A referral from your doctor or consultant is not needed, although they can do so if you wish. An occupational
therapist will come to your home and see if there is anything they can offer you to help you be more independent and/or make tasks easier for you. They offer items/equipment to help you, including; ramps, banister rails, shower stools, perching stools, bath aids, etc. They can also help if you have housing issues or need referrals to other services.
