I know I have psychotic problems as well and cannot do without psychotic meds. I find life to be almost unbearable in the mornings and I dread nights. I hope none of the rest of you go thru this. I know longer know what I have mentally and feel lost. Don't worry, I am not actively suicidal, just keep my options open for the time when I run out of available meds and have to go unmedicated.

has recenlty been traumatized, then had a complete meltdown which the docs called a Psychotic Break? They are hospitalized for being a danger to themselves & others. I don't have much more info than that. What does this mean? Is it temporary? How long can it last & does anyone know how long you can be held by law? Or is that a state by state issue? On April 2nd I made the decision to admit myself to a psychiatric hospital due to a psychotic episode. The thing that I'm having the hardest time comprehending is if I induced the episode or not. I convinced myself that I was covered in fleas, I heard voices saying my name and calling me worthless in the past, & I experienced paranoia. I don't know what to think right now. I wish I could know if I made the symptoms worse or not...

Not every breakdown is psychotic. I had a complete mental breakdown about 16 years ago or so which lead to 3 years of crushing depression - my illness course leaves me prone to this type of breakdown. However not being on meds? Dont know - i went nearly 15 years not on meds and i thought i was fine until I wasnt and went psychotic manic, so you might be fine for a long time as well. And I wasnt fine, I was hypomanic and looking back had at least 3 mini breakdowns and burnouts in that time.

My pdoc yesterday told me it's possible to have a psychotic break from too severe anxiety. This scares me bad, what is that? Does that mean I'll go crazy and hurt someone? Myself? Clinical depression, alcoholism, borderline personality disorder, pain killer abuse, self harm and the list goes on. After a car crash I had, I think my frontal lobes got either destroyed or damaged. Erica My pain syndromes were treated by my neuro, long before I knew they had names. I had no computer and no computer savvy until May of '06. I was treated for what I now know to be bilateral trigeminal neuralgia, bilateral meralgia paresthetica and the old ms hug. The ms hug was the first thing. I had a bulging disc in my neck that caused a pinched nerve. The pain radiated down my left arm and caused a severe loss of strength. With a combination of physical therapy, exercise and working out with a personal trainer to rebuild strength I have the majority of my strength back and I am pain free. It has been three years since my injury. What I want to know is if a neck injury like this could be the cause of memory problems I am experiencing.

t know anyone with a baby named Dexter or Marley Anne (and yes she is going to have 2 middle names lol) I feel like it is important for us (dh and I) to like the names (which we both do) and I like the names that are less presentable. I love Dexter and I don't think he is going to be a serial killer or anything lol, but it is kind of a tribute to Michael C. Hall due to his surviving cancer but I really do just love the little nerdy names lol.

I now know I always had behavior that was unusual and somewhat abnormal since I was a child, first started having psychotic thoughts when I was 13 and then at the age of 18 had a full psychotic break. I never really felt like myself until I started that treatment in clinical study but once I did could look back and see that I always had behavior patterns and obsessions that were markedly abnormal.
