Testosterone causes hair growth. I wonder if you could safely take that alone for hair growth? However, it could cause some facial hair. That would be something you need to weigh the pros and cons. From what I understand, hair loss is a normal part of menopause. I guess it depends on the degree of your hair loss as to whether you want to do something about it. This is the Ovarian Cancer forum. You might want to find an area of MedHelp that would pertain more to your particular problem.
Since you used it for such a short amount of time, it probably only caused the growth of pubic hair and not much else. Did it at least correct the fused labia? Well, I hope that you get some answers from the endocrinologist. Good luck to you and your baby girl.
Another interesting thing....I had been losing hair for a long time and could not figure out why.....my NP tested my vitamins and I found out I was lacking in vitamin D, so I started taking 3,000 mg. of vitamin D daily and my hair loss subsided a lot. I hope this all helps you.
(irregular periods, then no periods at all, then developed ovarian cysts, then developed large fibroids and had hysterectomy), moon face and neck swollen, facial hair growth, strange hump at the back of my neck, weird looking purple marks on my stomach, breasts, hips, thighs, night sweats, heart alternates between skipping beats and rapid beating and the list of symptoms goes on and on.
I had the same thing with the Yaz. I was on Yasmin and switched to Yaz and promptly gained about 5 or more pounds. No problems at all with Yasmin, and I was on it for 5 or more years. I still work out like I did on Yasmin, and I've never eaten a lot, although, the Yaz does make me hungry all the time, and I can't seem to get rid of this bloating. I spot constantly and cramp. I have another friend that is the same way.
In this center, after many exams, including PCR and common and fungal cultures, with results always negative I was diagnosed with an excess of lactobacilli (lactobacilocis) or cytolytic vaginosis, according to clinical and microbiological findings, without fungal growth, which may be responsable for all my symptoms described previously, due to a vaginal hyperacidity and cellular lysis. I have also a vaginal biopsy, for several vaginal zones, which is normal.
Colostrum contains immune factors, immunoglobulins, antibodies, proline-rich polypeptides (PRP), lactoferrin, glycoproteins, lactalbumins, cytokines (eg, interleukin, and interferon), growth factors, vitamins, and minerals. There also is a constituent isolated from bovine colostrums that is responsible for uterine and intestinal contraction, and lowering of blood pressure.

Most older women are losing bone due to their combined sex steroid, DHEA, Vitamin D, and growth hormone deficiencies. The solution is not life-long hypothyroidism, but the correction of their other deficiencies." In the same link, also note this statement, " the ultimate criterion for dose adjustment must always be the clinical response of the patient.
5 years on nothing, I have not grown unwanted hair, if anything, I think that there is less hair growth on my legs and underarms....there are a few stranggly ones on my chin, but, that happens with age, ovaries or no ovaries.....I am also just as feminine as I was before, if not more so cause I can always wear sexy panities and not have to worry about getting my period.....I will say that the hot flashes, for me, are horrid.....

After a few months I started experiencing burning after sex and pain during sex. I went to the gyno and got tested for all the STDs and was totally fine. I stopped having sex for awhile and then we started again about 2 months ago being really careful. Everything was getting better, but then last Monday we had sex twice in a row and it really hurt the second time and has been hurting since. It's a constant stinging and itching and intense irritation that won't go away.
Generally speaking, ovarian cancer is not hormone sensitive, but there are certain kinds that are - mine is, and I found this out after taking 1.25mg of Premarin for 9 months during and following my first round of chemo. I may never know if that's why my cancer came back so quick, but now that I know, I've been told to avoid all types of Estrogen, bio-identical or not. Trust me, that's been tough seeing as I'm only 28!
I also have had a severe loss of hair, and the texture has changed so dramatically, any new growth is completely different than it was before. My face and hair have been casing me problems for 4 years. Could any of these be caused by Kenalog or Synvisc? This discussion is related to Kenalog Injection - side effects.
I am 23 and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 15 years old. I struggled with weight gain, facial hair growth, skin discoloration, and infertility. The first time my husband and I saw a doctor was 3 years ago and he prescribed me clomid, at first 50 mg which I ovulated the first cycle but then never agian after that even with increased mg. We were so discouraged. The doctor prescribed me glucophage (1000 mg daily) and then we decided to take a break from treatment.
and have been experiencing new hair growth on my legs and arms and face. I am very tired and sometimes weak/shaky. My skin has suddenly become very dry. Old age could be the cause, although (post-hysterectomy) I have also been on premarin 0.265 mg for years without problems. I am not sensitive to cold, I am not constipated, I occasionally have an (unrelated?) mildly rapid or irregular heartbeat. I do know that being older changes the effects of many medications in unexpected ways.
What type of hormones are you taking? Are you on Premarin? Or on any other synthetic hormones? Or on the vaginal ring? or the Vivelle patch? Estratest? Bioidentical Progesterone? And, what about testosterone, either gel or cream, which we women can use "off-label" but some formulas can be put on the cliteral/genital area and work wonders regarding the issue you mentioned.
But if you want to give yourself a fighting chance of maintaining your success down the line, you will have a much better shot if you start with a more balanced approach that lets you enjoy good food, family celebrations, and the twists and turns that life inevitably takes - without making false promises.
She was ravenous, those few short months were fantastic, both in desire and response,, however two things, an internal tension, aggressive feelings, (i know about those, live with it every day), and hair growth. During this same time, she was getting laser therapy for bikini line, lips, underarm hair removal, and the shots were counterproductive. I pleaded for her to just cut the dose, anything to keep some compatibility.
request a dose measurement device when you order. Part of the cream can be rubbed on the back of your knees, you can easily monitor hair growth there, if your outer vaginal lips are dry or shriveled you can rub a little there and on your clit. You will feel better, you will feel sexier, you will stop obsession on your husband, you will find yourself standing up a lot straighter and looking around. This will make you happier, it will very likely make you more attractive to your husband...
For sure don't take Premarin (pregnant mare's urine). We are not horses and it is not natural for humans. Sepia is a much better choice - it corrects our hormones without side effects. However, it is not birth control. - i had an IUD many years ago and should have sued - but I didn't. I ended up with a PID and had to have a hysterectomy.
the makers of Premarin and Prempro. Hmmm. Based on hereditary and how many children one has had...body types...environmental issues...yes, there will be differences regarding reactions to radical hysterectomies (ovaries removed), but if you start to see a rise in cholesterol...blood sugar issues, cravings, bone loss, thyroid issues, difficulty thinking and concentrating (all progesterone issues...
He then saw several leasions and thought that I might have cancer so he did a biopsy which came back negative.(Thank goodness). He then put me on premarin and a vaginal estrogen cream to be used daily as he said that my vagina looked like that of a much older woman not a 50 year old. It has shortened and thinned out. He found it very odd that this would happen so soon after my hysterectomy. While I do not have hot flashes or not sweats any more, the pain and bleeding has not improved.
Frankly, I do not know much about the HRT drugs that are prescribed, such as Premarin and Prempro except that I won't use them. Prempro has Progestagen, or Progestin in it, which is a synthetic Progesterone, and would not be used by anyone without a uterus, since it was mainly developed to counter one of the side effects (although rare) of using the synthetic estrogen (Premarin)...the side effect they were worried about is uterine cancer.
My neighbor's mo-in-law, on the other hand, has had one and is on Premarin (which I think has horse urine in it??)...It works for her! So there's 2 completely different cases. That's what makes me wonder how the hormone levels can be okay with the ovaries.
The pituitary responds by secreting hormones that regulate growth and thyroid and adrenal function, and sex hormones such as estrogen and testosterone. One of the pituitary's main functions is to secrete ACTH (adrenocorticotropin), a hormone that stimulates the adrenal glands. When the adrenals receive the pituitary's signal in the form of ACTH, they respond by producing cortisol. Completing the cycle, cortisol then signals the pituitary to lower secretion of ACTH.
Natural hormones (bio-identical hormones) can really help some women with weight gain and moods, facial hair etc. Fibromyalgia is a pet of mine...I have it. I find SAMe works wonders, it increases circulating serotonin and helps with the pain - double whammy - depression and pain relief. I also adopt a low oxalate diet and that has also improved my pain. After 4 years I am nearly pain free.
not only is it not safe, it is not fda approved, and the news said it is illegal in some states. so go and check further into it before you take this. im not going to say what i think about it, your choice, just what i read.
Many symptoms... that individually looked like nothing, but together were frightening. In order of most to least noticeable: pale skin, weak appetite, no interest in physical activity, inability to concentrate, and constipation. However, the Big One that the doctor noticed was a deceleration on his growth chart. He hadn't grown more than a couple centimeters in a year's time.
I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT BECAUSE I SHAVE DOWN THERE AND THOUGHT THEY MIGHT JUST BE HAIR OR RAZOR BUMPS. BY THE NEXT DAY THE BUMPS WERE MORE PAINFUL. IT WAS BEGINNING TO BECOME UNCOMFORTABLE TO SIT, STAND, OR EVEN WALK. I THEN GREW CONCERNED. BY THE NEXT DAY THEY HAD OPENED UP AND WERE OPEN BLISTERED AREAS. NOW THEY LOOK REALLY BAD AND IT SEEMS TO BE SPREADING. THE LESIONS HAVE A WHITE ***** LOOKING FILM OVER THEM. THEY 10 TIMES MORE PAINFUL.
