Common Questions and Answers about Percocet vs fioricet

percocet

I have been reading this forum for a couple weeks. I have admitted my Fioricet problem to my husband and am ready to help myself. I have tried before but am now determined. There does not seem to be much online about this drug but am desperate to find someone who has had the same addiction. It has a barbituate it so it is tricky to come off of but I hear it can be done. Anyone who has been there it would be a miracle to hear from you as I have never met anyone with the same addiction.
I've had my liver enzymes be elevated before due to the Fioricet but currently they're ok. Thank God I'm allergic to Xanax and Percocet. I'd love life without drugs, headaches and neck pain. I can't believe people who say they rarely get a headache...I wish.
I can never hold the ice pack on head long since i get brain freeze lol I was going to ask this questions last night about hot water bottles vs ice packs.
I was able to take both Fioricet w/codeine and tylenol 3 during my pregnancies. They like you to quit with them the last 2 months of the pregnancy so that the baby will not have addiction issues. I do not know if these drugs will even help your pain. I take mine for cluster headaches and migraines. My girlfriend recently had a baby and then had back surgery two months after. I don't know what, if any, medications she took.
I, in my ignorance of a first visit, tried to post this in an archived thread. I'd still like to but it may seem somewhat "out of place...sorry...:-( /////////////////////////////////////////// Hello everyone, I am not bragging but my two cents worth on the MS vs OXY is this. (BTW: I had a botched surgery of c2,5&6 20 years ago, pain is my constant companion, but thank the Lord I'm mobile in all ways. In any case if you fire them up there is not much difference....
IF YOU DO THE MATH....5 80 MG OXYCONTIN (BY THE WAY TWICE DAILY) IS EQUIVILANT TO 80 Percocet AT ONCE! STILL HERE TO TALK ABOUT IT, THAT IS THE REAL SURPRISE!
It's so sad, but right now, the best Christmas present I could get would be a bottle of Percocet. Isn't that sad/sick/morbid? Lord help me.... Anyway, I just wanted to let everybody know I love you and believe in you. You aren't alone at all. You are each so special and wonderful. I hope that doesn't sound too corny, because I mean it. I love each of you.
Why do you suppose it was easier or should I say more "successful" in getting off the other drug vs. fiorinal? I can't believe the insidious grip it has on you once you've abused it. If taken "as needed" it's perfect for tension headaches that morph into migraines. Plus, saves you a fortune from always resorting to Imitrex.
BTW, Fiorinal is a Class III drug, with or without Codeine. It is monitored by the DEA. But, they screwed up with Fioricet and Esgic. Both plain F/cet and plain Esgic (and the generics) are Class IV drugs, and are not considered "controlled - and are not monitored like Class III's. Don't ask me why. So, if anyone is doctor shopping or using multiple pharmacies, ask for Esgic or Fioricet (plain) and you'll be safer!
I wish it wasn't so and I'm sure plenty of people have great NA experences -- but not me, and, apparently, CHAD, not you, either. Don't get hung up on on AA vs NA -- USE WHAT WORKS!!!!!!!!!
I do remember laying in bed for three days with a migraine while in college, before they had good drugs like Maxalt and Imitrex. And I remember drugs like Percocet/Darvon that made me vomit, and other narcotics that made me sleep for days.
