skelaxin

Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
Avatar f tn What are people's thoughts on having a smear for potential abuse in childhood? If it ever happened I should be able to remember, shouldn't I? I hate people touching me. I have never been sexually active but I'm not sure about my past. I have memories but nothing conclusive either way. I'm just really confused and feel extremely anxious again. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar m tn lyrica is a controlled substance. from what it looks like, it can have effects similar to a benzo or barbiturate in a small percent of the population. i would say whatever addictive properties it may have, it's very slim compared to hydrocodone. it's a better question for your doctor. what i do know is that i've never actually heard of anyone abusing it. obviously that doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot. you don't often hear of my drug of choice being abused either...
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar m tn i work in a pharmacy it is a controlled rx.

I am on Methocarb, Skelaxin and Flexaril and Klonopin which even at maximum doses provide only limited control as well as a natural remedy rhodiola, which is in clinical study but as it is not isolated as a compound can provide only limited relief. I was unable to tolerate all anti Parkinsonian agents because they enduced psychosis as well as alpha blockers such as Clonidine because they enduced suicidal ideations.

Avatar f tn I have been getting an aura in both eyes (like a migraine aura with no headache that lasts about 15minutes to a half hour) since I was told to increase my neurontin, daily, but I was also put on Celebrex and Skelaxin at the same time. I've been off of Skelaxin since March 2010. I went off of Celebrex first as I read an article that was in a New Zealand journal of medicine that said it causes rare (9/300 people) visual disturbance.
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
450140 tn?1317947304 Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.
Avatar f tn Possibly but not probably. Buprenorphine would work on the opiate side of things, but not on the antidepressant properties of Tramadol. Plus, most doctors don't recognize the abuse potential of Tramadol. I believe most every doctor would suggest a Tramadol taper over a Suboxone detox.
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Avatar n tn Since it is structurally related and is a pro-drug to meprobamate, it does have abuse potential especially combining it with opiates or other sedatives. Taken alone is makes you feel relaxed, rarely any euphoria, and very drowsy, but in combination with opiates it adds to the euphoria fealt from opiates and sedative sides effects. Taking soma and vicodin make it feel similiar in strnegth to taking oxycodone, which is stronger. It does have some analgesia effects on the body with its use.
Avatar f tn Even though it is an effective sedative, hypnotic, and anxiolytic, it allegedly shares virtually none of the abuse, dependence, addiction, and toxicity potential of other drugs used for the same range of therapeutic reasons". It is good to see you concerned about taking medications that you may become addicted to or dependent on. Share your feelings with your doctor and allow him/her to explain it to you. Good luck and keep up the good work!!!
Avatar f tn Adderall is an amphetamine with high potential for abuse, controlled substance, may lead to drug dependence, may exacerbate behavior disturbances and thought disorders, and psychotic episodes. It is true with misuse or abuse may cause heart problems such as heart palpitations, arrhythmia, and even cardiac arrest. Most at risk are individuals that have a preexisting heart condition that the one wasnt aware. Hope this provides a perspective, it is not definitive but a very good question.
