Hi there,
I am a 29 year old female - and about 7 months ago I stopped using Nuvaring. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. It has also been a bit over 6 months since I've had a period, which is beginning to freak me out.
I've been on nuvaring for seven years. Recently my husband and I have decided to ttc. I took my nuvaring out when I was supposed to, had my normal period that I'm supposed to. I was wondering how long it would take for the hormones to get completely out of my system? We were thinking of trying by the end of the summer.
I was on Nuvaring and was always regular (even when not on BC), I stopped Nuvaring Oct of 2015 due to having bad migraines, my gyn and I wanted to see if it was the cause. I recently stopped using Nuvaring after about 11 months. Over the last month I have gained about 6 pounds with no change in my diet and a big increase in my exercise. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, everytime I get on the scale, I have gained more weight! Now, today, I got my 1st "non-BC" period and it is extremely heavy, which is very unusual for me. Has anyone else had weight gain issues after stopping BC? If so, how long did it take for those issues to resolve?
I was on the Nuvaring for a couple years and when I came off of it I had all the classic signs of pregnancy. I took 4 pregnancy tests but they all came up negative. I told my aunt I was convinced I was pregnant and she told me that when she had come off of the Nuvaring, she experienced the exact same thing. She said it lasted about 3 weeks and then went away and to not get my hopes up. Sure enough 3 weeks after I stopped using it, my symptoms stopped.
we had unprotected sex a week after and i was on my period. i took an i pill but my periods seems to have stopped.
Im worried I screwed up my body by taking two doses in the course of a week or so. I took my ring out Wednesday for my period week and still no period. Just that scary gush of blood. I dont feel like im pregnant of course Ive never been pregnant so I wouldnt know. I had intense kidney pain an hour later and now, as im typing this im having dull ovary pain. Did I screw up my body?
Well , I started the Nuvaring as soon as my period came on last Wednesday , as I was told by my doctor to do so . And it made my period light , but made me cramp for 4 days straight . So I took it out on the fourth day because I thought the cramps would stop . On the 5th day , my period went off as it should ; but came back on later that night . It was weird because it was brown at first . But the next day it was bright red and heavy and has been that way since .
You started Nuvaring, it can take a few days for your period to start especially when your on yo ur first mornth of Nuvaring. It takes 3 months for your body to regulate hormones.
Now if you had unprotected sex within the first week of being on nuvaring (if you hadn't been on another birth control method before) then it's possible to get pregnant.
I was on Nuvaring for 3 months and had no issues with it.
I was on the Nuvaring and took it out around the 23rd of April and had my period like normal. We have had sex every night since then (because I wasn't sure if my ovulation would be normal) and two night ago I started spotting, then yesterday morning the blood flow was heavier, and then stopped and again this morning I started bleeding heavy. I'm having all the pregnancy symptoms (I have a 2 year old so I know how it goes) but all the home tests I take are negative.
I normally have this type of blood at the beginning of my period. I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before. I took the ring i had in out, and went back to work for four hours until i could pick up my new nuvaring at the pharmacy after work.
With nuvaring you can leave in for 4 weeks take out and immediately replace with following ring. Doing it this way you have a light period or don't have one at all.
hello, the same thing just happend to me - I thought I would have my period and started with hormonal contraception (I don´t take the pill but the NuvaRing). Now I realized that it wasn´t my period at all and I didn´t got my period since I started taking the NuvaRing (1 week ago).
My questio is: how about birth-control?? will I now need to use another contraception-method or does hormonal contraception also work when you start taking it without having your period?
i was on nuvaring both times i got pregnant, well let me back up! i didnt have a period on my no ring days and i got concerned! went to the dr and he told me not to start it again until i had another period! well not thinking i did the deed and ended up preggo! i miscarried at 8 weeks with blighted ovum and after that devestation i used nuvaring again and this time faithfully.......i took out my nuvaring and didnt think much of it until the next day when i started throwing up everywhere!
Is it normal to experience nipple soreness and spotting after discontinued use of the Nuva Ring? I stopped using it about three weeks ago and have had some spot bleeding and sore nipples. My boyfriend had a vasectomy 3 months ago, though he never had his sperm tested to be sure that his surgery was successful. I am concerned I may be pregnant.
