percocet

1390687 tn?1281157239 i wound up in a hospital because i threw 250 times a day and started throwing up blood. i got dehydrated. my blood pressure and blood sugar shot up out of control. coming off of this is far worse than the patches and they sucked. i am on my 3rd day now and slowly getting better. it is the hardest thing i have ever done. i feel for all of you and i blame dr's because instead of figuring out what was wrong with me they just shelled out pain meds.
Avatar f tn what is used to detox from percocet and how long does it take with drugs or cold turkey?
539990 tn?1219474755 I dont know about using a sleep med without physicians orders. Some conflict with anti-depr. such as Xanax as well as if you are taking other (blood pressure, tylenol etc.) meds. You may need some heavy duty sleep pills that dont have as much dependancy problems as well. I wish you luck. I hate to sound cliche but you better check all this out with your family phys. I could not find my own solution in the beginning but my MD helped me out huge in the sleep dept.
497143 tn?1209740782 That may be in the form of giving methadone for the more serious addicts or giving clonidine, which is a blood pressure medication that helps with the symptoms. If his withdrawal is being treated, he has a choice. He could go to rehab or tell his doctor and get off the stuff, or he'll go right back to where he was. My money is on option 2. I doubt there is anything you can do to stop him from continuing to abuse his meds.
Avatar f tn You can try asking a physician to prescribe you some Requip for restless legs, Neurontin for overall distress, Clonidine for blood pressure and general anxiety control and maybe get some over the counter Valerian for sleep and sedation. But, seriously, you must be completely committed to the goal of quitting. I have written a blog that has rather detailed information about options for detox. If you click on my name and then click on blogs you will see one under that heading.
973849 tn?1274946979 I have had only had a few previous pain problems in my life. I have to work and have generally just taken Ibuprofen. The last two years I have had increasing pain. Pretty intense the last year. I have to keep my job and home so I still just take Ibuprofen. I found out I had very big benign tumors. I had an artery embolism to try to help. It causes great pain especially the fist night in the hospital.
Avatar f tn So I'm a few days post-op and already out of the hospital. Feeling weak and tired. My neck hurts and chest feels like my heart is racing. I tried checking my blood pressure and my monitor won't even read it. Does it get better?
Avatar f tn Clonidine is very helpful for the creepy-crawly feeling and control of blood pressure variations. It will make the withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter. The residual symptoms of insomnia and depression can last another few months. Thus, it is not easy, but it gets better and better over time and you both can look forward to a drug free healthy energetic person in the future.
527890 tn?1263783127 Truvada (HIV meds), Marinol (appetite), Valium (stress from the pain), and Percocet (started for peripheral neuropathy). My percocet use over the past few years has dramatically increased due to the non specific body pain I feel in most of my major joint areas, including in order of pain are: back, neck, knees, shoulders, hips, hands, feet over the past few years. Pain is soothed with heating pad, but at time it feels like I am being stabbed especially in behind my knees.
Avatar f tn I have buzzing in my ear this has been going on for along time I know they said I need a earing aid but to expensive the insurance will not covered but what I am most worried about is the really bad pressure in my head like somebody hitting on my head with a hammer I feel that I am going to faint I have already gone to the doctors and the ers they did mri and scat scan blood work nothing came up everything look
Avatar m tn I stopped 4 months ago and my blood pressure went to 160/110 so the Dr said I had to take it and refused to give me blood pressure meds because its fine when I take the meds. 2 questions: How should I taper to ease any side effects? I am a professional and a father and do not want to become a monster through this. Could the raised bp be a withdrawal effect? If so how long should I expect that to last. Thank you anyone that takes the time to read and reply.
Avatar n tn It mainly feels like pressure, as if something is being squeezed there, and I feel discomfort when pressure is placed anywhere on my abdomen - even bra straps and waistbands are highly uncomfortable. Pain level varies from around a 2 to 7-8 when it's severe but is never entirely gone. Eating too much at one time or not eating enough tend to exacerbate it (from change of pressure), but eating moderate amounts at regular times does not make it better or worse.
Avatar f tn I just started taking the benzos to help with the hallucinations, the high blood pressure due to the anxiety. Ive found this forum to be very supportive, my eldest know, supportive,vs the other ones who.just complain. I had another post, retred weiner, i wein so i dont get sick ;c. You do the math..Its terrible.

But I need the advice..I have a family party to go to today I cant be all in pain and **** with my head and its OUTSIDE! wonderful....
Avatar m tn Hi I had 2 surgeries over the last few months and I was put on percocet 5/325 for 4-5 months now. after this first month I knew I was addicted as I was taking 10-12 a day. At the end I was taking 20-25 pills a day. I ran out and decided I wanted to quit and went into pretty heavy withdrawals no sleeping, eating, etc. I told my doctor what I was going through and he gave me another script so I could use them to taper down on. I have them held for me so I don't have full access to them.
Avatar f tn I am for the second time comming down off of percs. flu feelings etc. i have noticed that when i took an abian at night, all the pain went away. so in the morning i took 1/2 of an ambian and it worked. no pain. i quit cold turkey twice and this time i'm using the ambian...it helps and i hope to get my knee operated on soon so i don't have to go through thins again!
Avatar m tn I have cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic pain and depression due to all I am going through. I take the following meds each day: Gabapentin 12 x 300mg Hydromorph 2 x 4.5 mg Percocet 8 x 5mg Amitryptaline 3 x 25 mg Cymbalta 90 mg Amlodipine 5 mg My pain is constant and I am having a hard time dealing with everything. I don't know how much longer I can deal with all this..sometimes I think about suicide so I won't be a burden to my family having to deal with me.
1734102 tn?1310442098 Symptoms include increased blood pressure, insomnia, hot and cold flashes, sweating, extreme restlessness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and restless leg syndrome. There is a huge difference between physical dependence and addiction. The fact that you have taken the percocet at the same dose for 8 years and not asked for an increase tells me that you are not addicted.
Avatar n tn I have a fear of addiction, so I was taking percocet for two weeks and then tylenol 4 for two weeks. I went away and left my percocet, but had four tylelnol 4. I had gone through withdrawal with tylenol 4. I used to not take it for a week to give my body a rest. The withdrawals were only stomach cramps and diarrhea and imodium took care of that. Now I have more withdrawals (I have only been taking the percocet for three months) the worse is the anxiety and goose bump feeling.
772216 tn?1259273237 You might also want to look at what you've been eating and drinking, as foods and beverages can impact your blood pressure and also your heart rate. A lot of "energy drinks" have large amounts of caffeine, which can raise pressure and heart rate, as can coffee and colas (unless they're specified "caffeine-free.") Do you use a lot of salt at the table? Do you eat many salty snack foods like chips, pretzels, etc.?
