OK I JUST STARTED TO TAKE RISPERDAL CONSTA 37.
I took Risperdal Consta and Lithium for 7 months while being in the hospital. When I got out of the hospital, boy was I sorry! My cognitive abilities were down about 70%. I also had sleeping problems and chronic fatigue. When I read a book, I had no memory retention of what I read. If you value your son's life, take him off all the drugs, drugs are poison, and take him to a homeopathic doctor.
Without knowing the actual dosage given, it is impossible to give you an exacting time frame. If he was given the Risperdal Consta injection, the effects would persist beyond one month. This would seem highly unlikely.

I have been on meds Depakote and Risperdale but as of 4 months ago weaned myself off my Depakote and now I want to try and get off the Risperdal Consta. I want to try to live life without the meds again. I feel them throwing me on medication has done more harm than good. I have gained weight and do not feel as energetic and happy as I did before meds. Is there even a chance of hope that I experienced a nervous break down and they have misdiagnosed me with this mental illness.
He still gets shor tempered on the risperdal and tenex and prozac. We have upped all the amounts except the risperdal is still at 2 mg a day. He was much better in the beginning. He takes 3 mg of tenex, 2 mg of risperdal and 10 mg of prozac. He still is impulsive and gets into arguments. It seems to be an ongoing problem to adjust his meds. We see the psychaitrist monthly. He has been on other meds and they either made him worse or stopped working.
It will take a few months to build up to a full dose of Lamictal and if you have angry outbursts that get physical your psychiatrist might want you to take Risperdal and then as the Lamictal builds up to a full dose see if you can do without it so that you have full stability in the meantime as Risperdal unlike Lamictal works right away. Risperdal of course has a good mood stabilization effect. They can coordinate about this as well.

and ya, this is very difficult for you. I feel for you. You should be getting more information on dealing with autistic kids. There are very specific ways to deal with a child having a melt down and ways to prevent that.
I would like to know what would be a good allergy medicine that can be taken with risperdal. I have given my son benadryal in the past and he would become calm but since the risperdal he gets very hyper and stays up all night. My son has seasonal allergies. I can think of no legitimate or appropriate reason for a 73 year old to be on risperdal. Risperdal is a "blacklisted drug" associated with many deaths. The geriatrics department at Johns Hopkins sponsored a seminar at Mount Sinai last year specifically dedicated to the inappropriateness of risperdal for the elderly patient. Long term use of risperdal will result in tardive dyskinesia, siezures, and degradation of sentience.
The half life of Risperidone is 20 hours, multiply by 5 would be when it is completely out of your system so 100 hours so basically in less than five days it would all be gone. This information is from my PDR. It makes no difference how long you have taken a drug in how long it stays in your system.
I just started Invegra 3mg daily which is the new drug in lieu of Risperdal so I will be curious as to how it works. Supposedly, it is just like Risperdal but much more tolerated with less side effects. After taking risperdal over 248mg in total over 7 weeks my penis shrinked rapidly at first I did not know what it was but slowly began to realize its from prolactin in the drug
Will this recover I took some ability which decreases prolactin it made my penis feel better but its still a lot less in length then before

Hi, I had been on Risperdal for about 15 months and I recently stopped taking Risperdal. First of all, my periods which had stopped shortly after starting Risperdal returned and my breasts which were producing milk dried up but now I suffer from insomnia. I sometimes get only 1 1/2 hours of sleep a night. Will this go away on its own?

I am Ok and am on Tegretol as a mood stabilizer and encountered plenty of side effects from Risperdal like lethargy,dullness so He decided to take it off me.I wonder how long this will go on.I wonder how long this will go on.Hope it stops earlier than 2 weeks as you suggested.I have Three days left before I stop the Risperdal and will be happy to be off it.
