Prilosec and pepcid together

Common Questions and Answers about Prilosec and pepcid together

prilosec

Avatar f tn I've had occassional PVC's for 20 plus years. I also have Mitral Valve Prolaps. About 2 months ago I started taking Prilosec for reflux. I then began to have a huge increase in the number of PVC's. Sometimes lasting all day. I've been on an event monitor for the past 2 weeks. I didn't even think that to relate this increase in PVC's to the Prilosec until about a week ago.
Avatar m tn If so are H2 meds like Pepcid and Zantac ok, or are PPI meds like Prilosec and Prevacid better? Thanks and have a great day!
2169449 tn?1358489923 I actually saw my Ob yesterday and he told me I could use gas x pepcid prilosec to help the pain from the bubbles. I must admit I took gas x this morning and don't feel as bad.
Avatar f tn I took one and I had a bad chest pain so I called again and my OBGYNs nurse said to take pepcid. But she also said all medications aren't 100% safe. Should I take it anyways?
Avatar f tn I am 18 wks pregnant and i have really bad heartburn what can i take or do for it. I can't sleep because of it.....
7797471 tn?1397188658 I'm 32 weeks and have been having the worst acid reflux and heart burn. I told my Midwife and she said Prilosec I think or it could've been Pepcid. I forgot and am not sure which one. Does anyone know?
Avatar n tn This that it goes down my throat happened 10 years ago, when I was 30 pounds heavier. I took Prilosec and then Nexium and it solved the problem then. Now (I am normal weight now), when I remember, I take Pepcid AC and it seems to solve the problem for the next night. I am thinking of taking Prilosec or Nexium to permanently stop this from happening. What do you think?
Avatar f tn They had me on Pepcid and Prilosec before but my side effects were too bad
Avatar f tn I take prilosec otc. Doc said it's ok and no amount of tums, milk, water anything else worked. Prilosec started working the next day!
1387175 tn?1326400997 my doctor will not let off prilosec i am scared i been on this medicine to long i heard alot of bad things if you take it long time you can get esophaus cancer .
Avatar m tn They never ran any tests at all, they just gave me a prescription for Pepcid 20mg. I still have problems with heartburn and chest pain more than once a week, sometimes it feels like it's in my back too, I also cough when I eat and after I eat, and it feels like I have to clear my throat, I feel nauseated after I eat especially spicy foods like onions. Does this sound like acid reflux disease, and nut cracker esophagus?
Avatar f tn Omg, I thought I would never find anyone else who has cramps that feel like labor as I do. People would think I was "faking"... wow. Now I am thinking it maybe caused by stomach uclers, I was told last year I COULD be in a "pre-ucler" stage because of my chest pains I always have, but not really in my chest, but below my breast area in the middle. I was also told to take prevacid or prilosec and told to stop taking naproxen.
Avatar f tn Famotidine is Pepcid which works in the same way that Zantac works...I didn't have much luck on Zantac so now I'm on Prilosec and it works wonderfully...but famotidine is considered safer for pregnancy then prilosec...
Avatar m tn After getting two stents I was put on plavix. I also have gerds and would like to know what medecine I cantake for it tht doesnt conflict with plavix.
Avatar f tn Pepcid is a life saver!!! Tums don't work for me and make me nauseous.
Avatar f tn I just asked my OB about this the other day and he told me to take Prilosec OTC every night before I go to bed, and it's safe and way better than tums could ever do
Avatar f tn Taking OTC meds would help you to find relief and know if reflux is possible. Pepcid, Prilosec and others are common in the Rx stores. You should ask (phone) your doctor about otc brands. They should not be a problem if taken as directed. Pepcid types are quick acting, Prilosec will kick in a bit further in the day (hour or so), both should be taken daily. I find PPIs are more powerful, so you might start with the others. I take mine before evening meal so it will last thru the nite.
Avatar f tn (between where rib cages come together) It feels tight, like someone is squeezing where my esophagus and stomach connects. The pain is amplified when I sit really straight or sneeze/laugh. I have also been belching more than normal. Could this have caused a hiatal hernia? note: I have pre-existing GERD problems that are under control.
Avatar f tn ativeASIN=B001ECQ9K8 I started with Tums, Pepcid, Zantac and tried virtually every OTC antacid but it would come back. The first Gastroentrologist who ordered a battery of tests (including endoscopy) over a period of 1 year but concluded NOTHING. While I was under his care, I was on prilosec. I have also tried ALIGN ********* which gave me some relief. I was afraid to eat. My symptoms included heartburn and bloating.
Avatar f tn My doc told me to use tums and pepcid. Also benadryl is very effective for anxiety in pregnancy and was recommended to me by doc, helped me a lot, only took when i needed to.
Avatar n tn The GERD is still present and so I have been taking Pepcid on and off, but now I have a dull ache right under my left breast in the area of what is possibly my stomach. I would like any info anyone can provide about symptoms of ulcers.
Avatar m tn Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
