Avatar f tn s including Prozac have weight gain as a side effect, they increase the urge to eat as a side effect - Prozac is supposed to not do this and cause weight loss but if you read beyond the drug company propaganda you will find a host of people who gained weight on Prozac just as they did on every other AD.

Avatar n tn As we exercise we build lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so the scale reflects no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. Hope this helped you.

I had already put on 30lbs from lexapro, which is part of becoming depressed again. I have been on the Abilify for 6days now & can tell it is having a positive impact on me. I have had enough motivation to work out the past two days & I am really watching what I'm eating. Has anyone here had success with losing weight on Abilify & prozac?

Avatar f tn I'm on 10mg of Prozac and have noticed some weight gain within the past 2 months or so and my doctor has suggested I start taking Wellbutrin along with the Prozac but my biggest concern is having panic attacks. I suffer from panic disorder w/ agoraphobia and the Prozac has been helping but I'm afraid that adding on the Wellbutrin may counteract that. (I know it is considered a stimulant for a lot of people - hence the usual weight loss.

Avatar m tn Try sticking with lean meats (fish, chicken, lean cuts of beef/pork), low/no fat dairy, lots of fresh/frozen veggies, which would be whatever is available, whether it be beans, squash, lettuce, broccoli (both raw and cooked), cauliflower (both raw and cooked), potatoes (limit the white potatoes), sweet potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, celery. Eat fresh fruit, but since many fruits have high sugar content, you should not stick with only 1-2 servings/day.

Avatar n tn It might help you lose weight, depending on how small the portions are, but it's not healthy... You aren't eating anything that has protein, at all and what you're eating has very few vitamins/minerals, like B-12, calcium, etc. You need to add some type of meat, dairy, eggs, beans, legumes or something with protein and since vitamin B-12 only comes from animal products you either need to supplement or add some of those animal products to your diet.
