Common Questions and Answers about Stomach virus or pregnancy

stomach

ok so now im worried!!! my son and my daughter both had a stomach virus and now i have it. i can't keep anything down and im worried about my pregnancy. does anyone know if this could affect my baby or if there is anything i can do to feel better?
I'm 32 weeks and this awful stomach virus is running ramped around my office. I'm scared to death of catching it as I sit here armed with a bottle of Lysol IC. Any suggestions short of going home? Can't miss work when I'm soooo close to the end plus all my time has been put towards maternity.
I was almost in the hospital with dehydration from mt stomach virus. Try to drink warm flat ginger ale but take small sips at a time. Drinking it flat is the best thing because the bubbles can make your stomach act up and cause you to vomit. My doctor suggested that and that was the only way I could keep fluids down. 7-Up also worked well for me. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and still very naueous and drink flat ginger ale or 7-up on the regular.
drunk some ginger ale it didn't help ate dried cereal to keep something on my stomach and room my vitamin and I would dry heave and it taste like fish and made me sicker, and thing is everyone in this house has been sick my be just woke up the other night and threw up own if its morning sickness or a virus I will cough to which makes me dry heave, and I hears after 13 weeks I should be better but I didn't get sick at all in 1st trimester so I just sleep to keep from throwing up and I get worse
I love being pregnant!!). I'm not sure if it's pregnancy related or if I caught a bug. I'll have to wait it out today to see if I continue to feel sick I guess.
Seems maybe like a 24 hour bug. Has anyone experienced a stomach virus this early in pregnancy or know if it can cause any problems? I don't think I'd be as worried if i was further along. Thanks for any responses.
I was diagnosed with the Epstein-Barr virus, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, around 14 years ago. I had extremely swollen lymph nodes in my neck, as well as my axillary region (under my arms), off and on sore throat, low grade fevers, sleep problems, and general unwellness. It took about a year to get diagnosed, and during that time I feared HIV, but didn't have the balls to get tested. Finally, I did, and was negative.
Bad heartburn since week 27 (as with all my babies) but this actually made me vomit all night last night and today. Not sure if this is just baby pushing my stomach up or stomach flu... no other flu like symptoms. Just very nauseous. Right after I vomit I feel great for about 5 minutes. Then bam! have not had food for 24 hours, very hard to even keep water down or my asthma meds or iron replacement tabs. Will give it until tomorrow afternoon then will call OB.
The only thing that means you're pregnant is a positive pregnancy test, blood test, ultrasound or birth. Humans have food cravings, this is not by any means limited to pregnancy. Fatigue also happens, and is just a part of life. I sleep 12 hours a day and could sleep more if I was able to and I'm always tired. Back pain can be caused from pinched nerves, poor sleeping habits, the bed you have, improperly lifting things, carrying heavy things, etc etc.
You could even have a common stomach virus. There's no way to know for sure if you're pregnant without seeing a doctor. An over-the-counter pregnancy test will most likely be positive if you are pregnant, provided you follow the test instructions-- including doing the test past a certain point in your monthly cycle. Many tests require that it be a certain number of days past the day your period should have started.
i had a stomach virus when i was preg with my son (now 4) i had it when i was maybe 3 mnths preg and it was horrible.(sorry) :) but i went to the dr and they gave me med to stop the vommiting and diarrhea but it mostly just made me sleep.
Could this be morning sickness coming back or is it more likely that I have the nasty stomach bug that is going around? Also, if it is the stomach bug...can I take anything for it? I feel pretty miserable (headache, achey, etc.) and want to feel better. I am at work and don't like to feel crappy when I am here. Thanks for ny advice.
to answer your question. Yes, you can get a queezy stomach. YOu could have the flu, you could have a virus, you could have eaten soemthing bad, you could have really bad gas, the list goes on and on. Is it possible to be pregnant after a man has *** inside you? I think that answer is fairly obivous, but just in case you missed biology, YES, it is possible for you to get pregnant when a man ejaculates inside you.
Then that Saturday night and all day Sunday (March 2nd) I threw up-at least ten times. I could barely even walk. I am figuring I had the flu and the stomach virus at the same time. However, my stomach still burns a little and for the past few nights I have felt like I had to throw up. I think what scares me the most about this whole thing is that I am sore under my arm pit into my right breast and have felt pain in in breasts. When I saw the dr.
I am a firm believer in eating 3 meals a day with snacks in between but for the past week I am lucky to have a cup of coffee for breakfast and maybe a small lunch. I also have to stay pretty close to a bathroom. Unlike a stomach virus it is not improving with time. I am extremely tired.
anyone familiar or heard, know, experienced taking subutex while pregnant? i am now on 1mg per day and there is limited studies. please help.
Maybe you're coming down with a stomach virus and it's not related to the pregnancy at all.
I've been extremely sick all day today with fever, vomiting, and diaherra. The doctor said I must have caught a stomach virus. Of all times!! of course I'm nervous about my baby. My fever has stayed around 100 all day. I'm taking kaopectate, vitamin b6 and unisom, and just enough tylenol to help with fever. I hate taking medication but I have no choice.. I'm trying to drink plenty of water but it's just going straight through me.
This week is my prime week, ovulating, and my husband just woke up this morning ill to his stomach with diarhea and stomach cramping. About two to three weeks ago he had the same thing but adding to it he also had chills, body aches. Can this affect our ttc? If we were still to try maybe after tody if he starts to fell better can it affect me or the baby and anyway????
No, there is no chance you're pregnant so you can quit worrying about that. You may have eaten something that did'nt agree with you or you may have a stomach virus.
With fever I doubt she's pregnant, and if she is it's a coincidence with the other symptoms. She may have a virus, bacterial infection or something serious like a gallstones or appendicitis. What do you mean when you say she can "barely see?" Is it from crying? Where exactly is the pain located? When was the last time she ate, and what was it? How long has she been vomiting and is there anything left in her stomach? Any bowel changes?
If I'm pregnant, it would most likely be eptopic and I'm not sure whether pregnancy tests pick those up or not. I've had periods. I don't have any other pregnancy symptoms. I've had 3 babies and with all 3, I had the same symptoms and I just knew I was pregnant before I even took the test. This isn't anything like it. I'll just have to go see my primary and see what he says. Still open for other comments though if anyone has had this issue before. Thanks!
I had they typical nausea and fatige but because they had verified that nothing was inside of my uterus I just delt with it as a stomach virus that wouldn't go away. When I had seen my Dr. again in February I did tell her that I was experience alot of movement in my abdomin. She said it was probably gas and would go away. Since then I have lost my insurance due to loosing my job.
a very very lucky woman indeed! January 21st I had to go to the hospital with a stomach virus... That was scary but they said the meds and all were okay and baby was okay. First movement felt was over my spring break end of march at 2am while watching Twilight. Was like a finger from inside my belly moved across my belly. haha. Loved it. Didnt really feel for certain movements until she moved while I was looking at ultrasound on April 9th.

There is nothing else for the original poster to do but to go to a doctor or walk in clinic and find out now if she is pregnant or not. A pregnancy test will still turn positive at this point, b/c she still has plenty of HCG in her system. But I've seen teens that either misread the test, or so hope it is negative that they interpret it to be negative. Nothing can be done except to go to a doctor right away. If you are pregnant, the reality will be presenting itself soon.
