Been using focalin for adhd for 3 years. Previously uses ritalin, concerta, ritalin LA.
Taking 10mg twice daily.
Recnently been feeling very stressed and anxiety out over nothing. I get irritated easily.
Looked into my diet and blood work, etc. They are all ok. Life is ok, otherwise.
The doctor said stims can cause this and gave also tenex to take the edge off. Helps a little, but its not right.
Is this common for anyone else?
I would be more concerned about what the weed is doing to you! Marijuana is just self-medicating, and obviously your meds aren't working if you feel the need to get "high" this way. You need to address your real issues, and maybe get off some of these meds, especially the weed.
bad affect like excessive crying and such that neurologist said my meds were right all except the anxiety medication would cause migraines with my pth but... So far Ritalin has helped me to stay awake just that's all its done is keep Mr awake I'm unmotivated and still sleepy but I can stay awake. We are upping the dose next week but I have read many places with symptoms like mine that are very similar or same to narcolepsy that adderall is better than Ritalin.
im 19 now and still have heart palpitations, wierd depressing feelings in my brain, vision problems and hearing problems...
My brother was diagnosed at a very young age with ADHD and one of the first medications prescribed for him was Ritalin. This was a large mistake on the part of the doctors back then (early 1990's) as it deprived my brother of developing physically into a teen. He stopped eating which in turn stunted his growth both in height and weight. This went on for years, at the request of the specialists.

(He never had ADHD by the way, just ADD, he never had the hyperactivity)
He is 31 years old now, 10 years since he was diagnosed with Attention Defecit Disorder with Anxiety Disorder. He still takes his Ritalin every day, but is going to be weaned off them after he finishes University........he is just going into his third year of an engineering degree, and is doing a Masters due to his First grades in every unit. As for differences between bipolar and adult ADD - google has information, personally I believe adult ADD to be up their with childhood *** as about most over diagnosed thing around and do not remotely believe its as prevalent as people say - I have met plenty of adults who claim to be ADD and not one of them truly fits the symptoms and the behaviours but hey they get ritalin and it works so they must be ADD right? * Ritalin works on non ADD and ADD people in most cases...
ritalin is running my life its all i think about feel like i cant get enough, been on it for 3 yrs, just recently loss control sometimes takeing 200+ mg a day its going to kill me and im desperate to stop, anyone familiar with this monster

For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall. He still will NOT increase the Ritalin dosage.
My husband has been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Our Dr says he is the poster child for Adult ADD/ADHD. He has also been diagnosed with a leaking Mitral valve prolapse. And was placed on Pinodol. He is also on Suboxone for loratab addiction. He has been put on adderall then taken off due to it not helping him. Was put on Vyvanse and was having severe side effects from that. So he was placed on the same dosage of Adderall that he was on previously. 20 mg 2 times a day, and was also put on Zoloft.

These two conditions are not noticed with Ritalin. You may have had them coincidentally.
Adult ADD is associated with a lot of other psychological problems. To avoid them, you should try and take Ritalin regularly.
Can you mention if you had AD/HD symptoms in the childhood?
focalin is dexmethylphenidate and its twice as potent as methylphenidate(ritalin, concerta, etc)..im suppsoed to take 40 mgs daily and it does help with my minor symptoms and gives me quite a stimulant effect, but for me and my addictive personality its like playin with fire. it cna be very addicting simliar to adderall and other amphetamines, so be very very careful, the mental addiction can be quite debilitating..

But after about a month or two the side affects were just way to harsh...lost all motivation to eat, lost the ability to get an erection, developed insomnia...

So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do. Since Ritalin is faster acting I'm hoping that it will kick in first ( is it within 30 minutes?) and then after it kicks in to give Vyvanse.
Maybe I'm getting Adderall and Ritalin confused then. Could have sworn I lost all motivation for life on Adderall and became even more hyper on Ritalin. Did I mention I'm dyslexic? But no Sandman is right.
on our year anniversary he didnt even say happy anniversary all i got as a present was the big news that he had began to smoke marijuana again. i hate weed with a passion i dont see why people say it isnt harmful, it helps those who are ill but if your healthy it could be very harmful. i always tell him to stop and he refuses and he knows i really am NO fan of weed he always argues with me telling me it isnt a drug but to me it is!
I was taking wellbutrin & ritalin & didn't have probs with seizures ever. The problems with seizures they've had with them are like you said people prone to them..like who have had one before. Or by overdosing. That's why most dr try to stick with sr as appose to xr cuz you're not taking as much at a time.
wellbutrin can act as a stimulant-like drug though too so that it combo with the ritalin made me a little more anxious...
