Singulair and allergies

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair and allergies

singulair

Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
Avatar f tn I suffer from seasonal allergies particular nasal. My passages do not drain and end up with severe fluid in my ears. I have been getting infections about 3-4 times a year. My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar m tn I was wonder how Singular works and if it will help me with itchy allergies and a nose that is always stuffy?
Avatar f tn I have VERY bad asthma and allergies, but I want a healty pregnancy and baby. Does anyone out there have the same problems, asn how do you deal with them?
Avatar f tn Yes, I do have allergies and I have had testing. I have a lot of allergies that's why I am trying xolair injections to see if that works. thanks for your comments.
Avatar n tn He also gets extreme chapped lips and I am wondering if the three coincide? When he takes singulair and his asthma is well-controlled it seems like his lips get better. We have also noticed that whenever he goes to school his lips look terrible when he comes home. Could he be allergic to something at school? Thank you.
Avatar m tn he began to have a facial tic, dilated pupils and hallucinations. i finally got the message and discontinued the singulair after researching the drug on the internet. after 3 weeks, he was like a different child. he was happier and healthier. his fears, anxiety and all the other side effects just disappeared. this drug can have devastating effects and be undetected by parents. children are unable to express the way the drug is making them feel.
4178478 tn?1350667364 I take Zyrtec for my allergies and Singulair as needed. But Singulair is a script.
Avatar f tn Sooo.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
4165464 tn?1384457741 What can I do about allergies? Mine are bad and im considered a high risk. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn Hello. I have been suffering from the worst seasonal allergies in my life this year. I have itchy watery eyes, nasal congestion, and scratchy throat. I haven't been sleeping well at night for the past 3 weeks because of the nasal congestion and have been waking up with a nasty dry mouth in the morning. I have tried benadryl, claritin 24 hrs tablets, zyrtec (also 24 hr tablet), nasal spray (some kind of anticholinergic solution), Singulair and phenylephrine so far.
Avatar n tn My understanding is that there are many reasons for dark circles and allergies is one of them. I'm assuming he has allergies, and that will contribute to your son's dark circles. And if he's tired all the time that will add to it. My daughter had the same thing when she was younger, and she too has asthma/allergies.
Avatar f tn My daughter takes singulair every night and still has asthma and allergies flare ups. Veramyst nasal spray works best for me and nasonex is ok. I don't know which antihistamine medicine works best, I've tried them all too and they all have a side effect,.
Avatar n tn But then the cold/flu symptoms came back a couple days after the sore throat stopped. I went back to the doctor and they said it was allergies and put me back on Singulair. After a few days, those went away, but then my throat started hurting even worse than before. So, for a third time I went to the doctor and got tested for mono and strep A. I tested positive for mono, but negative for strep A. I then took two weeks off from work and school to sleep and be a couch potato.
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.
Avatar n tn My allergiest prescribed Singulair for my season allergies not for PLE. But trust me it works! I have suffered with this for 20 years. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I believe that my child has a behavorial issue. She has emotional outbursts and loses her temper really easy. If she gets upset, there is nothing we can do to snap her out of it. Sometimes I do something to distract her and she forgets that she was mad. She says mean things to her sister and grandmother. If she gets in the "zone" nothing I tell her phases her. She will not follow directions and does not care if she gets spanked.
Avatar f tn I take singulair and doxepin perscribed by my allergist to control hives. I sometimes breakout with red pimple sores that hurt. A medical friend said the sores look like spider bites, but I'm sure they aren't. Can either singulair or doxepincause this reaction, and if so, what can I do for the sores short of not taking the medicine. Benidryl and oether similar medicines do not control my hives.
Avatar m tn Yes. Allergies is what's causing your post-nasal drip. I would ask your doctor about Singulair. P.S. I had NO allergy symptoms when my doctor gave it to me. Just worsening migraines...like way way worse. I thought he was nuts when he wanted to give me Singulair. But, it has been a miracle drug!
Avatar f tn WITHOUT CONSULTING HER DOCTOR she stopped taking her Singulair. This was Saturday. She insisted work and all was good. The next day while she and I were out for what was suppose to be a relaxing Sunday afternoon, she had a severe panic attack. She had consumed coffee an hour earlier and were now sitting eating dinner. We each had maybe half a glass of wine. It was then that I realized something was really off as she is a happy free spirited young woman.
Avatar m tn t know what else to suggest, other then the key to managing asthma is to control any environmental triggers (allergies), and address any comorbid diseases that will aggravate the asthma, such as reflux disease, and sinusitis.
Avatar f tn I think you posted a long time ago about your son and Singulair. My six year old took Singulair for 2 weeks and develped facial tics, twitches and other odd things. He's now been off for 10 days and we are still seeing it. Neuro appt. this week- so worried. Is your son okay now?
Avatar n tn I went and seen a doctor about this and was told I have allergies, I was perscribed the generic for singulair for 10 days, and zyrtec for about 2 weeks to see if I got better. I opted to take the medicine at night (tonight)...and i can't sleep and my throat is so dry even after water. I really dis like medicine...I get anxious...what are some other options to feel better?... HELP!
