Avatar f tn Hi Kay, Here is something you may find intresting Tri-Sprintec contains female hormones and therefore alters your female gynecological symptoms. Tri-Sprintec typically causes nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain, vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities and changes in your appetite and weight. Tri-Sprintec can affect your appearance and cause increased hair growth, loss of hair or freckling of your skin. It can cause nervousness, a headache and fatigue.
Avatar f tn Hi! Could you help me with a question on birth control pills? I was on a triphasic pill for years (Tri Sprintec). It was good for keeping acne under control (which is why I originally went on it at age 20). But in the last few years I began suffering from extreme fatigue, lots of water retention, vaginal dryness, etc, and as all my tests were normal my PCP suggested the pill was causing it.
Avatar f tn What is your favorite birth control ? Least favorite ? Ugly side effects ? Ill be 26 weeks in a few days and wanna start thinking about if i want to take BC and whst kind i want.
Avatar f tn t have any other crazy side effects or issues besides the discharge, then I should basically deal with it. Because If I go onto another birth control I might have worse side effects etc. But I'm just tired of dealing with discharge for 2 weeks, should I switch to another birth control? Is there another birth control that does not give you excessive discharge?
Avatar f tn Could you both tell me if you had other side effects when you stopped taking your birth control pills? I am thinking about stopping with mine since I have been taking it for 7 years straight (Sprintec) and now I am not able to obtain anymore pills because I am out of the country. Did you experience break outs, weight gain, or headaches when you stopped taking BC pills? Thanks!
Avatar f tn ) So I guess my question is if this is side effects from my new birth control. And i took an at home pregnancy test today, which came back negative, but it was a dollar general brand 1$ test. :| Help please!?! Note: I know I'm 17 so I shouldn't be in this forum but the posts in the teen pregnancy forum dont get very many answers.
Avatar m tn I'm a 17 year old girl and I have problems with birth control. I started taking birth control pills last year to regulate periods but I stopped because I would miss pills and get sick. I just started taking them again this week and I'm on the second pill. But I'm already getting the same stomaches as I did the last time I took them. I read up on my pills and they do have side effects but I feel I shouldn't be having these. My pills are called Tri- Sprintec.
10370221 tn?1409648755 Hello! I have been taking birth control pills (Sprintec) nonstop for 7 years now. I am currently in Europe (will be here for a while) and I am about to run out of pills. I have not found a doctor here yet who can prescribe me more. I am also not able to get in contact with my OBGYN in America. Everyone I talk to here (family, friends, etc.) say that I should just take a break from BC.
1749614 tn?1311882158 I too agree with the others. Sounds like side effects to the birth control. I would however advise condom use for the next few weeks until these take affect in your body. Otherwise you CAN get pregnant, as pulling out doesn't offer any protection.
Avatar f tn Furthermore I been having symptoms of fatigue, nausea every now and then, loss of appetite, and weight gain, but I notice this when I started to take the birth control and I thought they were just the side effects of taking it. But now I have missed two periods and I'm starting to worry. So do I need to take a pregnancy test ASAP? HELP ME PLEASE!
Avatar f tn But since you did, you should expect side effects because plan b plus the regular birth control pill is basically an overdose of hormones. So it's likely going to take several cycles to get back to normal and not have weird bleeding. A lot of women use the pill with no condoms. Using a condom is good for backup protection but it isn't completely necessary. So you didn't need the plan b unless you missed a lot of doses of your regular pill.
Avatar n tn If you are on birth control then you typically should expect your period during the placebo week. Take a test then.
Avatar m tn I've been taking tri-sprintec birth control for almost a year now. The last time I was sexually active was on july 16 and my last period came two days after that and a condom was used. I decided to stop taking the birth control for good once I finished that last pack that I was on and I can't remember the exact day of my last pill when I got off, but I haven't had a period since. Lately, I've been having temporary pain (sting) in the vagina and my abdomen has been hurting.
Avatar m tn I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body. I know that birth control pills increase estrogen levels in the body and that spironolactone is an antiandrogen drug, and naturally the body will replace androgens with estrogen. I'm scared that my already slow metabolism will slow down further with these medications and that I'll gain weight that I worked so hard to lose.
Avatar f tn Okay, so I am a seventeen year old girl and I recently started the Yasmin Birth Control Pill. My doctor told me to start taking the Yellow pill (hormone pill) on the first day of my period which I found a little confusing as it is meant to stop your period.
Avatar m tn I just started using the birth control Sprintec a week ago. I had a stroke on Monday. I cannot walk well, but other than that I have recovered quickly. I will be 20 on Saturday. I am only 19. I want to know how many others are out there who have taken sprintec and either had a TIA or a stroke due the birth control...is there anyone else?
Avatar f tn I hust started a new pack of birth control pills this month. I used to take tri-lo-sprintec tablet generic for (ortho tri-cyclen LO) for the past 6 six years, but in Michigan we do not have it in generic form anymore. Therefore this month i started taking Eth estradi/norgestimate and I feel very lazy and sleepy all the time and I see that I have been gaining weight. My question is is what I am taking now the same as what I was taking before because that is what the pharmacy told me?
Avatar f tn ok...i'm 23 years old and not looking to have a child. i have been on tri sprintec birth control pill for about 4 months...current pack i'm on is my 4th pill pack. so far it has been great...no bad side effects...but now i'm freaking out a little. i'm on my week 2 pills and just experienced probably less than a teaspoon amount of blood when i wiped after going to the bathroom.
Avatar f tn Or could this be from that I ended an old pack and then automatically started the new pack of 28 day sprintec birth control without takeing the week off with the placebo pills??? Help please!
730826 tn?1317943334 If you have stopped taking the birth control that was making you sick, and are not taking any other kind of birth control, then i would say there is another reason for the nausea. Side effects do not last for a month. I suggest you make an appointment with your doctor. However, if you are nauseated and are taking a different birth control, then it may be that.
