Hi everyone,
My mom was recently diagnosed with Hep C associated cirrhosis. She has had some complications, including esophageal varices and ascites. She remains fairly well compensated and does not exhibit symptoms such as fatigue or confusion.
During an endoscopy her doctor also noticed an ulcer and tested her for H pylori (which was positive). He's prescribed Prevpac to kill the bacteria and heal the ulcer.
I was hoping you guys could help me.I was having some minor stomach issues. swallowing was a little hard, so I went to the DR. We did a endoscope. He found: H. Pylori associated moderate chronic gastritis with some signs of intestinal metaplasia. Right now I'm taking the Prevpac (triple therapy) for the bacterium. Will this type of gastritis eventually resolve itself when the bacterium is removed?
I took one dose of clarithromycin in a PrevPac yesterday (first day) and I started having chest pains last evening, anxiety (suicidal thoughts), weakness, couldn't think, etc..I'm stopping immediately. Just continuing with the Amoxicillin.
m on antibiotics now (Prevpac) on the 7th day of treatment today. So far the only thing that I may call side effect is constant hunger.
Also got my HBV results;
Glucose 76 65 -99 mg/dL

m not drinking them again if theirs a third time. The antibiotics have given me to many side effects. I feel the antibiotic company is getting a good sum of money. Lots of human being are taken this Prevpac treatment. Accordingly to them it works but why it keeps coming back.
I have chest pains on the left side sometimes and I cant sit still at times. I had gasteritus but I finished my pills (prevpac). I have tightness in my left shoulder and it has a little lumb on the bottom of the shoulder. I have discomfort in my whole body and cant find relief.
In my case, the answer was complex. But it could be as simple for you as a side effect of a medication. Many of them cause stomach problems if taken without sufficient food. (For me, Rifampin caused me additional stomach pain and heartburn, even when I took it with food. I switched meds when we figured that out.)
Does your stomach distress occur after a dose of meds or does it seem random?
The doctor prescribed Prevpac. This medicine is very strong and always have bad taste in my mouth. Now I have been taking this medicine for five days. I still feel pain in the stomach especially in the early morning time close to 5 am. My question is if I am having pain due to the bacteria then by taking this medicne when should I start feeling comfortable. Could it be I have some other condition?
I'm wondering if any one has ever experienced the side effect of body twitches when they started taking medication?
I don't mean small twitches, it feels like my muscle is jerking it's scary. Alot of you are telling me to ask my psychiatrist about any questions, but she works in the emerg at the hospital. I am only seeing her short-term and she doesn't take calls.
I was wondering if anyone has been or is in this situation? Should I go to the hospital or you think its an effect from the prevpac or infection??Everytime I eat food comes back up in mouthfuls. Sometimes when I don't eat or before I eat this kind of foamy liquid still comes up. When I,So for the past 11 months i've been getting chest pains... they are not always consistant, sometimes stabbing, sometimes throbbing, sometimes dull.
I know of no reports that link the development of asthma with any of the drugs in the preparation, Prevpac. In fact Clarithromycin has proven to be beneficial in the treatment of certain types of asthma.
My first thought is to question the diagnosis of asthma, with onset at age 62.
The pain he describes is soreness,tenderness,burning and stabing like sharp pain in his abdomen and back and sometimes in his side. He had bloodtests,ultrasound,ct scan and finally endoscopy with biopsy. The ultrasound and ct scan just found fatty liver but the endoscopy did show Acute and Chronic gastritis due to H Pylori bacteria. He has been in sever pain and unable to work some days due to the pain. Also the pain seems to get worse towards the end of the day. He is miserable and frustrated.
that burrows its way into the lining of your stomach making you sick..did they give you antibiotics for it? i was dx with it in jan. 2009 and did 2 weeks of prevpac, and am currently waiting for EGD to be done next wed. to check for inflammation and a biopsy if its still there..
For the most part it has been a bland diet, except for the exception of a hamburger yesterday which caused extreme discomfort. Could this be a side effect of the medicine or my stomach trying to heal still? Please let me know if I should tough it out with the antibiotics or could this be something else? I would think by now my symptoms would be going away. Any help is appreciated thanks.
