Normally there's some hostile hitting and spitting when a newcomer comes in.
ve only had one cat that went completely psychotic at the vets, and we gave her a tranquilizer pill. You could ask your vet about that. Why didn't they suggest that????? I think the tranquilizer will be much easier on your cat than the gas.

Here is a example of a argument.... we recently got a new Mainecoon kitten, I was trying to get him to look at him play, my boyfriend roles his eyes says he is "too busy" because he is getting ready for Burning Man may I add "at the last minute", then I get upset and confront him about it, then he goes into this rampant rage. He grabs my arm so hard it made a bruise and then he knocks his knuckles on my head.
Fun and games yes but I swear he has a look of satisfaction on his face after one of his antics! Tatty was the only kitten with long hair but also the only blue/grey in the litter his litter mates were more traditional Bengal colouring.

Is the kitten a male or a female kitten? I assume you brought the kitten to a vet to be vaccinated ? You should have a litter box for the kitten.
What part of the kitten's body did the dog bite ? Did the bite break the kitten's skin ? I am sure other people on the cat forum will give their opinions and suggestions too. Keep a close eye on your young kitten.
The cat also will hiss and hit the kitten with her paw if she walks by sometimes and the kitten will always run after the cat anytime it moves. I tried putting a 'cat calming' liquid i can put in their water that i got from a pet store, however only 1/4 of the amount a regular cat is supposed to get is allowed for a kitten so i only put 1/4 of a teaspoon in, and the cat doesn't want to drink the liquid straight so I cannot monitor it at all times of the day.
Is this a one week old kitten or a kitten you've had one week? Regardless, never bath a kitten in water unless it's an emergency, use pet wipes instead.
I need a bit more detail on it's age (a one week old needs very specific, careful care), but young kittens tend to have distended bellies. Unless your kitten seems sick, it's probably just the normal course of growing.
We brought a male kitten into our household about 3 months ago. The kitten is 4 months old now and has two grown male cat companions in the household as well. This kitten started immediately playing/attacking the other cats,hogged the other cats food,and just generally tried to take over any and everything the other cats liked and fights constantly even when the other cats are tired of messing with this kitten.
Put a towel over a heating pad and put the kitten on it to keep it warm. Even if you can get the kitten to eat, if it is cold, it won't help the kitten. When the kitten's body temperature starts to drop, its system starts to shut down, and feeding it can actually harm more than it can help.
I don't know whether or not your kitten eating your puppy's food is harmful......is the puppy's food smaller than what you were feeding your kitten? I found that with my cat(she's about 10 months old), she likes the smaller food, and we still feed her Purina kitten chow, or another kitten formula. She will eat "cat" food too, but she really seems to like the stuff for kittens and has an easier time eating it.

5 which I feel fine.. As of late I have been waking up with what my friend believes is psychotic episodes, moments of ultra confusion for me as I usually have no recolection. It is now getting to the point where I could hurt myself as I thrash about and walk into walls. I had a CT Scan which showed no problem. Not every breakdown is psychotic. I had a complete mental breakdown about 16 years ago or so which lead to 3 years of crushing depression - my illness course leaves me prone to this type of breakdown.
However not being on meds? Dont know - i went nearly 15 years not on meds and i thought i was fine until I wasnt and went psychotic manic, so you might be fine for a long time as well.
And I wasnt fine, I was hypomanic and looking back had at least 3 mini breakdowns and burnouts in that time.
I am currently recovering from a severe depression with suicide ideation in which i apparently had psychotic symptoms. My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Has anyone ever had one of these? Also is there anyone here that has had several months of severe anxiety, then slowly goes back to several months of calm? I'm afraid this feeling will last forever. Just to make sure I'm experiencing this "anxiety" what does it feel like to u all?
