happen on waking during a doze.
This is a growing problem in our society as a whole, but alarmingly so in our kids. We've got to make sure they are taking in real food and are physically active . Anything with "partially hydrogenated", or "modified, " you pick the oil... palm, coconut, cotton seed, peanut, sunflower….any of them, they shouldn't be ingested.
I woke up one morning and my jaw was clicking like crazy. All my glands in my face and neck were swollen. My jaw muscles were swollen too, which is what was causing my jaw to click since it couldn't open and close correctly. Stop stressing. The stress will make it worse. Also, you may have allergies. Take some antihistamine and see if anything subsides. Also the white patches that look like tonsillitis, I was told by the eye ear and nose doc that everyone has patches.
As of right now $$ wise and all that probably is out of the question. All I am trying to do is figure something out here. The swollen nodes in my neck, the headaches, chest pain, MRI images that I question were looked at enough or not..... I am just trying NOT to have something sneak up and kill me. Especially for the sake of my 18 month old daughter.

I am in my 60's and have only just started to have either a swollen face or, on the last two occasions, a swollen tongue, which all started in September. The first time I had a swollen tongue was 4 weeks ago and I ended up in hospital. I had already taken Piriton but it didn't help. At the hospital they gave me Prednisolone which worked very quickly and I was packed off home with another 2 days supply.
It is because of the chronic irritation in this site could have caused the enlargement of the lingual tonsils and hence the glands in the neck, or lingual thyroid was noticed accidentally during your dental checkup Rather than speculating things, please do consult your ENT/Oral Specialist. Any more doubts you are welcome.
It seems to get hard and be in the shape of a ball on the right side and the left labia gets hard. Its also swollen and full of fluid in the loose skin on the lower end of the vaginal opening. I describe it as feeling like you have a blister. It stings and burns. I have had this happen 3-4 times since dating my bf. This is the first guy its ever happened with. The first time was scary. My vagina was huge, clit huge, libia huge, I was shocked at this thing protruding from my legs.

Dear Lisa, For your own peace of mind, and for your son's sake, I urge you to take him to a BETTER doctor, in a larger town, near you. I think your question about whether to worry about the swollen gland could be answered QUICKLY and ACCURATELY if a BETTER DOCTOR could SEE the swollen gland in person, not over the internet. Sincerely, Concerned lady http://cantbreathesuspectvcd.
It's a little scarier this time because the abscess in the right nostril is so painful and now I have a headache, swollen gland in the left side of my neck, the roof of my mouth on the left side, burning and pain on my let cheek and lip and I have been on Bactrim for about 3 days and applying ointment to the sore. I keep thinking since it's Sunday I want to go to the hospital and get checked but I'll feel like a jerk if there is nothing they can do.

Arm/face pain and neck stiffness may appear due to nerve irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because the nerves that supply the arm also start in the upper cervical spine. Mostly, this kind of pain aggravates after turning head and typically occurs in patients with herniation of cervical disc and in patients with marked arthritis of the upper cervical spine.
I too have this noise in my neck but I now have what I can explain as a hollow sensation in my neck and back of skull. I don’t know what to do as my health is dwindling. I have been getting moving sensations under my skin, unable to walk for long periods of time without my muscles killing me. Then I just happened to realise the soft cartilage in me right ear around my eardrum had totally gone. Also my lip has started to fade.
Now my glands are swollen in the neck and getting slight fevers and it will not go away. She seems to practice safe sex since she was adamant using condom for sex but I did not engage.I am concerned she is a party girl and messes with tourists and may be infected and infected me. I have made contact on her status and she says she is clean and has been tested as part of her work permit, I believe the last 12 months. The symptoms I have are weird and will not clear up.
Last night I applied a warm washcloth to it for about 30 minutes, which made it feel better. Could this be a swollen lymph node, or maybe an ingrown hair? It is located in the area where I shave daily. Any advice would be very appreciated!
