Long story short....
I will confess that I don't know exactly what your problem is, but one this is sure: you can't damage your follicles permanently with minoxidil. In fact, I've never heard of that drug damaging anything. So to start with, please stop panicking about that. I think what the doctor prescribed to reduce inflammation makes sense. White-yellow stuff doesn't just come out of the scalp, unless you rub the scalp and make it come out. Could you be doing that?
I have not taken any of these products for several years now. However, the brain fog seemed to develop while taking Minoxidil and perhaps Propecia. As time passes I hear more and more about the negative health effects of these drugs.
Basically I have no clue where to begin, I am frustrated both with my symptoms and doctors inability to help. I have considered things like STD's, Lyme Disease, Toxic Mold Poisoning and even tried to pursue these things.

I feel lost and depressed and terrified that I have done permanent damage with propecia. I went to a urologist and almost broke down in his office. He made me want to scream because he said everything looked ok and my testosterone levels (to him) were normal.
I am wondering if testosterone supplements will be the answer for me. Have you figured out anything else about your problem?

m on propecia...however, my doctor (being pretty cool), prescribed me 5mg Finasteride (i.e. Propecia). I split the pills in half, which is pretty close to the dosage for Propecia. The bottle lasts me two months, and costs me $5 because finasteride is covered on my insurance. I'm 28 years old, soooo....the insurance company DID need my doctor to verify the prescription. But like I said, he is cool :) See if your doc will hook you up the same!

I am 27 years male . About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.
Thus, I need to address my erection problems while still being able to take Propecia. I read that L-Arginine could help with my erectile problems and that it works similar to Viagra. Thus, I began taking L-Arginine, 1500 mg. twice a day. It has helped but it has not solved the problem. I went to my doctor and he gave me a prescription for Viagra, 50 mg. My question is this: Is it safe to occasionally take Viagra if I also take L-Arginine?

I am an 18 year old female with thinning hair. I have seen a local Derm who said there was no scarring on my scalp and no real skin issues associated with my hair loss. In 2004 I took a course of Roaccutane for acne and noticed some thinning after the course finished. I was told that this was a known side effect, but that the hair would grow back. It has been over four years!!! My hair is uniformly thinned out across the entire scalp.
