Common Questions and Answers about Sun lip blister treatment

lip

i work in the sun all day everyday, my lip got a blister on it, so i tried chapstick, then my whole lip got blisted, i thought i was alergic, but it is just the bottom lip, it is very painful and will not get better on its own, i went to the er they said maybe it was some sort of staph infection, they gave me acyclovir antibiotics and mupirocin cream, but the cream burns to badly to apply ... please help!!
and a very small blister will appear below the bottom lip, not on it, like the herpes blister. I take an antihistamine, and put different ointments on, (allergy cream makes them sting ) and it goes away in about 3 days...until I go out in the sun again. My physician is puzzled and says my lips definitley look like an allergic reaction ......my question is....what can I put on them to BLOCK the sun completely??
I was told that the sun triggers a reaction that makes my immune system go kaput and I get the blisters, flu like symptoms, and worst of all the fever blisters. My lips are usually covered with blisters that turn into scabs which itch like crazy. BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION. I take zoviraz in the pill form and then also the ointment for my lips (whicht has also helped the blisters on my shoulders and face heal much faster)also zovirax.
I never could tolerate being in the sun or being in the heat when I am on treatment. But, you know what they say, everybody's different. It made me too itchy and rashy.
Hi, I have been getting tiny blisters/prickly heat type things on my face, lips and arms everytime my skin has prolonged exposure to the sun. I am not sure what these are? But, it mostly happens when its extremely cold, windy and specially in sun. My exposed skin turns red, my lips are swollen with allergy and its itchy everywhere. I underwent an allergy test and the dermatologist told that my body has atypical response to common allergens like dust mites and pollen.
I have a pimple like clear round blister inside my lower lip. I'm concerned that it is herpes, a cold sore. It heals but it is still there, it comes out again. Should I be concerned or could it just be a mucocele?

After we have really hot weather or really cold weather a nice sunshiny day will occur and I will get sores on my lips that spread to two or three spots and they hurt like nobodys business or these coldsores or feverblisters caused by the sun bringing out a virus in my system?
Most chronic cheilitis (eczema of the lips) in young women is triggered by some irritation, followed by repeated lip-licking. Trying to heal lips that constantly licked is like trying to heal hands that are washed twenty times a day. On the other hand, telling yourself not to lick your lips is like trying to tell yourself not to smile. So it's tough. I recommend that a culture or biopsy be considered to look for yeast, though that's uncommon.
the other day i went to the pool and came home extremely sun burnt. since then i haven't gone to the pool again and patches of skin on my face have hardened up. Also, my skin has now swelled up making my eyes appear smaller beacuse i am so swelled up. Is this a permanent damage to my face?? How do i heal my face?? I am desperate!
It may help if you avoid conditions that stress your body, such as getting a cold or not getting enough sleep or staying in the sun for long periods of time without applying sunblock. It is important to apply sunblock to your lips and face before prolonged exposure to the sun to help prevent cold sores. Take care and regards.
Cheilitis(Inflammation of the skin on and around the lips)is often seen in atopic dermatitis.Diagnosed by bld test like RAST.Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases.Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful. I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep us posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
Hi, You need to use a moisturising cream or lip balm with a sunscreen. Sun exposure could cause lip discoloration. Drink planty of water to avoid dehydration. Also avoid alcohol and smoking as smoking causes lip discoloration too. Also keep your lips well moisturised at all times. Apply vaseline jelly before sleeping at night. Maintain a healthy diet plan with lots of fruits and vegetables. Take some multi vitamins and mineral supplements.
I am 26 years old and I have been suffering with this condition all of my life and the Doctors do not seem to know what it is. I suffer with blisters that have appeared on my cheeks, lips, eyes, ears, neck and once on my thigh. When they erupt they are very itchy and are not noticeable to look at. This is the most infectious stage- if I touch it at this time it will spread. The next day a cluster of blisters will appear and the area swells immensely.
Skin lesion or rash at the site of exposure may range from redness, rash, papules (pimple-like), vesicles, and bullae (blisters). Treatment is to first identify the trigger factors and then avoid it.You can apply a mild corticosteroid like Desonide, formulated for thin skin. This would even help if this condition is due to eczema. ref:http://www.myonlinewellness.com/topic/adam1000869 ref:http://www.eatwell.gov.
I do also have the tiny barely visible forsyce's spots directly on my upper lip. I have never had cold sores or fever blisters before. This feels a little ridiculous, but I know that a powerful enough imagination and an overactive mind can sometimes only be put to rest by some sort of professional opinion. THank you for your time.
Hi, You need to drink plenty of water and also keep your lips well moisturized. Apply a medicated lip balm with a sunscreen to avoid damage due to the sun. Eat a healthy diet and replace it with any deficient vitamins and minerals. If your lesions still persist, it would be best to see a skin specialist for a confirmed diagnosis and to rule out any other cause of the spot. Are you allergic to any substances? What symptoms do you have other than the lip lesion? What is your age?
i was infected by tinea pedis (athletes foot) about 6wks ago after visiting a treatment centre for injured people, it started as an itchy toe, then progressed to a blister forming on the bottom of the toe, then after busting it & treating the wound, it became itchy again then 2 days later the blister returned then my 2nd toe got infected & got so itchy i scratched it with my hand...
This has been talked about before if its related to treatment. Others have gotten blisters on their lips and in their mouth during treatment. They never had them as a kid and never got them before treatment.....and haven't had them after treatment.
I had a recurring rash on elbows for sometime and found it to be granuloma annulare, had it two years and it has subsided and disappeared with the help of kenalog and patience. Now, Its my lips. Ive always been paranoid of fever blisters, cold sores etc, knowing it is Herpes I or II if from genital/oral conversion. Very very sore, peeling after small tiny blisters pop, ooze, and then touching it peels the skin. To the touch, forget it, Burns, hurts....
I have also tried pulse laser and carbon dioxide laser treatments which worked for a few months then it came back... I have been told not to use the hydro cream for long periods as its a steroid and can have long term effects on the skin, but at the moment i'm willing to take the risk! I hope this helps a bit.
They are small yellowish-white granules on the inner surface and border of the lips. Treatment of Fordyce spots includes CO2 laser or electro desiccation, TCA chemical peels(temporary treatment),diathermy or laser vaporization. For your dry lips, avoid licking the lips as saliva evaporates quickly resulting in them being drier than before. Drink plenty of water and take multivitamin supplements(esp vit B) and do not apply lipstick or other cosmetic products for some days.
Neosporin daily lip treatment, Palmers lip balm, Aquaphor, and Blistex lip renewal seem to help but don't completely alleviate the symptoms. Neosporin night treatment, carmex, vasoline, chapstick, burts bees, other blistex have all made the symptoms worse! With all of those products I have experienced the red swollen, peeling lips. Please keep posting anything that you've tried that helps!
Change lipstick to rule out allergies. Apply lip balm with sunscreen before venturing into the sun. Use a humidifier indoors whenever possible. Increase water intake in the winter months to further hydrate the skin.
He said that if I didn't use Abreva right away, it could blister and that I was lucky it did not. If you have this dry spot on your lip that feels like a piece of tape is stuck to it, go to your local drugstore right away and get some Abreva. Good luck.
I also get fever blisters all over my lips. I used to think that it was the fever blisters that made me so sick but now I'm pretty sure that it is the little itchy pustules that are making me sick and attacking my immune system which causes the herpes outbreak on the lips. The outbreaks can last a from 1 month to 5 months. Nobody else seems to mention swollen glands or sick feeling, is it only me? I've been trying to find out what this is for years and years. How come no doctors replies?
When the swelling dissipates on my feet and fingers I actually shed the top layer of skin around the swollen area over a period of days, like a blister on the mend. The lip and neck swelling don't itch, but the finger and feet swelling becomes an insane itch without any relief from over the counter anti- itch products. Taking an anti-histamine slows down the whole process. I'm worn out from this process..........
I have found that when I eat popcorn, the symptoms hit me (but not always). I don't eat popcorn anymore, so I don't know what causes the lip pain and little blisters on the lip tissue. Any help out there? I am getting tired of this problem. Do I need some type of nutritional supplement? Am I deficient in a vitamin? I am a female in my late 30's and I am on the Atkins program, so I haven't had any bread.
I have a rash over both of my lips, not outside them. The rash is small blisters. There are no "sores" to speak of - the entire lip skin area, top and bottom, is covered, although the blisters are more localized in the area where the lips meet when my mouth is closed. My lips are very painful and swollen today. I have had this condition for the last three days although it is much worse today. There is a little bit of pus when the blisters break.
