Avatar n tn I take propranolol for Tremors from taking Gabapentin. I wanted to know if propranolol has withdrawal symptoms because I am weening off all meds to see if my new symptoms were caused by all the meds. I want to add meds as needed for Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn How long does withdrawal from beta blockers usually last? I don't have any money to refill my propranolol prescription and haven't had it in 4 months. I was taking it for arrhythmias and high BP (160mg XR propranolol with 180mg XR diltiazam daily) and when I ran out 4 months ago I just kept taking the Dilt. hoping the symptoms were just withdrawals and that they would go away... Symptoms are what you would think, I'm just curious if to someone with similar conditions (i.
687729 tn?1397992727 I have been taking Klonopin and Propranolol for years, being treated for a benign tremor and migraines. I'm tired of feeling dopey all the time and I have quit the Klonopin and cut my Propranolol dosage in half. I've been getting leg cramps and headaches (not full-blown migraines, but nagging headaches that make me want to go back on the Klonopin). Can I expect these symptoms to disappear?
704329 tn?1518523098 ve heard this more with Effexor than Paxil, what they used to do with Effexor was have the person take it twice per day to avoid the withdrawal from the rapidity with which it leaves the body. You might be having this reaction with Paxil. You might discuss dividing the dose in two with your psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn controlling high blood pressure, relieving angina symptoms, and treating atrial fibrillation. Propranolol may also be used off-label to relieve alcohol withdrawal symptoms, treat hyperthyroidism, and slow down the progression of aortic dilation in children with Marfan syndrome. IF this medication is right for the person you are inquiring about cannot be answered here. This is a question that can only be answered correctly by the patient's physician.
5252520 tn?1366044234 I am 22 and I've been on propranolol for about 3 years starting at 160mg for panic attacks and anxiety. I have weaned myself (with the help of my doc) down to 10 mg in the morn and 10 mg at night. It's taken about a year and a half! Last week I found out I was pregnant! Unplanned but exciting! however I have to come off my propranolol now for good. I've started to miss my evening dose and then next week they want me to do 10mg on alternate days, then cut it out completely.
Avatar m tn I am currently out and have to wait until 3/28 to get a refill. I was wondering if Propranolol would help me with the withdrawal symptoms to I can make it through work days. I just want this feeling to go away, I am currently taking some Gabapentin that I had from years ago, but it is not enough to take all WD symptoms away. I am embarrassed to ask my doctor for help during this time. I don't know what to do, I am feeling lost and want this to end!
Avatar n tn I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.
Avatar f tn Why on earth were you on a beta-blocker (Heart medicine, Propranolol) for a sore throat? Someone made a mistake.. I would seek help Immediately. Though 2 weeks of propranolol wouldn't hurt you I would say you could probably have Incurred a bad side effect from the Propranolol.
Avatar m tn I used to take a slow-release Propranolol 80 mg every day, which caused severe tiredness and extreme fatigue, to the point that I was not able to think straight and sometimes could not even get out of bed. Apparently, Propranolol also inhibits the ability for you to burn fat, not to mention gastrointestinal issues. Depression is also significantly higher when taking Propranolol.
Avatar m tn Have any of your doctors mentioned cyclic vomiting syndrome? I would recommend seeing a gastroenterologist and talk about this. What have the doctors tried to stop this?
4155003 tn?1351614311 im taking propranolol and have been for 7weeks, ive been told to cut my 40mg tablets in half and have half a day to slowly come off them, but when is it fully out my system???
Avatar f tn 5 mg xanax but my dr decided to try propranolol 40mg instead because i started to have high blood pressue. i read these two meds arent safe together. has or does anyone take them together?
Avatar m tn I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (I worry I don't because i've been diagnosed without the title table test but my heart goes up 30 beats upon standing always). I am on Propranolol and have been having a weird symptom lately. Ill be sitting and my hearts 60 then ill stand and its 110 then within seconds of it going that high it immediately drops back down to around 80.
Avatar f tn I was taking Depakote, Lithium, and Propranolol. I have been off my meds for almost 3 months because I lost my insurance. I want to stop smoking. Since I am struggling with my moods due to lack of meds, I am very concerned about how the nicotine withdrawals if I were to quit cold turkey. Any suggestions? From my research I have found that Chantix is definitely not an option for me.
Avatar m tn m guessing your propranolol is low dosage as well) are pretty safe. A lot of folks take propranolol to reduce anxiety for public speaking, etc. I'd tend to agree that they aren't a cure for PVCs based on my personal experience. I think they are more for just helping one to cope better... I saw you were going to try the Taurine/L-arginine supplements. Please do report back. Just FYI, I'm doing 1G L-arginine (nightly) and 2G Taurine (split AM/PM).
Avatar m tn These are usually intention tremors and other causes which need ruling out is alcohol withdrawal, hyperthyroidism, and etc. Treatment would include medicines like propranolol, which blocks adrenaline related neurotransmitters, and primidone which is an antiseizure drug. Consult your neurologist for the indication of therapy and the relevant treatment should be given if indicated. Take care.
Avatar f tn Of course all blood work came back ok and I didnt have a heart attack but they said that when I just casually walk my heart rate is to high so they put me on Propranolol. I had a bad bout with Amytriptaline 3 years ago and Ive never taken any meds but 1 since out of fear of dying. Since I have been on the med things are much better but its like my heart is fighting the meds to skip. I just feel uncomfortable and still out of breath when I walk.
Avatar f tn Prior to being pregnant I would take 5-10mg of Propranolol a few times a month for performance anxiety. I have withheld using it so far but it has really hindered me at work. I have a big presentation I need to give this week in front of 150 people and fear getting on stage without taking it. However, I am also nervous about any potential harm to my baby. Can you clarify if it is safe to use propranolol (5mg) infrequently during the remainder of my pregnancy??? thank you very much!!
Avatar m tn Me too. I wasn't told either, and though I didn't stop cold turkey, I've lost three and a half years and counting. But you say it's getting better, so it looks like you're doing way better than I am. There are a lot of things I've learned about that I didn't know about then, but you might try a liver cleanse to get toxins out of your system. If you google protracted withdrawal syndrome there's a site that offers a treatment, but I don't know if it works.
Avatar n tn Hi- I developed severe akathisia after taking risperdal at night for sleep- it has been over 3 months since I have been off the meds and am suffering terribly. The neurologist I saw put me on xanax and I am up to 2 mg a day- divided throughout the day. As soon as the dose wears off I begin feeling horribly, anxious, more restless. I have been taking the xanax since May- and origionally was on a dose anywhere between .75 a day to maximum 1.
Avatar n tn I have been getting bad anxiety the doctor has given me 10 mg of Propranolol, I am not sure about taken them because, I have a history of asthma which, I don't have anymore but I would like to just try the pill once or twice to see what the drug is like would that be dangerous, due to withdrawal symptoms or does that only occur with people taking them for a while
Avatar f tn It is absolutely impossible for you to be experiencing withdrawal symptoms after taking less than 1mg of clonazepam. You are indeed worrying for nothing and exaggerating whatever you're feeling. AND I can pretty much guarantee it's from reading the symptom sites on the Net. You really must stop doing that. The difficulty you're having falling asleep could be due to holiday stress or some other stressor(s) in your life at the moment.
