I called the psychiatry department of one of the most prominent hospitals in Jakarta today (05/23). I have never gone to a therapist in Jakarta. They werent sure what to answer when I asked," What are the specialities of the therapists?". I have been with 9 therapists. I am not feeling confident at all.
I need somebody I can chat with, somebody I can utter my day-by-day predicaments with especially during this trying transitioning time.

She was assessed by early intervention (psychologist, speech therapist, and occupational therapist) and her pediatrician for autism and no one had any concerns. The speech therapist said she should be evaluated by a neuropsychologist. This is a very expensive assessment. Given the fact that she has been evaluated a couple of times do you think this is necessary? I am so frustrated, I have been trying to get her speech help for so long and have jumped through so many hoops.

My son has sensory integration disorder and the two things that were noticed first were his speech and tripping. He was three. He was evaluated by an occupational therapist and has been doing OT since being diagnosed with sensory. He is now 6 and doing really well. Yes, repeated infections can have an impact on hearing. Your son's development of speech/language is definitiely delayed, and this warants evaluation by a Speech/Language therapist. But an audiological evaluation is crucial, because it is possible that the delay in speech is secondary to hearing loss.

I have not heard about Neuroaid until now (especially that it is not approved, yet). I googled this, and what I saw was that it is some kind of newly developed drug that is produced in China. Although there is some research being run now to test the effectiveness of this drug, I found an article about this drug (see the link). Based on the literature, this drug is being used in China in patient with brain injuries such as stroke 48 hours following a stroke.
m not the same as the therapist, but once a week, well, there are 6 other days that the speech therapist is not there, so getting homework assignments for me to do with my daughter, I find essential. And although she is not speaking so much right now, her receptive language (her understanding us) has dramatically improved, and she is communicating in other ways such as learning to point (that concept is really hard for her and it's been a struggle) and doing sign language.

Hi my sister-n-law had triplets and then another set of twins. All premie's and all with delayed speech. By age 2 they all had a speech therapist work with them because of weak mouth/tongue. Within a short period of time they all had advanced in their language skills. The therapist said with some mouth exercises they have really caught up. They are now 6 and 3 yrs old.
I would make an appointment for an evaluation with a Speech Therapist just so you can put you fears to rest. Most insurance will cover an eval. I do know the younger a child is when the receive speech therapy, the easier it is to correct.

All of last week, she was being assessed and doing various evaluations by the physiotherapist, occupational therapist, the speech therapist and a neuropsychology. This week, there are a few more assessments to do and then they will begin with the therapy required.

We just moved from Illinois to Kentucky and the doctor in Illinois didn't seemed to concerned that he wasn't talking anymore but the doctor's here in Kentucky are very worried about it. My Son now pays attention to what I say. Responds to his name quite often say 6 out of 10 times. Dont mix up with kids ignores them. loves to see nursery rhymes, songs and immitates few actions.
He never showed his tongue out i tried very hard. He likes to get cuddled only by me and by my hubby, He loves us, kiss us. Used to be very active physically as soon as he started walking. now with bead activites, puzzles and stacking blocks he loves to sit and completes his activities.
