Percocet vs fioricet

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet vs fioricet

percocet

Avatar n tn Percocet will not help with Fioricet withdrawl. Percocet is an opiate and fioricet is a barbituate. It would be wise to inform the doctor because stopping fiorocet abruptly could be dangerous.
Avatar n tn Fioricet addiction is a pain, expensive, embarrasing....I hate it. I was addicted to Ambien and Cloranzepam and got off both of them by slowly shaving a bit of the pill away every three days. It takes a while but is possible and it made it bearable. I, too, wonder how I will manage my migraines without it. I also have 3 herniated discs in my neck, C4-C6, and the Fioricet helps with the neck spasms and pain. Any suggestions on how to handle the challenges without Fioricet?
Avatar f tn Hi there- Are you saying you already took the Tramadol that you know nothing about? That's not safe... Tramadol is entirely different. It's an opiate like pain med. It's addicting like Fioricet though. Also, Fioricet is a barbiturate and it should never be stopped abruptly due to seizure risk. Anyway, it's not the same at all but it is a pain reliever. I don't know how well it would work for a headache. I doubt it's as effective as Fioricet. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn These Dr. Here is setting me up to fail as they now gave me scripts for percocet! What a test! LoL! Im now in the car heading home and posting as I'm 2min away of ripping up my script! Thank you for letting me post! Honestly I really feel that reading and posting here helped alot with my W/D mentally! aLoHa...
Avatar f tn Thanks honey, I know, I'm being careful....that's why I'm asking....just want to cover my butt....I don't want to do anything to hinder my progress, but still need relief on occasion. I will NOT ABUSE To Catmagnet: Best of luck to you....this is a great site for help and support. This is kind of a different situation as far as the drugs we're talking about....I'm not taking the fioricet to curb an urge for percocet....my DOC, it's for pain....
Avatar m tn are there any home remedies for headaches after cervical fusion c-5,c-6,c-7 i have tried caffine , percocet, heat, ice, lying down, sleeping with the collar on was helping but seems to be less effective as time goes by
Avatar n tn Hi. I had been taking fioricet (no codeine) for approximately 10 years, first for relentless headaches and later for a cervical spine problem. I took 3 a day on average and never took more than four when my pain was at it's worst. It didn't rid me of the pain, but seemed to at least allow me to function. I began getting concerned and tried to stop taking, but it was obvious that my body was addicted. My doc corrected me and said I was dependent.
Avatar m tn Fentanyl is a stonger form of an opioid. Opiate and opioid mean the same thing: Opiate is an adjective while opioid is a noun. Percocet is an opioid as is fentanyl. They are synthetic which means they are man made and not derived from a plant. Good job on getting off the Percocet!
Avatar f tn t have had any kind of withdrawal going to Percocet from Vicodin. Whatever occured was unrelated. Percocet is stronger than Vicodin. Try not to over think this. It will be what it is...it won't be the worst thing you'll go through. Just not pleasant. It's truly like having the flu...
Avatar m tn I am having kidney stones and the doctor put me on Percocet and told me to stop the Norco..Is Percocet stronger than Norco? The stones are killing me.
Avatar f tn I have been taking fioricet with codeine for years for migraines & pain associated with lupus. I did something really stupid and took a Percocet a few days before going to pain clinic appointment, of course I failed the test, first time ever happened. Nurse said tests showed up for hydrocodone. I have a prescription for from a dentist. I wasn't suppose to get filled a year ago but nurse said don't do again. She asked me if it helped.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been prescribed percocet while pregnant? If so, how was your baby? I'm paranoid to take it.
Avatar f tn I have a very addictive personality and have been using different drugs over the past 4 yrs (percocet, lortab, tylenol with codeine, fioricet with codeine, etc), just to give you guys an idea of how long this has been going on. I have only been taking the Tramadol for about 6 months (no other drugs). Any advice will be greatly appreciated, as well as any prayers!
1151955 tn?1262643533 I personally did not have mood changes in a bad way. My insurance stopped paying for brand oxycontin so I was switched to Methadone for pain management. My mood definitely changed on those. It was awful. So I went back to the oxycontin and pay out of pocket. We all react differently so you very well could be reacting to the oxycontin. However taking a medication and having to take more than what is prescribed is not good for you long term.
Avatar f tn ve had migraines since I was a teenager that within the past four to five years have become chronic. Within those last few years my doctors have been prescribing hydrocodone to fioricet with codeine (not at the same time). I am -very- aware of how addicted I get to both of these but am absolutely terrified of getting off the pain killers because of the pain I have everyday. I have been taking either at about 4-6 a day.
Avatar m tn He performed a couple of electrical type tests to my hand and arm which have obvious nerve damage, gave me a prescription for fioricet and sent me on my way. It was very disappointing that I was unable to describe any of my symptoms or discuss any issues with him but he was very abrasive and in a hurry. He is one of the few neurologists in the area that will work with workman’s compensation patents so I feel as if I am stuck.
