Avatar m tn PVCs (or premature preventricular contractions) and bigemeny (PVCs alternating with a normal heart beat) are frequently benign but can occasionally be so frequent as to cause the heart muscle to become weakened over time. They can be exacerbated by excessive caffeine or alcohol intake and people usually notice them the most when sitting quietly or lying in bed trying to sleep.
Avatar n tn About every 2 to 3 days I start out of nowhere with a heartbeat that skips around the 9th to 13th beat. After the skip I get a tightness then a heart beat in the lower front part of my neck where it connects to my body. This can go on for hours or even last through my sleep. I do get lightheaded sometimes and suffer with headaches fairly often. I don't know if they are related or if the Stacker 3 diet pills may be the cause.
Avatar m tn This time though, I was feeling the palpitations/flutters so I took my pulse and feel a long pause in my heart beat. I went to the doctor who said it sounded like a preventricular contraction. They did an EKG, Echo, and put me on a Holter Monitor. All came out normal. In 48 hours, I did not have one PVC although i marked several events that felt like like a flutter. The cardiologist said it could be anxiety (which I am under alot of lately plus having a history of panic disorder).
Avatar m tn A rate of 200 for a full week nonstop seems a bit excessive. Is this when you had all the tests done. In general a fast heart beat will not harm you if your heart is healthy but I don't feel it prudent to let such a high rate continue for an extended period of time especially a whole week. Have you been put on any meds to try and control the issue? Have you been offered an EP study and ablation to try and correct the issue once and for all?
Avatar f tn And some can have ten thousand per day. Some only get them once in a blue moon. Either preventricular contractions or preatrial contractions are common occurances. They're just like the occasional stomach ache really.
Avatar f tn Okk so im 38+2 and at the hospital cuz my bby heart beat dropped for about a min n having sum contractions lets seee wat the drs tell me anyone had these suggestions??
Avatar m tn At times i experience missing heart beat after taking a meal. Is there any remedy for this problem?
Avatar n tn With an EF of 40-45, Coreg should be on the list, as it helps the heart to beat stronger, thus move more blood with each beat. Optimum BP should run around 110-115 over 60 to low 70's, with resting heart rate between 60-70, so medications should be dosed accordingly. Also, Lasix, if fluid retention is present, should be on your med list, in a dose that will bring the fluid into normal range.
Avatar f tn I'm 27 weeks n 4 days doctor say my baby have an irregular heart beat. I'm stressed don't kno what to do.
8400602 tn?1398226933 When can you see the babys heart beat ? I went to my very first appointment this past Tuesday and my ob couldn't see my babys heart beat so he decided to do a ultrasound by my private part and he still couldn't find it . I have to go in two weeks and today im having my hormones check .
Avatar f tn For any of you full term mommas what is the highest your babies heart beat been. When I went to the doc they freaked because her heart beat was in the 170's but I went to l&d for contractions and her heart beat stayed between 170 and 200+ but they said that's normal but the woman just seemed to want me to leave so idk.... its a bit unnerving knowing her heart beat is so high.
Avatar f tn Sir, my father's brain ct scan impression conclusion says " cerebral atrophy with preventricular ischemic changes".....kindly pls tell me what this symptom actually is and what treatment should be made and why and when this happens!!

Avatar m tn Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVCs) tend to be the most common form of a benign irregular beat. Looking at the EKG will reveal a very pronounced "QRS" wave for PVCs. The QRS wave is the biggest wave on the ECG normally, during a PVC it takes on a bizarre profile and is quite noticeable. An example of PVCs can be seen here http://library.med.utah.edu/kw/ecg/mml/ecg_trigem_pvc.html PVCs are usually benign, occur in about 60% of the population.
Avatar f tn I can say that his nighttime heart rate readings suggest that he does have increased vagus nerve tone, which can slow down the heart rate. This can be more associated with respiratory variation, as well. As long as he has adequate blood flow to his brain and kidneys, I am not so concerned with the actual heart rate being in the 50's-60's. This is not likely to be long QT syndrome. Heart block is probably also of low likelihood here.
Avatar m tn I wore a Holt about 10 years ago for 24 hours. They said I was "throwing triplets" and that it was due to stress I was experiencing at the time. I tried to get my records several years ago to go to another physician and they said my they could not find my records. What is the term "throwing triplets"? I notice when I get extremely tired or stressed my heart seems to beat incorrectly.
Avatar m tn I started to feel my heart beat in my chest, right in my pectoral (male breast for those of you who did not know XD ) I did feel pauses, brief, but they were there. Then when my Heart beat went normal, i still could feel my beats in my pectoral, but for every heart beat i felt, i felt it in my pulse too. Kinda, only kinda, felt like my heart was struggling to beat, but it could have been the way the heart was beating that i felt that way. There was no panic, no symptoms what so ever.
Avatar f tn s (premature ventricular contractions) in which they said, in my case, was benign in nature, that my heart is structurally normal. Of course, I'm not suggesting you have any arrythimias. But, if you are having any concerns at all, you most definately deserve to know what is going on, even if it's not dangerous. It can help put your mind at ease too. You say that you 'have had cardiograms which never caught the occurance.
Avatar f tn Premature atrial contractions and/or premature ventricular contractions are the terms used for when the heart tosses out an extra beat (feels like a skipped beat). They can be isolated beats, in patterns, runs, etc. The key is whether you have a structurally normal heart. That's determined by an echocardiogram. Did your husband have an echo? Murmurs can range from innocent to serious. Do you have any more information as to the type of the murmur.
Avatar n tn I am 30 years old and have been experiencing discomfort in my heart for the last couple of months. It feels like it misses a beat and beats hard soon after the skip. It is as if my heart is doing a tumble in my chest. I exercise frequently and have a stressfull job. I am worried that my heart will stop. I have no idea what is wrong with me. I attended my GP a number of months ago and was told that i do not have high blood pressure. I dont know how else to explain my symptoms.
980510 tn?1282010946 for me i have a constant heart beat, and then sometimes it will go to that whisteling noise and then back to heart beat..weirdest thing...sometimes its so loud i have to ask people to stop talking for a second or two..til either calms down a bit, its very distracting.......yesterday i didnt have it after i was awake awhile NO noise at all i was like woohooo awesome, then i decided to chew a piece of gum MISTAKE! the heart beat came back.. Avatar n tn Thank you for your question. I have around 600 VPC's every hour and it has been going on for a little over a year. Sometimes my heart will go a full 10 beats between VPC but usually only three or four between VPC's. I was on a calcium beta blocker for a year without any improvement. I have asthma but they are currently trying a beta blocker. The doctor seems not too concerned--maybe that is the way cardeologists work???
3185867 tn?1348434443 So im at labor n delivary and im watching the moniter my litte guys heart beat is only 118-123 that seems waaaaaaay low compared to his normal 140s 150s?? Help! Is this okay?!
Avatar n tn I have read that sometimes people think the heartbeat after a pause such as occurs with pvc or pac is a late heartbeat or they feel like their heart is skipping a beat. Could this be what you are thinking?
Avatar m tn I feel my heart beat is missing when I miss to take dinner or lunch or have got fever or loose motions this complain. I am feeling since last 10 years my Age :- 43yrs height :- 6.1feets wt :-90kg i am going on regullar walk and i have done my following investigations half yearly with cardiologist consultation .
Avatar n tn Since the beat is originating in the ventricles, the atrium does not contract for that beat. Since the heart is refractory, the next time the sinus node (located in the right atrium) is ready to beat, it won't because the heart hasn't refilled from the PVC yet. So it waits until the NEXT time it would usually beat. This is why you feel a pause in your pulse. It is not a missed beat, like it feels. Yes, they can make you tired, or they can come when you are tired.
Avatar f tn This happend to me in my first pregnancy and I had emergency csection because my blood pressure was really high and the babys heart beat was slowing down...
1282416 tn?1271439654 Some cells in the lower/ventricle portions of your heart are misfiring and causing your heart to beat a couple times in a row. Or you could have pacs/premature atrial contractions which is the same thing but an extra beat arising from the atria. Or you could have sinus tachycardia where your heart starts to beat too fast in general.
