Prilosec and gastritis

Common Questions and Answers about Prilosec and gastritis

prilosec

Avatar f tn I have been having some GI issues for almost 2 months now and was first diagnosed with Gastritis. For the Gastritis I was given 15 days worth of Prilosec. While on the Prilosec (and before) I had diarrhea and loose stools every day. Being as I was having that before, I never attributed it to the Prilosec but now I'm questioning whether or not the Prilosec contributed to the loose bowel movements as I am now back on Prilosec and am having loose stools once again.
Avatar m tn It comes from russia and is used for gastritis and ulcers. It is incredible. I have no pain and can eat many things I couldn't eat before. Here is the web site. Good Luck. http://www.siberiantigernaturals.com/peptic5.
Avatar f tn In us I have taken a blood test and abdominal ultrosound which is normal, then i took another endoscopy which shows mild gastritis and i am still waiting for biopsy result. My neasea is extremely severe and never go away even for one day during this 5 months episode. For this i couldn't continue my normal life, i am only 18 and very desperate and upset because of nausea. So how could this mild gastritis cause so severe symptom? Is really caused by gastritis ,????
Avatar m tn My Dr said I should have been feeling better in 1 month, but that the Nexium is stonger and the dose is higher and I might just need more time and more drug than the losec provided. She did originally tell me to give it at least the full month to feel better We are also pursuing other diagnosis, such as H.

Avatar n tn My doctor has prescribed Prilosec for gastritis I have developed after having the stomach flu two weeks ago. If gastritis is caused by H-Pylori, wouldn't it seem that antibiotics should be prescribed to kill off the bad bacteria?
Avatar f tn To Dr. Pho or Medical Gastroenterologist Available: I have developed gastritis which should have cleared up by now after 9 months or so after taking Prilosec. It started off last November 2008 with taking 2 Tablespoons of flax oil a day to stave off Macular Degeneration according to my Ophthmalogist. Thinking my sore throat was from a virus I also took 2 NSAID's every 4 hours for about 1 - 2 weeks. I know now this made it worse.
963268 tn?1312900315 Today, I take one Prilosec, 20-mg, and I have no pain. If you have gastritis and are not taken medication specifically for gastritis, your stomach lining can become worst, and you might develop an ulcer. If I were you, I would require your doctor, not his office staff, to confirm whether or not you have/had an ulcer caused by H. pylori? Also, inquire whether an acid reducer like Prilosec, Zantac, Nexium, Prevacid is prescribed for you?
1701959 tn?1488551541 It went away and only flaired up a little here and there. This past week it came back and hurt like crazy again... to put pressure there causes discomfort and eating too much seems to make it worse. I've had the blood test for H. Pylori which was negative and am going to my GI doc in 2 days. Does this sound like Gastritis? I do take a lot of motrin as tylenol does not help. Just so worried!
Avatar n tn Alright, inflammed gastric tissues is gastritis but "gastric juices inflammed" doesn't exist. What other problems are you having?
Avatar f tn They sent me home with prescriptions for nausea and pain and told me to stay on 40 mgs of Prilosec. I am nauseous all the time and if I try to eat it's even worse. I eat a very healthy diet. No meat, dairy, bread products, fatty foods. I had a banana with a little plain rice last night and about a half hour later I was sick and in pain.I'm eliminating more and more foods because I can't really eat and it's not helping.
Avatar m tn ) He could try to take a prilosec ... or other heartburn indigestion medication :) good luck!
Avatar n tn Hello, Prilosec is taken for gastritis and acid reflux. It has no reported interactions with weight loss 4 pills but it is not advisable to ue weight loss 4 pills without a doctor’s guidance. It has plenty of side effects like diarrhea, oily stools, gas, flatulence, and other systemic side effects. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I was just misdiagnosed with gastritis. I was having sharp stabbing and throbbing pains under right rib around it and extremely bad in my back behind rib cage where i couldn't walk or move. Had to go to ER twice and 12 doctor visits in the last few weeks. Was misdiagnosed (also with abdominal pain that had before this rib pain happened) many times and finally was told that it was a badly pulled muscle.
Avatar f tn said I had acid reflux and gastritis but did not take any tests other than an h. pyrloi blood test which was negative and just based it off of my symptoms. I do have a family history of various stomach issues which made him think it was IBS. After the upper endoscopy I was told I had a Hital Hernia right below my sternum where I have been having pain and that my stomach had redness. He took biopsies to check for celiac (gluten intolerance), and H. Pyroli bacteria.
Avatar m tn I had an endoscopy and they found chronic gastritis, abnormal mucosa and esophaegeal stricture, which they dilated, 6 months later I had to have it dilated again. I had another endoscopy in July 2017 and the gastritis was gone and I no longer had a stricture.
433485 tn?1321813390 I started taking the oxy at night and it does help with the severe gastritis and gerd. I feel uncomfortable and crappy all the time. I had an endoscopy last week and they said I have alot of inflammation and Barrett's esophagus and took a biopsy for h pylori. I think it's all from stress because my father is very sick in the end stages of Alzheimer's and my poor sister is in Florida taking care of him because I'm so sick and I worry about the both of them non stop.
Avatar m tn I had an endoscopy and they found chronic gastritis, abnormal mucosa and esophaegeal stricture, which they dilated, 6 months later I had to have it dilated again. Current problem: I still have heartburn and indigestion, but since October, I have been having a pain in my stomach right in the top center, it's a stabbing pain. I am also bloated from about an hour after I wake up until I go to bed.
Avatar n tn He does occasionally complain of indigestion, and has almost completely stopped eating them. The prilosec has helped too.
Avatar m tn My symptoms have included nausea, acid reflux (not diagnosed with GERD confirmed on EGD) , constipation, epigastric pain, indigestion, bitter taste in mouth, bloating, loss of appietite, and fullness in the upper abdomen. Symptoms have last the past two years, had gallbladder removed 1 week after the EGD and symptoms didn't improve. Mr Dr. who did the EGD is just a surgeon and didnt know why I have this and just really hasn't been helpful.
Avatar n tn Have you ever had thyroid antibodies tested, and do you know if you have Hashi's? Lots of us with Hashi's experience swings from hypo to hyper as the thyroid is slowly being destroyed. I ask also because Hashi's is an autoimmune disease. Once you have one autoimmune disease, you are much more likely to develop another. Celiac disease, which is gluten intolerance, is another autoimmune disease. Could something like that connect to your gastritis?
Avatar n tn The GERD is still present and so I have been taking Pepcid on and off, but now I have a dull ache right under my left breast in the area of what is possibly my stomach. I would like any info anyone can provide about symptoms of ulcers.
Avatar f tn m taking the right thing to fight it. Do mastic gum, DGL licorice, slippery elm, and OTC products like Prilosec or Prevacid, etc. cause loose stools? I'm prone to loose stools and don't want the problem to get worse. Thanks for any help and suggestions!
Avatar m tn I've been having problems for months. I have been diagnosed with gastritis and gal stones as being the root of the problems. This morning I went to the bathroom and my stool was green and brown in color, but some was coated in a yellow liquid. Should I be concerned? I'm going to the Dr. on Monday, but I was wondering if there was an urgent need to go on in? I'm taking 2 prilosec(20mg) everyday, and last night i took a bentyl(20mg).
Avatar n tn I had an EGD last week and the diagnosis was mild esophagitis and gastritis. Biopsies were neg for food allergies. About 16 yrs ago, I went to the ER while in college complaining of a burning pain in the upper chest. When I say upper, I mean about 2" below base of neck. It would bother me before and after eating. They thought it was my heart, but turns out it was acid reflux brought on most likely by excessive drinking and stress.
