Hey guys,
What issues do experience after prevpac? It is being one year since I went through H.Pylori treatment and now left with many side effects. I went through many possible tests and doctors and nobody can confirm what exactly wrong with me.
I also tried different kinds of probiotics with no success.
Does anyone have any siggestions?

I was hoping you guys could help me.I was having some minor stomach issues. swallowing was a little hard, so I went to the DR. We did a endoscope. He found: H. Pylori associated moderate chronic gastritis with some signs of intestinal metaplasia. Right now I'm taking the Prevpac (triple therapy) for the bacterium. Will this type of gastritis eventually resolve itself when the bacterium is removed?

My mom was recently diagnosed with Hep C associated cirrhosis. She has had some complications, including esophageal varices and ascites. She remains fairly well compensated and does not exhibit symptoms such as fatigue or confusion.
During an endoscopy her doctor also noticed an ulcer and tested her for H pylori (which was positive). He's prescribed Prevpac to kill the bacteria and heal the ulcer.
The doctor prescribed Prevpac. This medicine is very strong and always have bad taste in my mouth. Now I have been taking this medicine for five days. I still feel pain in the stomach especially in the early morning time close to 5 am. My question is if I am having pain due to the bacteria then by taking this medicne when should I start feeling comfortable. Could it be I have some other condition?
Also the pain seems to get worse towards the end of the day. He is miserable and frustrated. He had the prevpac which he finished today and is still in alot of pain. He has an appointment in four weeks with the doctor to see if the bacteria was destroyed but i was wondering how long would it take for him to start feeling better? is there anything else i can do for him? we are very worried and frustrated at this point.

H pylori is treated with a combination of two antibiotics, beside Prevpac, this is usually metronidazole or clarithromycin. After the treatment, another breath test is recommended to see, if infection is cured.

My wife has what appears to be a digestive problem. She has suffered with it now for four months. We are on our second gastrointerologist without relief. Her symptoms are as follows:
1. Burning sensation and pain in the sternum area. The burning and pain comes and goes but is occurring frequently.
2. Burning sensation rising from the sternum area up the esophagus to her neck. However there is not regurgitation of stomach acid.
3. Constant metallic/bitter taste in her mouth.

I had gasteritus but I finished my pills (prevpac). I have tightness in my left shoulder and it has a little lumb on the bottom of the shoulder. I have discomfort in my whole body and cant find relief.
that burrows its way into the lining of your stomach making you sick..did they give you antibiotics for it? i was dx with it in jan. 2009 and did 2 weeks of prevpac, and am currently waiting for EGD to be done next wed. to check for inflammation and a biopsy if its still there..
Originally I had bad heartburn, fullness and bloating, belching and sometimes not being able to catch a good breath. After treatment, I have minimal heartburn, bleching BUT my abdomen is in pain. It feels as if it is being squeezed and sometime crampy. This comes and goes but is very uncomfortable. Has anyone else had this experience?

Stomach ulcers are caused by the bacteria h.pylori. There is a combination of antibiotics that has a good chance of curing the infection. They are usually sold as "PrevPac" and you take them for 10-14 days, depending on what your doctor says.
However, stomach pain is not always caused by an ulcer. Antibiotics will not help with other causes, and could possibly even make your stomach pain worse. Be sure to talk to your doctor.
on 9th Day of Prevpac, I have noticed my pee sometimes get considerably yellow and foamy. After I pee there is a slight burn at the end of the urethra.. I am not sure if this is a UTI or just symptoms effects of other things.
I went on treatment for H.pylori-Prevpac(14days) and experienced the following symptoms
• Diaheria
• Rectal itch
I finished the treatment cycle yesterday and I have been suffering from
Dysuria
Pain in the lower back
Dull pain in the pelvic area and chest.
Pain in the neck and stiff shoulders.
I am confused as to what I have and a UTI is not making sense any more,I am freaking out.I have a kid and a wife and I don’t know what to do.

I took one dose of clarithromycin in a PrevPac yesterday (first day) and I started having chest pains last evening, anxiety (suicidal thoughts), weakness, couldn't think, etc..I'm stopping immediately. Just continuing with the Amoxicillin.
I was found to have H. pylori in March, 2011 and the PCP put me on Prevpac for 14-day's treatment. After I taking the 12th dose, I was felling sore throat. Since I was in vocation then, I continued to take the rest doses. later, I went to see my PCP since persistent sore throat. The PCP just said it was allegic reaction and gave me some antibiotics (erythromycin) and ratidine. However, it totally did not work and I was referred to ENT.
