Avatar f tn The rest of the pain has been sore, aching muscles on the left side. I have never had muscle spasms occur on the right of the spine in my back in the past; they have always stayed to the left and on the center of the lower spine. No further spasms have been felt on the left side of the spine since the block.
Avatar f tn I no longer feel spasms on the right side, though the sharp, aching pain from the left side radiates over the spine to the right side when the pain is severe. Currently, as has been the typical presentation felt for the past few years prior to the stellate ganglion injection, the majority of the pain is comprised of an underlying, constant, aching, sharp pain over the entire lower-left quadrant of my back, and muscle spasms cause a stabbing pain in random intervals over the same affected area.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm 23 years old and ever since I first got my first period I've had menstrual cramps on the right side of my lower abdomen. I've never though much of this, until recently when I realized most of the women I know say they feel cramping on both sides, or just on the lower abdomen.
1815473 tn?1336171200 So since I haven't gotten many feed back on here like I do on babycenter I was wondering does anyone get cramps on only one side on your first trimester? Like I hadn't had them just yet and tonight I am having them cramps ok and off like contractions... But mild though. Is it normal?
Avatar f tn First of all let me say I am deeply sorry for this and I am telling you how sorry I am because I know that people do not really understand what a person with severe menstrual cramps goes through. They see it as "oh...its just your period? well that's a normal part of life" and it is not very nice. I have the same issue as you are outlining and I have had it for years. I am no medical expert so I do not want put any fear in you because each person and their body is different.
Avatar f tn Baby hopes is right, cramping is normal but severe cramps (worse them menstrual) with or without bleeding is something you need to speak to you doctor about. just to be on the safe side!
Avatar f tn thats is still considered normal you may hav some on the right side or left side or both as lisa said its your ligaments stretching, also you should try and find a dr so you can start your prenatal care
Avatar n tn An episode will usually last about 1 - 3 hours. The pain comes in waves sort of like menstrual cramps. It seems to come on if I have been particularly active, standing for long periods of time, go a long time on an empty stomach, or eat a heavy meal. My bowel habits have not changed nor does a bowel movement have any affect on the cramps. I have daily, regular bowel movements; no constipation or diarrhea.
1553173 tn?1358434089 This has happened twice. Last time it happened, it went on longer but was not on the left side.
5025679 tn?1363541501 t know what to do about this or if I should just ignore it until my next pap - like I said, my menstrual cramps are not severe, most of the time they are mild and on occasion during my period I will have they are more aggressive the first few days. And my back has been bothering me again which makes me think it's mimicking mild cramps. I AM A MESS!! Any thoughts??
Avatar f tn I am almost 6 weeks and have off and on menstrual like cramps anywhere from my sides to my pelvic area. I had an ovarian cyst rupture recently so I was told the pain in my side came from the fluid left around my ovaries and that it would take care of itself. It has been 11 days since the cyst ruptured but I still occasionally have pain. I don't have any spotting nor bleeding but want to know if this is normal (outside of a cyst) pregnancy symptoms. Any advice is great!
Avatar f tn I'm almost 6 weeks and I get cramps from time to time. The doctor said that it's because your uterus is growing and cervix is stretching.
1288353 tn?1279204537 ve been having weird side ache like cramps for the last 4 or 5 days. It seems to switch from my left side to my right but sporadically throughout the day. I've also felt mild cramping in my lower abdomen right in the middle. They feel different from normal menstrual cramps though. Is this is sign of pregnancy? I took a preg test 2 days ago and it was negative. I'm sure its too soon to tell but has anyone else experienced cramps like this?
7634325 tn?1394333404 I'm 9 weeks pregnant and have severe cramps similar to those of menstrual cramps. Is this normal? We tried to have sex and it was hurting even more during. Please help.
1553173 tn?1358434089 I was having severe cramps could not stand up straight. It was very painful so I laid down and it was like a stabbing pain on my left side. I tend to get constipated. Can severe cramps be associated with the flu? I have a fibroid on my uterus and cyst on my cervix. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. The pain is still on the left side but has subsided a lot.
Avatar n tn Year ago I started Yaz and on the 4th day I got severe leg cramps in my left leg and stopped. About a month and a half ago I started orthocyclen on the 5th day the same thing happened, Sharp stabbing pains in my left leg and leg cramps! Dr. switced me to micronor, thinking No estrogen would help, on the 2nd day the same thing happend! So yesterday I started aviane (lowest dose BCP) and again the same situation.
Avatar f tn The pain in your vaginal may be the baby on your cervix, I know I definitely get that and have to kind of walk hunched over and slowly stretch upward for him to move, and depends how severe your cramps are, some light cramping is pretty common but if it's like menstrual cramps I would call and see what they say. I've been having the same issues for a month if not more and I'm now 36 weeks. Everyone's different so if you're concerned it won't hurt to call and ask about it.
Avatar f tn Ok thanks. I don't know why but I have a huge fear of losing this baby. Its my first pregnancy.
Avatar f tn ve woken up in the morning with severe abdominal pain in my right side, almost like menstrual cramps but burning, and a dull ache on the right side of my back. The pain brings me to tears and I need a hot water bottle and two panadols to ease the pain. It's never happened after drinking before, only the two times. Help!
Avatar f tn Yes! I had some pretty uncomfortable cramps like menstrual cramps but a little worse and id wake up at night from them. The best thing I found is a warm shower helped. Rocking side to side. Helped me alot. I thought something was wrong too until I went for my first ultrasound and saw bubbys heartbeat! I still get cramps here and their but they are very common.
Avatar f tn Menstrual like cramps are very normal during first few weeks of pregnancy as your body is trying to stop cycle and stretching to make way for baby.. unless you start bleeding and cramps become very severe with back pain, you have pain on one side only, blurry vision etc.. then you should go to ER straight away.. regarding symptoms every women and every pregnancy is different.... give it a time you probably going to get hit by symptoms later in pregnancy..
Avatar f tn For the last few months, I have had severe cramps that feel just like period cramps. I have a swollen gland just under my chin, and a lump on my ribs on the left side, about an inch ot two below my breast. For the last month I have also had some pain in the side of my left breast and into my armpit. There is also a swollen painful spot there, and my left arm constantly aches. I am also loosing probably triple the normal amount of strands per day your hair usually looses...

Avatar f tn Hi I am 5 weeks pregnant and have been having cramps a week and a half now. They haven't been too bad, just feels like my normal menstrual cramps, but last night I woke up with cramps that lasted for about 10-15 minutes and they were so bad I couldn't walk, I felt like I was going to throw up and sweating. I managed to get myself in to the tub and let the shower spay me. There is no blood. But I am scared there might be something wrong. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Yes, thats normal. If the pain gets severe or is sharp on one side getting worse and/or bleeding, you need to get to a & e. I get the feint cramping too throughout the day but they dont really compare to period pain...i used to get bad period pain, so i use that as my indicator. Hope you feel better soon.
508106 tn?1269959199 ve never taken it but I know what is is like to live with sever menstrual cramps and heavy bleeding. My doctor put me on the birth control pill because nothing else worked. Here is what I found out about mefenamic acid: Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to treat pain, including menstrual pain. It is typically prescribed for oral administration. Mefenamic acid decreases inflammation (swelling) and uterine contractions by a still unknown mechanism.
