Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar n tn What you are describing can be symptoms for many things. These can include ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. Since it is pretty rare for women your age to have ovarian cancer and since more than 95% of all cysts are benign let's asssume you are dealing with a cyst. I had all the symptoms you are describing and had benign cysts. You should check out the health pages (top right) and look at the listing for types of cysts and symptoms.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Do ovarian cyst symptoms and ovarian cancer symptoms look the same? I ask because I have the following: -gas -bloat/distended stomach -pressure -changes in BM's (constipation and diarrhea) -get full easily after eating -tired/fatigues -heartburn/indigestion -changes in menstruation Thank you.
Avatar f tn I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep! Is anyone else experiencing fatigue... similar symptoms?

Avatar n tn She is now 16 and had to go to the emergency room last weekend for abdominal pain and other symptons. They did an MRI and found an ovarian cyst(s). Is is possible that this HPV Vaccine caused this?
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts can affect hormones so can cause menstrual cycle changes but yours seem extreme for ovarian cysts. Ovarian cysts are common and usually resolve on their own. Do you know the size of the one(s) you have? As far as family history of cancers, does that include any Gyn cancers especially ovarian cancer? I don't think there's any correlation between Gyn cancers and other types except in the case of Lynch Syndrome which is associated with colon, endometrial and ovarian cancer.
Avatar f tn After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?
Avatar n tn t usually acknowledge that small cysts can contribute to back pain. But, there are many women who have had small cysts and do have pain. I think it can contribute to it. I have noticed that when I have had cysts, that my body feels pressure on one side. This pressure can cause you to change your posture which can aggravate other back conditions. If you have a condition like endometriosis, the cyst and back pain may be related to that one condition.
256161 tn?1196879046 i will get to see one when my tax return comes back, but I have to suck it up till then. I am in so much pain and having some sort of relapse of symptoms. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this for me. Thanks again!
Avatar f tn Is there any correlation between the size of your cyst and the type/amount of symptoms you experience? I ask because from all that I've read on here and everywhere else, many here seem to have bigger cysts than myself (as of last U/S, my cyst was 1.9cm). Now it could have grown in the last few months, but I won't know for sure until my next U/S in December. After 2 U/S the cysts has stayed the same.
Avatar n tn I went to the Dr because I was also experiencing a bit of indigestion and nausea. I mentioned the mid monthly pain and some vague back aches I've been getting. He suggested that I have a scan although he's doubtful they'll find anything. I guess I am worried about Ov Ca (there is a pretty serious advertising campaign on ov ca here at the moment and I feel like I've got most of the symptoms!).
Avatar f tn before your lap procedure did he do ultrasounds and find anything? Your symptoms sound like classic ovarian cyst symptoms. seems like it would have been typical to do ultrasounds prior to cutting?
1148191 tn?1271817646 m having pregnancy symptoms that I could still be pregnant. And can ovarian cysts cause a missed period making me think that I am pregnant? I don't normally have any PMS symptoms except cramping the day of my period.
Avatar n tn My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts? How long does it take for birth control to show progress in pain and resolution of ovarian cysts?
Avatar f tn ve lost several pounds in the last month from subsisting on as little food as possible to avoid the pain. The ER doc ordered a CT and subsequent US, which showed a 5-cm complex cyst with multiple septa on my left ovary. I am 40 and had my right ovary removed when I was 22 and a partial hysterectomy at 26. A CT scan 1 year ago was completely clear, so this cyst has developed in 12 months or less.
Avatar n tn I was treated by IV for pain and antibiotics, given prescriptions and I followed up with my personal MD. I am concerned about a relapse. I had my menstrual cycle 5 days after the cyst was diagnosed, and I had to take a prescription pain med to get over the burning pain in the ovarian area. I was doubled over in pain and vomiting from it. Is this going to happen every month, and will I also be at risk for colon infection if the cysts keep appearing outside the normal monthly cycles?
Avatar n tn Common things being common, fibroids, which are benign muscle growths of the wall of the uterus, can give you pain and heavy bleeding. Ovarian cysts can be related to ovulation, or benign growths, endometriosis and so on. To sort that out, usually repeat scans are obtained over 3 to 6 months to see dynamically how the cysts come and go. Depending on your age, birth contorl pills are commonly tried to control heavy bleeding and pain.
Avatar n tn There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!
Avatar n tn There is a condition that is called Polycystic ovarian syndrome with symptoms including irregular periods, multiple ovarian cysts as well as other symptoms. You may want to have that checked out as a possibility when you consult with the new doctor, which is an excellent idea. There is also a board here on MH for that condition that you may want to take a look at or post on, someone may be able to give you more info about this condition so you can have that knowledge when you go to the new gyn.
Avatar f tn If there was no mass seen in the sonogram, chances are they will not find one in the CT Scan....the pain cold be from functional cysts, and that could have been what the doctor felt and by the time the sono was done, it resolved. Functional cysts are very common in women that are still menstruating. The pain could be the cysts popping. They will also produce neausea, etc......if you hurt that bad, go to the Emergency , they will most likely do a CT Scan.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me i had sciatica in my left leg, and that it would go after 3 or 4 weeks on its own, but it hasnt, and im starting to think my symptoms are maybe that of a cyst/cysts on my ovary. I had the Depo-Provera contraception injection in january, and since that, my symptoms have become alot worse, and ive suffered with persistent bloating and weight gain. But im still unsure as this could be water retention due to the injection.
