Singulair how long does it take to work

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair how long does it take to work

it affects a different part of the immune system than the typical antihistamines so some people it works better on, some it does not work as well. From what I got out of the research results if that it does help allergic symptoms but not a huge amount, that is why it is an asthma medication that can also help allergies. I would suggest getting a peak flow meter and keeping track of your values to see how much of a variation there is.
I've been reading up on prednisone and MS, and to be honest, I don't want to be on a good streak when I go to NYU, I'd rather them see it like it is. Not some drug induced wonderfulness. Just asking cause I really have no clue what cortisone is or does?????????????????? Thanks, talk to ya'll later when I can stop coughing...
I have used cromolyn. it does work well. I tried it with intal and had no positive effect. Intal is just cromolyn through and inhaler. I used the same cromolyn through a nebulizer and it worked so much better. The cromolyn did not feel as stong as singulair and needed repeated dosages through out the day. A good suggestion. A very gentle medication that does work very well for some. I am not sure about long term usage of cromolyn longer than 2 years.
work with good doctors and they will eventually get you back to good health. it may take a long time (3+ years for me), but it is possible. Also, pulmonary function tests can be a little miss leading. The numbers are based on 'norms'. You may not be close to the norms even healthy. I have the opposite problem. My normal is far above the norm so doctors think I am ok when I am 30% below what is healthy for me. Basically, an FEV 1 of 70 for you may be perfectly healthy.
I was taking prednisone this year for about 2 months total and read it causes bone loss/high sugar. how long can I take it safely, can I take 10mg/day for 6 months to a year?
Had total shut down in my breathing abilities. Had ProAir on hand and had to take it every three hours for four days to to feel I was able to breath at all. I started researching and I found that Symbicort can cause Adrenal failure and Immunosuppression. You wouldn't think possible using medications for 30 days. I began with having food intolerance to most everything. I found I could no longer tolerate preservatives, food colorings, the list goes on. I cough constantly.
I went on a week long vacation and it seemed to mostly go away for the week. Then back to work, and wham! Right back at it. This makes me believe it has to be stress and anxiety related/mental. That doesn't mean it has gone away. Either that or my bed at home isn't right for me and I'm not getting the right kind of sleep. Obviously I'm thinking about it a lot if I'm searching online for answers no one has.
hi, I want to share my one experience about asthma cure , before 4 years ago I had worse asthma attacks someone told me about saltmine treatment , so I visit to salt mine for 10 day and I spent daily 10 hours in mine it really work and I was feeling like my airways are clear and I can breath without any tightness ,and my medicines starts to go down,my doctor was also surprised , I help me for I year, and after that I haven't enough money to visit that mine again,if it is possible for anyone with
If you rub your hand over it, does it fade, or does it stay bright red reguardless? Please if you have any questions let me know. Look up the e-medicine articles off google on Churg-Strauss and see if you think the symptoms fit your son?
Oh I should also mention that it also takes about 1-2 months for some long term asthma medication to take full effect so don't take it for 2 weeks and say it isn't working, give it a chance! So I take singulair for asthma and then claritin (as needed) and a daily steroidal nasal spray for my allergies. I would highly recommend seeing a specialist though.
to be fair, maybe the singulair is kicking in or I have finally been taking fish oil long enough for it to have an effect. it's impossible to be sure without continueed testing for the next couple months. What IS certain is that the body IS capable of reversing a serious electrical cardiac malfunction IF the right curative combination is discovered, if only temporarily. If anyone wants to explore this, google Eniva Vibe. it's a worthwhile $40 experiment.
The above post by amichall is correct take him to the doctor and ask about the meds, some meds do cause a lot of side effects and this little child has enough to cope with,as he cries so much I would think at thie stage it would be better to comfort him not use any time outs or punushment as I doubt he can help it, he is too young for punishment, does he sleep during the day as if he does he may not be able to sleep many hours at night so check on how long he naps during the day, focus on his po
it doesn't matter what temperature the water is, or how long I am exposed to it for, for the hives to occur. The thing I find strange is that it only affects my torso, and never my legs, face, or lower arms. I was only 2 or 3 years ago when i researched "water allergy" on the internet that I came to know what the condition was called. Everything I read about Aquagenic Urticaria that described the symptons, exactly matched what I have experienced for the last 23 years...
Im now on 30mg prednisone, pepcid, singulair, synthroid and benedryl. I only take the benedryl when I need it. I seem to get maybe 2 or 3 days withoutthe rash, however now my face seems to be swelling quite often . When I get the rash and swelling the first day is bad, then the itching stops but the swelling doesn't go away for about 3 days and then it will start over in a different place.
Oral Prednisone is a very powerful steroid that has been undoubtedly overused through the years. Warnings about side effects are well-taken and appropriate. That being said, used judiciously, and occasionally, it has a place in the management of asthma. At times oral prednisone can mean the difference between life and death. I would use it as little as possible, and only when absolutely positively necessary.
Regular interferon (not pegylated) would kick-in after a few hours, with the pegylated stuff, there seems to be a bigger delay before it hits. I don't know how long, but I'm sure someone here can give you an idea. Hopefully you won't have problems! Can you take Tylenol or something else to deal with some discomfort if you experience any? God bless!
Fifth, if you have any known allergies, especially if it's something in your bedroom, try to either remove it or or lessen your exposure to it. For example, many people are allergic to dust or molds, and if you have carpeting, or an area rug, it can harbor these allergens. Frequently washing your bed sheets in very hot water also helps. Investing in a quality HEPA filter should help even more. If you have any pets, consider keeping them out of your bedroom.
He gave me THREE BOtoX INJECTIONS through the outside of my throat into my vocal cords. He said it would take 2 days to a week to take effect. however, it worked right away. Last night I actually slept. I woke up a couple of times with mini episodes but my throat never closed all the way up. He said the injections would last three months and I would need another set. After that, usually the spasms will end once the underlying problem (the bronchitis and cold) goes away.
If you get diarrhea or loose stools with magnesium, just lower the dose. how much magnesium do you need? it varies but generally 100 to 400 mg/day is adequate for most asthmatic patients. Magnesium is a very calming and is best taken around bedtime. Researchers have reported that sun exposure during pregnancy reduces the risk of developing asthma in kids. They looked at the vitamin D intake of 2,000 pregnant women in Scotland and the development of asthma in their children.

When people stop and give their bodies a chance to heal, a whole bunch of layers of stuff start to come out. I wrote out this long cure. I know it will work but I can't post it here. I will put it on my blog simply mimi dot net. You might need some individual coaching on the timing, but it will be easy to take you through now that I walked through it. Come work with me. it's affordable and you have nothing to loose.
i find myself taking an antihistamine every 3-4 days in order to try to control it. in april of last year, i went to update my vaccinations at the health center and got 3 shots at the same time - tetanus and MMR (which i've both had before and had no adverse reactions to) and my first shot of the hepatitis b vaccine. my skin started itching the next day but i dismissed it because i got flu-like symptoms as well and was on cold medication for for a couple of weeks.
I have a good doctor (specialist) but he doesn't explain things to me. I'm trying to be better at understanding the situation and what I must do. I find it hard to take a lot of meds - just a quirk of mine or stubbornness. I will look into the homeopathic medicines and the mask. Again, thank you.
Nasal congestion alone doesn't cause obstructive sleep apnea, but it can definitely aggravate it. If your palate and tongue structures are predisposed to falling back easily due to sleeping on your back and muscle relaxation in deep sleep, then having a stuffy nose can aggravate further collapse downstream. Untreated obstructive sleep apnea can lead to chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, weight gain, high blood pressure, heart disease, heart attack and stroke.
's reply and I have one major solution to your problems if you will take it seriously and try it... it sounds so simple- too simple to work/ but trust me. Try it and give it 4 weeks and your life will change. Unless you have a serious medical problem, I do not encourage medication. Try to eliminate any over the counter and prescribed medication. Start using WHOLE VitAMINS instead. (you will be amazed at what things like coral calcium and echinasia can do!
well this is tough so I didn't vote, i will say though if you start from the VERY beggining putting them in their own bed to fall asleep they should, I had horrible problems with my 1st DS so when #2 came I learned from my mistakes and was good to stay consistant real early, but if they are infants (0-3) and wake up most likely they need somthing and I would never let them cry it out. after 6 months or so and they know how to work you??
This morning just made the decision a few minutes ago when I was taking my regular vitamins not to take it and so we'll see how it goes. RIght now my upper lip is still swollen from yesterday at lunch time - they feel about an inch thick.
Advair, singulair, Neonase, Albuterol, Combivent plus benedryl and if that doesn't work, I go to Zyrtec then to Allegra... I also drink a ton of Dayquil when it gets really bad.... take Mucinex and other mucous thinners. it's been very hard to just get gulps of air.... Sigh. So Prednisone went in at 7 am today. I've been terrified that I'd have to take the Prednisone - for fear of "reactivating" the HepC virus... But because Dr.
I am 45 and I cannot live the rest of my life like this anymore. If that does not work, then I am praying for death to take me. I can't kill myself because I believe I will go to hell if I do that.Jesus cured so many people when he was here. I wish I could just reach out and touch him and I know I would be cured too. But he isn't here. Thanks all for reading this.
