Avatar f tn I was on a triphasic pill for years (Tri Sprintec). It was good for keeping acne under control (which is why I originally went on it at age 20). But in the last few years I began suffering from extreme fatigue, lots of water retention, vaginal dryness, etc, and as all my tests were normal my PCP suggested the pill was causing it. I went off the pill completely 4 months ago and about 2 months after started experiencing extremely oily skin and massive hair shedding, among other things.
5787844 tn?1376078984 Lol I was given sprintec pills but I was thinking of trying natural or non hormonal methods birth control. Tracking, condoms, etc. I have been on hormonal birth control pretty much since I was 17. I can't loose weight very easily. The last year has left me with greasy, and yet somehow brittle hair. Horrid acne. Heavy periods, and extra weight. My doctor shrugged me off when I mentioned being concerned with weight gain. Saying it's not that common.
Avatar m tn I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body. I know that birth control pills increase estrogen levels in the body and that spironolactone is an antiandrogen drug, and naturally the body will replace androgens with estrogen. I'm scared that my already slow metabolism will slow down further with these medications and that I'll gain weight that I worked so hard to lose.
Avatar f tn In April I went to my family doctor and asked about birth control. My doctor and I decided on a continuous method. Below is a detailed account of the medication and symptoms. *Something also important to mention, is that I had an ultrasound this week. and the report stated, " Small exophytic cyst or paraovarian cyst left ovary. Otherwise, unremarkable ultrasound. When I first started Lessina, I saw immediate results (taken about a week before I was supposed to start my period).

Avatar f tn I hust started a new pack of birth control pills this month. I used to take tri-lo-sprintec tablet generic for (ortho tri-cyclen LO) for the past 6 six years, but in Michigan we do not have it in generic form anymore. Therefore this month i started taking Eth estradi/norgestimate and I feel very lazy and sleepy all the time and I see that I have been gaining weight. Avatar m tn I have been on tri-sprintec birth control for 8+ years. I seemed to get a zit here and there on the side of my chin around my period, but for the past 6-8 months I seem to have constant breakouts mainly on the sides of my chin. It is all the time, not just around my period. The right side is worse than the left. The rest of my skin is clear. I have tried antibiotics, Retin-A, changing all my face products, serums, facials and even a juice cleanse.

Avatar m tn I've been taking tri-sprintec birth control for almost a year now. The last time I was sexually active was on july 16 and my last period came two days after that and a condom was used. I decided to stop taking the birth control for good once I finished that last pack that I was on and I can't remember the exact day of my last pill when I got off, but I haven't had a period since. Lately, I've been having temporary pain (sting) in the vagina and my abdomen has been hurting.

Avatar f tn I tried the depo Provera shot but it was making the bleeding worse so recently instead of taking a second shot my gyno put me on the Taytulla birth control pill. So I’ve been taking Tri Sprintec for about 3 days and I have been passing ginormous clots bigger than a fist (I mean the clot takes up the entire pad and I have to change).

Avatar n tn I'm 18 years old and I started taking tri sprintec birth control at the beginning of September and my period started in the second week of the pack. Its been 2 and half weeks and my period still won't stop and it keeps getting heavier and heavier and I've never had this problem. Avatar n tn I am wondering what is a good type of birth control to take for acne and that will regulate my period, but won't effect my hormones too much? I have tried mulitple birth control such as ortho-tricyclen and multiple others that I can't remember the names to. They each helped with my acne and to regulate my period significantly but I didn't like taking them.
