Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a fibroid the size of a grapefruit and it is pressing on my bladder. I also found out that I have an ovarian cyst. I have been in extreme pain for the last 2 weeks. But then my pain got alot better overnight. I started feeling nauseated and throwing up. Does one have to do with the other?
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be very painful - however with everything else going on have they suggested any treatment for you? I would recommend making an appt with your doctor or even a second opinion to see what all is going on. In the meantime, one thing you can do is start keeping a journal of al of your symptoms. Be as specific as possible about what cycle day you are on, pain level, what the pain feels like, how long it lasts and what you do/take for it, and where the pain is.

Avatar n tn My mother passed away in 2003 from complications of ovarian cancer. About a year ago I started to have low abdominal pain and not with my period, which is also wierd. At first it began were I would only have the pain once in a while, now I am have the pain every day almost. I told my Doctor about this pain and described it to her like I was ovulating, but since I am on the pill this should not be happening and she basically shrugged it off.
Avatar n tn Almost all your symptoms are indicative of ovarian cysts. I had the water retention, back pain, abdominal bloating (looked 6 months pregnant), urination urgency, gas and bowel changes. Many women have changes in their cycles, pain with sex and other hormonal changes. SIBO can cause some of the abdominal issues but not the others. You know your body. Insist that they rule out ovarian cancer. Keep in mind that over 95% of all cysts are benign but you need to be sure.
1503875 tn?1290902087 Last monday I went to the emergency room for severe abdominal pain which the ER dr said was burst ovarian cysts. Since that time I have lower back pain (lower back pain for over 6 months intermittently), intermittent stabbing pains in my lower abdomen, thigh pains, bloating, indigestion, gas, frequent urination, feelings of pain in my ovaries every time I need to pee, uncomfortable fullness every time I try to eat, I feel so stuffed with any little meal and transient nausea.
Avatar f tn Take heart in knowing that the symptoms for ovarian cysts and those for ovarian cancer are very similiar. Take a look at the health pages (top right). Arrange for abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds to see if you have another cyst. The odds are tremendously in your favor that this isn't cancer but in some cases they can't be sure until the cyst is removed. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cysts cause extreme fatigue? I have for cysts. One of them is a complex cyst measuring 4cm. I have had them for at least a year and being treated with birth control. I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep!
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
94365 tn?1216087160 due to excessive abdominal pain, the result was 6 abdominal adhesions that were removed. In 2007 I was having abdominal pain and after ultrasounds and scans was advised of polycystic ovaries,, I was also advised that there was a cyst on my left ovary that was 3 1/2 cm and one on my right ovary that was 2cm , the result was removal of the left ovary and fallopian tube and removal of the cyst that was on my right ovary.
148258 tn?1220825817 t the extreme bloating and cramping/pain sound much more like ovarian cancer than ovarian small ovarian cysts? I read that in order for ovarian cysts to even cause swelling and bloating they would have to be relatively large.....and I also read that the abdominal swelling is one of the major symptoms of ovarian cancer. I guess my biggest fear is that I'm going to get one of those idiot doctors that tells you everything is fine...
Avatar f tn Hello, The various possibilities which present with such pain in the right abdomen are appendicitis, Crohn’s disease, bowel obstruction, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome, kidney obstruction or pyelonephritis or gall bladder disease causing referred pain. Investigations like ultrasound abdomen, CT abdomen and colonoscopy are required to confirm a diagnosis. My advice is to consult a gastroenterologist and discuss these possibilities with him.
Avatar f tn I'm not an expert but it does look like she has two ovarian cysts with one being a dermoid cyst. These can cause a lot of symptoms and hopefully she is now set to get this dealt with. Do take a look at the health pages (top right) for info on types of cysts and symptoms. In her case it is likely they will use a laparoscope and remove the cysts. What did they say the next steps were? It is likely that MedHelp will move your posting to the Ovarian Cyst forum.
Avatar n tn I have a history of ovarian cysts that my doctors claim are the result of my abdominal pain. I first experienced severe abdominal pain around March 2009 that caused me to go to the ER. I would get this sudden sharp pain in the lower right side of my abdomen that would intensify at different times. My stomach also felt completely bloated and full. Even though I had not eaten anything because I had no appetite. They thought it might be my appendix so they ran several tests and did a CT scan.
Avatar m tn Erm I just got told hemaroid? I think! They're not doing anything apart from monitoring it but I can't explain the horrendous pain I'm in when I get one if my pains! It needs sorting but I don't know what todo next!
Avatar f tn Yes, a cyst can cause all of those symptoms. Do ensure you find out what kind of cyst it is as that will affect your treatment.
Avatar f tn I was in the ER for severe abdominal pain that made me double over every time I ate. I've lost several pounds in the last month from subsisting on as little food as possible to avoid the pain. The ER doc ordered a CT and subsequent US, which showed a 5-cm complex cyst with multiple septa on my left ovary. I am 40 and had my right ovary removed when I was 22 and a partial hysterectomy at 26. A CT scan 1 year ago was completely clear, so this cyst has developed in 12 months or less.
Avatar f tn I have had ovarian cysts in the past. I also have gi symptoms including alot of gas, and some pain under my breasts, upper rib cage. I don't have any bloating, or increased abdominal size. I recently had a colonoscopy which was normal. The dr is sending me for a cat scan to check for kidney stones and ovarian cysts. I am very worried this could be ovarian cancer. I have afamily history of colon cancer (father). Am i being irrational, or should I be very worried?
Avatar n tn The pain I got with my dermoid cyst was sudden and didn't relent, but different people experience different types of pains. It could very well be. If this pain gets worse, please go to the ER. Your pain is on your lower right abdomen, which is also where the appendix is. If you're running a temperature in addition to all this, I wouldn't delay getting looked at.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Ovulation is the commonest cause of lower abdominal pain. Few other causes of lower abdominal pain are PIDs,ovarian cysts, fibroids, STIs, RTIs etc.You need to be evaluated for above mentioned conditions. Consult your gynecologist. A clinical examination and tests like pelvic scan, hormonal assay may be helpful. Keep me posted with more queries. Hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
