Pristiq and buspar

Common Questions and Answers about Pristiq and buspar

pristiq

Avatar f tn 3 weeks ago to Pristiq 50mg. The first week I took 30mg Cymbalta then 2nd week and since, no Cymbalta and only Pristiq (still taking buspar & Xanax prn) I feel I'm noticing small improvements in the past cpl weeks but not back to normal. Today is a rough day with anxiety/adrenaline/agitation. I so want outta this hole and praying it works for me. Anyone else have success switching to Pristiq? Would like to hear how long it took for ppl to notice a difference.
Avatar f tn Wellbutrin is an energizing antidepressant that can increase anxiety and actually cause panic attacks in some people. Pristiq is approved for depression, but may also help with panic disorder and anxiety.
Avatar f tn I did Gene site testing and it told me Pristiq was the only pill that would work well for me so I’m taking that now. They also have me on BuSpar and believe that the BuSpar is giving me the rash they just told me to take an allergy pill. Had I known that I never would’ve complained about the rash, and been happier on Zoloft. But I never had the rash on my neck or face. Good luck. It took me about six weeks for any of the anti-depressants to get out of my system.
Avatar f tn Well I have panic disorder with agoraphobia and my new Dr put me on Pristiq because I was on Zoloft and it made me very sick. Anyways, this med hasn't made me sick but I have been on it for 13 days and I cant really tell a difference... I know it could take up to 4 weeks but shouldn't I be seeing some improvement?? My anxiety level is still very high and I still cant leave the house alone.
Avatar m tn t help with the anxiety and panic I get when I go out. If you only suffer from GAD and a little depression you might want to give pristiq and buspar a try. I know Buspar alone is just for GAD. and of course pristiq is an antidepressant. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I'm a 15 year old girl and I've had a migraine for close to six months now. It's a constant pain from my temples to over my eyes. I've tried countless medicines and none are helping. When I was in 4th grade(5 years ago) I had a migraine for a month. Eventually it went away, but we had extensive tests, and everything came back clear. My neck hurts, moving hurts, I'm sensitive to light and sound, I'm nauseous, my migraine is very optical.
1322152 tn?1282507546 First, it sounds like your anxiety is severe, so it might be beneficial to suggest to your doctor to start on an anti-depressent or long-acting anti-anxiety agent like Buspar to go to work and take the edge of the anxiety and maybe prevent the anxiety attacks from being so severe.
Avatar f tn ive recently (since thursday) been put on Buspar 15 mgs a day twice a day. for now only taking 7.5 mgs at a time for the first 2 weeks then up to 15. im told its one of those keep taking consistantly to see the effects kinda meds, & my pharmacy tech teacher said she hasnt heard anything bad about it really. but its the first time ive actually been put on some form of anti-anxiety agent...which is probably what i ultimately needed.
Avatar f tn Being on Pristiq and Zyprexa has kept my depression in check, but I have low energy and no motivation to do anything. Any ideas as to how to get my energy and motivation back?
Avatar m tn I suffered from extreme fatigue and sleepiness during the day. I ended up getting several sleep tests and nothing showed up except a few hypopneas. They fitted me with an oral appliance but that did nothing. I then started getting treated for Depression. A few meds helped but they only lasted a few months. I've been on just about every antidepressant and nothing has helped me.
Avatar f tn I am a 52 year old female. Post menopause and on hormones. Just hot my thyroid levels at a good level. I switched from pristiq to cymbalta back in November. I am tired ALL the time. More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?
Avatar m tn Equivalencies are generalizations, and you are an individual. Besides, Pristiq is a different class of drug than Lexapro. Lexapro is an ssri while Pristiq is an snri. And if it were me, which it isn't, I'd start at a low dosage and work my way up on any medication so I could see how bad the side effects were and the lowest dosage at which it works is.
Avatar f tn I will only add one thing to Ryan's otherwise very good post. People do have different reactions to different drugs, even to Celexa and Lexapro or Pristiq and Effexor. While it's true the companies are trying to keep a patented product in their lineup, Lexapro seems to have fewer side effects than Celexa, but many people do find one or the other works better. Same probably with Pristiq and Effexor. But to prescribe both at once is insane.
Avatar n tn I called the pdoc back and he's having me take a 75 effexor xr and my pristiq 50---I guess a ween off of it, no more brain zaps for now, I dont know what will happen after I stop taking effexor all together, we shall see in a few weeks. As for the comment above, I too have seen people have to pay out of pocket for perscriptions and its usually elderly and people like me, who had been laid off and take medications and are put into a situation of having to pay out of pocket, what to do?
Avatar f tn My nervousness ended immediately, though I had a mild headache from even one-half cup withdrawal of coffee. This morning I took Buspar and did not have any coffee, and Buspar worked much better for me. I still need the coffee, due to other medication, but I don't think that Buspar and coffee at the same time is the way to go.
Avatar f tn I really dont feel depressed at all,I feel ok when i had my clonazepan dosage, but what if I become an addict, how can I start taking pristiq and not being scared? Like I said above , i feel more anxious and panic than depressed. So Pristiq will work with my anxiety? What about Clonazepan withdrawals?
Avatar f tn This is a new symptom, and disturbing, because Buspar does seem to help anxiety for me; I even felt it was going to be a miracle drug. But I can't have anger coming out of the blue. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
467977 tn?1262714747 Do you recommend taking the Paxil at the same time as Buspar, and then another Buspar (as needed) later in the day? Or just Paxil in the morning, one Buspar in the afternoon, and one later on (I know this is according to each person, I am just curious). AND, will the Buspar actually combat the anxious feelings? Not the panic attack feelings (Paxil works for me on that), I just need to get rid of this leftover anxiety!!!!!!!!!!!
459279 tn?1206997145 I am on buspar and zoloft. I started Buspar first and I actually lost about 10 pounds after starting it. I think it depends on the person. I have heard many people say that Buspar makes them lose weight.
Avatar m tn My shrink prescribed me Buspar about 10 years ago and it worked, is non addictive and helped with my anxiety, but I not longer take it for about 3 or 4 years. I'll ask him , I'm a little concerned with the withdrawal using a long term life like Valium, I know it works, according to Dr. Ashton, but I am worried it will become addicted to it. Thanks for the input to all of you.
Avatar n tn I have been on Buspar since April and I have actually cut down on smoking and lost about 10 pounds. I have been taking walks and doing yoga. That helps.
Avatar n tn I take lithium Wellbutrin pristiq and clomping. I am going through menopause. I take about 6 six 7.5 hydros a day. I have taken the meds for 20 years, but the hydros about 2 years. Lately I have become morbidly depressed, and I need to know if you guys think its the hydros. Sometimes I do take more, but never more than 10 hydros.
431073 tn?1222177026 I have been taking buspar (5mg 2x a day) for almost 2 weeks now and I seem to be having some side effects. I have been feeling tired (due to trouble sleeping) and having headaches as well. I am also having trouble sleeping. I know that it could take a while for this med to kick in but I am still worried about the side effects. Has anyone ever taken this med and is there any advice you can give me?
1489588 tn?1303998295 When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me. I also take Norco.
Avatar f tn I just started Pristiq and Im also on ativan and abilify............wondering if anyone else has taken these meds together.I felt great after taking the pill last night now today im kinda scared and spacey feeling...any thoughts?
