Common Questions and Answers about Oxycodone potentiators

oxycontin

Usually I would say that he should be able to taper off the Xanax depending on the dosage he is taking, however, they are also both considered CNS depressants (as are Methadone and Oxycodone) and opioid potentiators, which validate previous comments concerning legitimate lethality of taking benzodiazepines and Opiates concomitantly (depending on the dosages).
The nurse said the 12 hr es are oxycontin, but the bottle reads oxycodone 10 mg...Same thing??? Then the new meds read oxycodone 5mg. Is this just the same as the percocet just w/o the tylonel? And what about the hydroxyzine??? I just want to be educated about what exactly I'm taking.... Thanks in advance guys!
Hydrocodone (schedule III, in bulk formulations only containing hydrocodone its schedule II) is a opioid that is a mild potency opioid, in between codeine and oxycodone. Oxycodone (Percocet, Oxycontin, Tylox) is about 50% stronger than hydrocodone , where as hydrocodone is about 50% stronger than codeine.
I have been on oxycodone and oxycontin for 7 years due to compressed and herniated disks. I started at 5mg 4x per day. After all these years I am up yo 15mg oxycodone 4x per day and a 30 mg oxycontin at night. This is the 2nd time in 7 years I have found myself to be short before my next perscription by a substantial amount. I went from 90mg/24 hrs. to 30 over the last 4 days with restless legs and anxiety with chest pain. I have been using xanax to settle down and sleep.
tramadol is a unique opioid in that it is not a full on agonist like morphine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, heroin, etc), but has very unique characteristics. it has the potency of a medium dose of codeine(a very mild opiate), but can help people in pain that would normally need a strong opiate, so it definitely is unique and with suboxone it is also unique. as i said iw as on suboxone treatment for 8 months and on 32 mgs a day.
