It can cause a burning sensation and sharp nerve pains in the stomach, under the rib cage, the sides and your back. I was just misdiagnosed with gastritis. I was having sharp stabbing and throbbing pains under right rib around it and extremely bad in my back behind rib cage where i couldn't walk or move. Had to go to ER twice and 12 doctor visits in the last few weeks.

I have been having pressure under my right rib cage - it feels like a football is stuffed under it. I had a complete set of blood tests done 4 days ago and everything was normal - except my AST which was slightly elevated (63, normal scale has 37 as a high), but my AST has been slightly elevated for 4 years and past tests (4 years ago) included CT scan, MRI, ultraousnd and hepatitis blood tests all showed nothing wrong. I went to the hospital last month for severe stomach pains and a strange mass under the right side of my rib cage. They took my blood pressure upon admission, 115/75 sitting, a few seconds later they took it while I stood up and it jumped to 132/85. They monitored my heart for the day with no further issues- although I was lying down for the day, which isn't when it happens.

I am a 34 year old male, with chronic right side(back and stomach) pain. The pain is to the right of my belly button and a little bit below my rib cage. It is pretty severe(to the touch) I recently had a full GI test which was normal. I also had my appendix removed. The pain is severe when I wake up in the morning. I have constant diarrhea. After I pass the diarrhea the pain subsides but will come back in a few hours.
