Pristiq and buspar

Common Questions and Answers about Pristiq and buspar

pristiq

I need to stop taking xanax because i will be drug tested and even though I am prescribed I am not able to have a benzoid show up. Will buspar be a problem for me passing a drug test. The issue is not that a legal one. My medications are legal the issue is the substance. I am also taking pristiq and that is fine.
ive recently (since thursday) been put on Buspar 15 mgs a day twice a day. for now only taking 7.5 mgs at a time for the first 2 weeks then up to 15. im told its one of those keep taking consistantly to see the effects kinda meds, & my pharmacy tech teacher said she hasnt heard anything bad about it really. but its the first time ive actually been put on some form of anti-anxiety agent...which is probably what i ultimately needed.
3 weeks ago to Pristiq 50mg. The first week I took 30mg Cymbalta then 2nd week and since, no Cymbalta and only Pristiq (still taking buspar & Xanax prn) I feel I'm noticing small improvements in the past cpl weeks but not back to normal. Today is a rough day with anxiety/adrenaline/agitation. I so want outta this hole and praying it works for me. Anyone else have success switching to Pristiq? Would like to hear how long it took for ppl to notice a difference.
I am currently on Pristiq i forgot the mg and buspar 15mg twice a day. the pristiq has helped my depression and the buspar helps with daily anxiety but not for when i go out and get really panicky. I used to take Paxil cr. 12.5 mg and it worked perfectly! I never had anxiety nor panic attacks when I was on it. I took it for about a year and stopped cause I gained ALOT of weight. thats when the roller-coaster of medications started.
Wellbutrin is an energizing antidepressant that can increase anxiety and actually cause panic attacks in some people. Pristiq is approved for depression, but may also help with panic disorder and anxiety.
He wants to ween me of of the benzo, Clonazepam and then try Buspar, which is not as addictive and has far less side effects and tolerance related issues than benzos develop over time. In about a month once he see what Cymbalta can do and if it works I will transition from Clonaepam to Buspar, which I hope is a good medication???? .
First, it sounds like your anxiety is severe, so it might be beneficial to suggest to your doctor to start on an anti-depressent or long-acting anti-anxiety agent like Buspar to go to work and take the edge of the anxiety and maybe prevent the anxiety attacks from being so severe.
My doctor put me on Buspar which helps with just daily anxiety but doesn't help with the anxiety and panic I get when I go out. If you only suffer from GAD and a little depression you might want to give pristiq and buspar a try. I know Buspar alone is just for GAD. and of course pristiq is an antidepressant. I hope this helps.
Well I have panic disorder with agoraphobia and my new Dr put me on Pristiq because I was on Zoloft and it made me very sick. Anyways, this med hasn't made me sick but I have been on it for 13 days and I cant really tell a difference... I know it could take up to 4 weeks but shouldn't I be seeing some improvement?? My anxiety level is still very high and I still cant leave the house alone.
I suffered from extreme fatigue and sleepiness during the day. I ended up getting several sleep tests and nothing showed up except a few hypopneas. They fitted me with an oral appliance but that did nothing. I then started getting treated for Depression. A few meds helped but they only lasted a few months. I've been on just about every antidepressant and nothing has helped me.
Unless a person has dealt with anxiety they have no idea how it can torture you day in and out. I'm on 25mg of Buspar daily and Ativan as needed. I've been struggling with horrible anxiety for six months now. Everytime I think I'm getting better I end up having an intense attack. I wish there was some "cure" for this condition and I could be normal again.
I want to get better!! I am currently on pristiq and buspar. But neither seem to really help the panic attacks. SO I am wondering what others have tried with their panic attacks which helped them. anything will help!! thank you soo much!!!!
I'll ask my doctor about Xanax in small doses, as well as Lexapro and Pristiq. And DancingJean and others, I'm so sorry that you're going through the same cycle I am right now! It really is hard to decided whether or not to go the medication route...
I have been trying to wean off Pristiq, and have battled a severe headache most days and the second week of alternate day pills, this whooshing sound started. It is incredibly annoying and seems to make me lightheaded and the headache worse. After two weeks my dr said to stop the pills totally, but I am a bit scared to just stop them if these symptoms are going to continue strongly! Can anyone tell me how long this swooshing is going to continue??
I'm not a fan of being on drugs anyway (I actually haven't re-started the effexor since coming off of it although I know I need to be on something) I've tried zoloft, pristiq, paxil and remeron and each one of them either didn't work as well as the effexor did or they caused the same sexual side effects. Like I said, I don't wanna be on drugs anyway, so what's the benefit of going on the buspirone as well as the effexor.
I had asked my doctor about trying Buspar. She said that it would make me feel drugged and that I should take Klonopin. I've been reading about it and have gotten pretty scared. My doctor also started me on lexapro last week at 2.5 mg because I was sensitive to zoloft and i told her I was getting depressed. She said I could take the klonopin with the lexapro for about 3 months and then go off the klonopin.
Ok so i went to the Dr for anxiety and he put me on Effexor and i have had horrible side effects for 3 days... i called him and he said he would put me on pristiq, well i looked online and they are pretty much the same med, Why would he put me on the same med? I am really confused and upset about this. This anxiety has taken over my life to the point i don't drive or go anywhere alone, I need some help or suggestions please???
I have a hx of taking celexa, pristiq, buspar, Ativan, and Xanax. All of which I took myself off of 2-3 years ago due to my stubborn attitude. Recently in the past few months my depression took a toll on me where I sought help. Can anyone relate to me? Does anyone have any experience with Fetzima or even Adderall? I do have an appointment coming up for follow up.
They put me on Zoloft for two months and then the doctors just assumed that because I had anxiety issues and got depression from having my baby, I must be a manic depressive and have to stay on these meds. Rather than keep me on Zoloft, they felt the need to change me to Paxil. At first I thought they were great. I felt well. But anything was better than what I felt after having my daughter.
Some days I forget to take meds and then I try to taper doses to where I will not have to refill so soon. Saw PCP and he said I could take Pristiq(?) 50mg daily instead of Effexor. No ins. cant see psychiatrist. No ins. to see anybody.Think I will just stop taking all and say to H*** with it all. I am so confused. I read others problems want to help, heck sometimes feel can't even help self. These changes will flip from good to bad in notime. Feel like I'm crazy.
I am currently trying Buspar, just coming off Lexapro, that did not work for me. The Buspar so far is not working either and I am supposed to try Effexor in the next few days. I am very scared to try the Effexor, but I have every single symptom you have, and I can't take it anymore. The xanax takes them away, but it does not let me have a clear head, and it is addicting. As soon as the xanax wears off, I go right back into anxiety and attacks.
Hi and Welcome Tramadol Warriors, Please come on in and make yourself comfy. All are welcome.
First, I want to say this site offers an attitude that encourages us, as flawed humans, to not think of ourselves as the "scum of the earth" because we are addicted. We all know we are pathetic and have excuses, denials and justifications for the demon we carry. Having said that.... we are still worthy of existing with the other flawed humans that live. So, here it is! I have been taking (daily) 4 Fiorinal #3 for about 7- 10 yrs. It started because of true pain that needed this med.
buspar). Talk it over with your doc. I'm sure he will have some options for you.
Hi Everyone, Welcome brave Tramadol Warriors ... Come on in and make yourself comfy ... there's room for all!
I found this article and thought you might find it interesting................ Peace Greenlydia By John M. Grohol, Psy.D. These are the top 25 psychiatric medications by number of U.S. prescriptions dispensed in 2009, according to IMS Health. I’ve also provided their 2005 ranking. To put the percent change into perspective, the U.S. total population rose approximately 4 percent from 2005 to 2009. 2009 Rank 2005 Rank Brand name (generic name) Used for… U.S. Prescriptions (% change) 1. 1.
I went back in and he just told me that I had very bad anxiety. So he put me on Buspar. I took this a few times and by this time I was in so much pain in my head and neck. My entire body started to tingle, it still does to this day. I then went on Lexapro for a month and it was the worst experience of my life.IT constantly felt like someone with long fingernails that were on fire and were digging into my head, neck and upper back.
I have anxiety issues (fluttering in upper stomach, pain in arms and tingling in hands), but I am NOT depressed. After normal stress test and echo and heart monitor testing, my doctor gave me (about a year ago) a one-time prescription for lorazapam but told me it was addictive and to take it only as needed. Soooooooo ...... I try not to take them, but when I do, I only take one-half of the .5mg tablet. I still have most of them left, because I just try to fight my way through the symptoms.
A fascinating research study was published today by Irving Kirsch of the University of Hull, questioning whether or not 4 popular antidepressants are any better than placebo, and found that they weren't any better. Here's the study: http://medicine.plosjournals.org/perlserv/?request=get-document&doi=10.1371/journal.pmed.
