prevacid for heartburn

You can take Prevacid. I went to go buy it at Walgreens today it's $13. My heartburn isn't that bad yet though so I am gonna hold off on buying it.

Is it safe to take Prevacid 24 hr. for heartburn if you are on a beta blocker, Atenolol? I am asking for my daughter who is 28 yrs. old.

Omgosh me too. I have horrible heartburn as well. I am a tums eater and that holds me over for a little while then it comes right back. Please share if you have a resolution to this madness of heartburn. I'm 33+5 weeks so I'm trying to deal because it almost over.

My boyfriend has been dealing with weird stomach issues for the past few months. He doesn't have insurance and refuses to pay for a dr out of pocket. But it starts in the morning...he'll wake up and his stomach will burn and he'll end up vomiting from it. He'll then have 3-4 bowel movements that day that are loose. This doesn't happen all the time...last time he vomited was a couple months ago but it happened again today. He ends up feeling fine by midday.

Hi I have had GERD for a few years now. I've never had halitosis. Recently my reflux started acting up, so i doubled my prevacid. I'm not sure what is causing my very horrid halitosis. I have figured out it is not dental related. In fact when I burp, I can feel the hot yucky gas coming up from my stomach. A recent google showed that prevacid can cause a side effect of halitosis. Other comments insist it is the GERD but I am not entirely convinced.

Have you tried the Baking Soda recipe on the box for heartburn? It's worked for me when others have failed. Hope your feeling better.. I'm having it right now to!

No matter what I eat I get heartburn all the time. Tums and rolaids don't seem to help at all. Anything you suggest??? Also I heard that heartburn is a sign that your baby will be born with a full head of hair. Any truth in this?

Anybody know any good remedies for the most intense,persistent heartburn??

I feel ur pain i always feel like my throat an chest are on fire i was using tums but i couldnt take it Dr gave me something stronger ...

Thanks for quick reply. I've been taking for about a week. It has really Helped the heartburn but the nausea is miserable. My hope is that it will improve as not eating because of nausea is not a solution.

Prevacid took mine totally away. Mine was horrible!

After taking Prevacid, I gain my appetite back. The problem is, I have develope new symptoms after taking prevacid for 1 week. I am having very loose bowel movements, blood on the toliet paper when I wipe, indigestion, lower abdominal pain. Most importantly is I am having more frequent heartburn and chest pain, which I don't have when I am on the H2 blocker.

Anyone know what is safe to take for heartburn? Its killing me and I don't know what's OK to take.

Buy Prevacid off the counter , ob recommended it for me & it has worked.

Heartburn is common while on tx. OTC drugs like Prilosec and prevacid are ok to take.......... Plus it doesn't matter when you take them, not the same with anti-acid pills...........

what works for one person may not work for another, in my case what works for me 1 week my not work the next, my body gets used to the product- so my Dr. tells me. OTC products can be doubled if the strenght on the box does not work---Try Pepsid AC they have a 10 & 20 mg....(the perscription for that is Axid 300mg)....I have been on them all, but not the ones with Sodium Bicarbonate like Zegerid OTc....

I've had horrible heartburn for months, I've been taking zantac, my doctor said its fine to take, some doctors even prescribe it. It does wonders, seriously a lifesaver!

Take 24 Prevacid for heartburn.

I am currently suffering from acid reflux and tried those OTC meds. Prilosec worked the best for me. However, I haven't been feeling that great and the doc prescribed Prevacid at 30mg twice a day along with 1g of Amoxil and Biaxin. My H. Pylori test came back negative so I could stop the Amoxil and Biaxin. It might take a while but he tells me it will work. On the other hand, a friend of mine had severe reflux and the doc prescribed Protonix.

As the title said, I am a 50 year old healthy female(with normal BMR). I used to have bad heartburn years ago, but was able to treat it with change in diet and prevacid. I actually haven't taken this medication for a few years. Then about a month ago, I started getting heartburn, along with nausea and vomiting. Soon, I also had bitter taste in my mouth. I got prescription for prevacid again from my doc, and I also tried OTC meds(tums, etc), but none of them worked.
