Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be very painful - however with everything else going on have they suggested any treatment for you? I would recommend making an appt with your doctor or even a second opinion to see what all is going on. In the meantime, one thing you can do is start keeping a journal of al of your symptoms. Be as specific as possible about what cycle day you are on, pain level, what the pain feels like, how long it lasts and what you do/take for it, and where the pain is.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.
Avatar n tn But, ovarian cysts at any age can change your hormones and cause these types of symptoms. Unfortunately, no two ovarian cysts show themselves in the same way. So, it is hard to say without having tests to rule out all other causes. In general the list of symptoms you describe sound like they could be related to menopause. But, if you are under 45, then that is less likely. I think you should definitely see your gyn and have some tests to determine the cause. Welcome to the forum!
906877 tn?1335122417 I am due to have cysts removed on tues next week, i read alot of people on here talk about IBS type symptoms being linked with this, is this right?? Can ovarian cysts cause stomach aches etc because if they do then it would explain alot!!!!!! Many thanks, Claire.
Avatar f tn I have been dealing with Ovarian Cysts of and on for the past 5 years. They topically just come and go never have I been in pain from them and the never got any bigger than a centimeter. I just had an ultra sound that showed a large black mass attached to my right ovary. I have an IUD in place and for the past month I have had abdominal pain ranging from sever to managable. I also have bouts of nausea and constipation.
Avatar f tn I found out I have an ovarian cyst on my right side. Can ovarian cysts cause loose bowels or the feeling to having to go to the bathroom after I eat something or drink coffee or are they 2 separate things? We have started to eat healthier so I'm not eating junk food. But I find that when I eat something, my right side aches and the feeling of having to go to the bathroom happens. Anyone experience this or have any answers?? Thanks!
Avatar n tn OVCA can only be diagnosed via biopsy. The symptoms of OVCA are much the same as ovarian cysts. Take a look at the health pages and the info on types and symptoms of cysts. Do follow up with your gyn. Good luck!
Avatar f tn ve also had chronic ovarian cysts, chronic pelvic and abdominal pain, loooong periods (13 days), constipation since january which has recently turned into constipation/loose stools since taking miralax, back pain, leg and hip pain, side pain, serious fatigue, pelvic pain, and swollen belly. Sometimes nauseous, sometimes have acid reflux like symptoms. Have had pelvic ultrasound and topical ultrasound, both normal they say. CT scan said fluid in pelvis and enlarged ovairies week before.
Avatar m tn I have read on ovarian cysts and symptoms and was just curious for real women to describe what symptoms they have had? For me I really never paid attention to most of them. My main symptom was Menstrual irregularities. Now that it is my 2nd round with the cysts I am more aware of these symptoms. Now I feel the pelvic pain, nausea, bloating, difficulty with urinating, and I feel exhausted all the time. Does anyone else experience that?
579959 tn?1218310678 Yes, your cyst definitely causes those symptoms. Remember that over 95% of all cysts are benign. There is some good information on cysts on the health pages attached to this page (top right). It is possible that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum but that is a good thing as all of us there have had a lot of experience with cysts whereas not everyone with Ovarian Cancer has.
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar n tn A cyst can cause all of the above symptoms you posted, 98% of all cysts are benign, Have your sister telll the doctor to rule out Ovarian cancer. Have her be very proactive about this. Good Luck and come back and let us know.
Avatar f tn What is the symptoms of ovarian cysts? i'm having a scan next week on my ovary's because the doctor wants to test for them.
Avatar f tn On the ovarian cysts forum, there may be more of us dealing with those kinds of things. Do the doctors say if the cysts are complex or functional?
Avatar m tn I feel a complete idiot, but i never thought to mention the constipation/bloating/back pain to my OBGYN, as i was thinking of going to a gastroenologist to see if i was having some digestion issues, but then yesterday i started looking further into my symptoms, and i have every symptom of ovarian cancer. I am in no way saying i have cancer, but i do have symptoms that are very worrisome to me.
Avatar f tn I have all the symptoms of ovarian cancer and this past friday I went for a transvaginal ultrasound and an enlarged cyst was found on my right ovary that is painful. The lady doing the ultrasound said it wasn't really a small one either... I have been on birth control for 5 years now and b/c is supposed to prevent functional cysts. I have had all the symptoms of ovca for over a year now just getting worse as time goes by so the cyst has been there for a while.
Avatar n tn m 37, 4 kids, have been having some crazy symptoms and have been looking at so much info online about of fibroids, ovarian cysts, and ovarian cancer. All of these seem to have very similar symptoms. Obviously,I should just go to the doctor, but I'm worried and would like to know anyone elses opinion on this. Ex : Is there any specific symptom out there that I'll know is a huge red flag for cancer?
Avatar n tn Sounds like all the symptoms of an ovarian cyst to me! The cyst could be resting on a nerve causing all of your hip pain. Mine would be so bad, I would have trouble getting out of my chair! It would take a bit to straighten back up! Although 99% of cysts are benign, the only true dx is pathology. Remember, Pain is not an option. Keep on your dr. until this is resolved. Keep up posted!
Avatar f tn bloating, constipation, headaches, right side gripping and stabbing pain with pelvic, groin, leg and back pain as well, nausea, lack of appetite, emotions everywhere, sore breasts, pain with sex, fatigue and weakness.
Avatar f tn First of all, a little background information... I've just been told I have an ovarian cyst. I've seen my regular doctor twice complaining of abdominal pain, back pain, constipation, pain with sex, and changes in my periods (among other things that led us to investigate my thyroid). After thyroid levels came back within normal range twice, he presumed my symptoms stress or diet related.
