Singulair nasal spray

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair nasal spray

singulair

920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
Avatar f tn From your message, you appear to have an intolerance to the so-called non-sedating anti-histamines but hopefully will be able to take Singulair; it is a good drug for nasal allergies and also, for a fair number of people, effective treatment for asthma. And it is safe, not a cause of significant liver disease, and not associated with other side effects, deemed serious. To the best of our current knowledge, the long term use of a nasal steroid, as directed, does not pose a problem.
Avatar f tn Stick with the nasal spray. If you can't afford the nasonex you could try using claritin nose spray. I find that using a sinus rinse helps tremendously as well.
Avatar n tn t been sleeping well at night for the past 3 weeks because of the nasal congestion and have been waking up with a nasty dry mouth in the morning. I have tried benadryl, claritin 24 hrs tablets, zyrtec (also 24 hr tablet), nasal spray (some kind of anticholinergic solution), Singulair and phenylephrine so far. Benadryl doesn't really work for me anymore and claritin and zyrtec are effective for only half the day.
Avatar f tn Hi, I use Nasacort, which is a steroid nasal spray, but I'm not always good at using it.
640719 tn?1277140030 Can anyone tell me if Singulair is better at holding asthma down vs hayfever. My doctor put me on it for preventive seasonal treatment and my hayfever is really kicking up? This is a first time trying to use a preventive measure and I'm getting worried because I'm just now feeling recovered from my last hospitalization in May. I added a steroid nasal spray yesterday.
Avatar f tn I have been having repeat bacterial infections for the last 5 years. I have had repeat sinus infections, I had sinus surgery 4 years ago and that seemed to really improve the sinus infections but I still get bronchitis several (2-3) times a year, last month I was diagnosed with pnemonia (this is the second time I have had it in the last 5 years) I had no idea, just a lingering annoying cough, I even ran a 10 mile run with it and felt fine, they started me on antibiotics because my Dr.
Avatar n tn m now back on the Flixonase Nasal Spray. (The Nasule drops are much stronger than the sprays.) I know exactly what you mean when you say you think you're drowning - it really is the most awful sensation. I used to wake up with a feeling of not being able to breathe, as though I was choking to death. Like you I tried several anti-histamines but they didn't have any affect on the PND. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn The rest of the year they usually are not too bad. I used to take Astilin nasal spray to help me breath during them. I have never had a CT scan of my sinuses. For the mono I was given only tylenol and motrin for the throat pain. I was told to take each every 6 hours alternating so I was taking one or the other every 3 hours. I have not had a chest xray because my congestion has all been nasal congestion, not coughing.
Avatar f tn Then the doctor gave him saline nasal spray and another nasal spray plus some allergy tablets but still the cough persisted like a wooping cough. The specialist prescribed singulair, an orange puff which I can't remember the name and another nasal spray. He said it could be a virus and the cure he was given is the treatment of asthma. Now he still coughs but not that breathlessly but still mucus comes up when coughing. He is being followed and seems to get better slowly.
Avatar f tn Yes it it safe I had a cold and the doctors still recommend nasal spray for me!
Avatar f tn The only thing that allows me to breathe is a nasal spray equivalent to afrin. I used to be addicted yrs ago but now I only use it in dire emergency....like before eating or bed because I can't sleep if I can't breathe through my nose. In the past 3 days I've only used it at night and a couple other times during the day when it was really bad! I try to hold off as long as possible without using it. And I only use 1 or 2 sprays and usually only in 1 nostril.
Avatar f tn If it's,allergies you could take benadryl. That helps me when im sick and stuffy.
Avatar n tn I just read a terrifying article about pregnant women using nasal spray in their first 3 months of pregnancy. It said it cause heart and stomach defects. I used it off and on almost my entire first 6 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Anybody else out there know anything?
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar f tn In 2012 with our strange S CA weather this winter, I have had constant sinus congestion/swelling, post nasal drip, nose bleeds after trying a different prescription antihistamine spray and it seems saline rinses and daily Claritin offer no relief. I will also add..About 10 months, I got a referral to an ENT who did a very brief exam of my nasal passages and ordered sinus x-rays.They came back normal.
Avatar n tn Could this be a eustation problem? If so how should I go about treating it? He put me on nasal spray and singulair. I have tried those things in the past but to no avail. I am going crazy with this thing. I just geel dizzy and spaced out all the time. I could deal with the crackling but not feeling like an idiot for the rest of my life. Anyone?????
150689 tn?1333990045 HAs a Dr. suggested Singulair as well as steroid nasal spray well before allergy season? Welcome to our Community!
Avatar f tn So I take Singulair for asthma and then claritin (as needed) and a daily steroidal nasal spray for my allergies. I would highly recommend seeing a specialist though. I see a pulmonologist and an allergist who coordinate with my primary care but when I started with my primary care she didn't even know how to tell me how to use an inhaler and quickly told me to see a specialist! Good luck and God Bless! Tanja - Let me know how it ends up working out.
Avatar n tn has me taking Nasonex nasal spray, Advair inhaler, and Singulair. Those meds seemed to help my breathing but I have noticed that my neck glands become kind of swollen from time to time. Like 2-4 times a month. Just swollen and achy but not a sore throat when swallowing. Also, the lymph node that is right at the base behind my ear that connects to my neck swells up from time to time and feels like a little squishy, moveable pea. Usually my nose and eyes ache/burn when all of this happens too.
Avatar n tn It may also help to try an antihistimine but for me it had little effect. When i tried Singulair i took a nasal steriod spray with it.After three days i had no symtoms a sensation totally knew to me.How i wish i could continue taking singulair. If you live in the United States there is another drug called Zyflo which works in a similar way but it is expensive. It is not available where i am.
1386655 tn?1452097056 I use singulair, advair, occasionally zrtec, nasal spray, cough medicine. When it is more out of control than usual, I get a shot. Honestly not sure what the heck is in the shot. My biggest problem is with all of this I never get any relief. I already go to a pulmonary specialist, been to asthma drs, I do not have acid reflux/gerd either. I can't believe that for the rest of my life, I will always have this cough. Any suggestions, advice, help!!
Avatar f tn The way I got rid of using nasal spray is to dilute the nasal spray 10% per week by using water or salt water. Continue use the diluted nasal spray, your nose will not noticed the difference. by the time (after 8 weeks) you get to 80% water, then you can cut it all off. There is a company sale this kind of diluted nasal spray solutions, but you can easily open the bottle and mix it with water yourself.
