Avatar f tn I need help for my cousin she has a peptic ulcer I gave her two geltazine but still she is suffering pain what should I do to make her better?
Avatar n tn You're incorrect. Omeprazole isn't a definitive treatment for peptic ulcers in that it won't correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
Avatar m tn The pain which you suffered is probably due to some acute gastritis/peptic ulcer pain which typically occurs in the night and is usually associated with nausea. If you take some antacids/omeprazole/pantoprazole, you’ll be fine. Please consult gastroenterologist/physician and you may need an endoscopy in case the symptoms recur on regular basis, otherwise a short course of anti-ulcer drugs should be fine. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.
1364792 tn?1278051187 Omeprazole is an H2 blocker. It is helpful, but not the big guns for acid reflux that could be harmful. Omeprazole is available OTC. Some H2 blockers are also used as supplement antihistamines for people who have a hard time controlling allergies. OH, not acid reflux presents with the typical heart burn symptoms. Some people reflux higher and it does burn the esophagus in that way. Feel better.
Avatar m tn May it be Acute Gastritis or Acid Peptic Disease or Peptic Ulcer, all of these conditions present with more or the less the same symptoms, change in the pattern of symptoms and severity, while having an association with H.Pylori.Such conditions may start as a symptoms which may get converted to other condition if not adequately managed.
1747349 tn?1332683680 pylori is detected in patients with a peptic ulcer, the normal procedure is to eradicate it and allow the ulcer to heal. The standard first-line therapy is a one week "triple therapy" consisting of proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole, lansoprazole and the antibiotics clarithromycin and amoxicillin.
Avatar f tn Almost 4 years ago I had a peptic ulcer. It was rather small. My gastro doctor did a follow up endoscopy about 8 weeks later and all was clear. I was using omeprazole to clear the ulcer. Lumpy throat (on and off) very short like pinch sensation lower esophagus (on and off) Upper abdominal stomach "raw" type ache on the left and right side - happened twice recently. Occasional heartburn and really bad foul smelling flatulence.
Avatar f tn I was diagnoesd with the gastritis last year via physical exam according to my symstoms like bloating and stomach pain never don an endoscopy i was on and off for PPI (omeprazole and pantoprazole) but never get healed.. Then after that my gp ask for ultrasounds scan and they found multiple stone.. But a bit curios my stomach symptoms are differnt fron gallstone symptoms normally gallstone symptoms are pain in right under the ribcage which is never had that pain..
Avatar m tn A peptic ulcer is usually sores on the inside of your stomach or small intestines. This is what you are talking about? Or do you have sores on your mouth? Either way, neither is a risk for HIV transmission. Kissing is not a way that people get HIV. HIV in adults is transmitted by penetrating, unprotected vaginal or anal sex or sharing IV drug needles. That is really it. Saliva and air inactivate the virus so kissing is not a means of transmission.
1709162 tn?1314084832 I have had stomach cramps, constant burning in my upper abdomen and chest and diarrhoea. I was on omeprazole but had to stop as having an endoscopy done on the 19th. The pain is radiating to my neck and shoulders and I feel very lethargic Has anyone got any ideas of what is happening or anything to alleviate the pain Any comments would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn h-pylori drugs have many sides, even fatal on liver, i took them too but i suggest to take them the shortest time possible and try to stop them to see if all the damage is you feel is due to these drugs you may also use alinia+other h-pylori drugs to boost response and clear pylori fast, i remember i just took 2 antibiotics+omeprazole for about 3 weeks to clear it Omeprazole can cause some very serious, even fatal conditions associated with the liver.
Avatar f tn org/diseases-conditions/peptic-ulcer/symptoms-causes/syc-20354223. I suffered my first ulcer for several months before it was found on endoscopy and then I drank a chalky liquid for two days and felt better. So, it can be a quick recovery if this is the situation for you. Do you take a lot of nsaids by the way?
3099520 tn?1341194531 This has been happening for the past few days, and last week i had constant nausea. What could this be, peptic ulcer? gastrointestinal problem? With my anxiety problem, these symptoms usually trigger a mild panic attack, so any answers would really help, thank you!
Avatar f tn Hi, dyspepsia is a vague discomfort in the upper abdomen or chest that may be described as gas,a feeling of fullness, gnawing,or burning. This can occur with peptic ulcer disease. Peptic ulcer pain is usually a burning pain. They commonly occur in the stomach and duodenum. Stomach ulcers cause pain on eating and duodenal ulcers cause pain on fasting (2-3 hrs after eating). Peptic ulcers are eroded areas in the lining of the digestive tract usually in the stomach and duodenum.
Avatar m tn This could indeed be due to acid peptic disorders such as peptic ulcer or GERD. Reflux usually presents with retrosternal burning discomfort, acid regurgitation and symptoms often occur after meals. While peptic ulcer presents with pain centered in the upper abdomen or discomfort characterized by fullness, bloating, distention, or nausea. Symptoms may be present before or after a meal depending on the location of the ulcer.
Avatar f tn In reviewing my medical records from my gastroenterologist it seems they keep bouncing between a diagnoses of "non ulcer dyspepsia" and "peptic ulcer disease". The non ulcer dyspepsia is a fancy term for ulcer like stomach pain without an ulcer and no clear cause. Then I occasionally do show up with peptic ulcers, which I thought were from accidentally taking a migraine medication that had aspirin in it...but I've never been checked for the pylori bacteria.
Avatar m tn Hello, The pain and discomfort in the lower left part of the stomach could be due to peptic ulcer disease. Peptic ulcer pain is usually a burning pain. Peptic ulcers are eroded areas in the lining of the digestive tract usually in the stomach and duodenum.
Avatar m tn Not sure about the ulcer....but I do know it can take time to heal after being DX'd with H. Pylori....
Avatar f tn For almost 10 years since the age of 16 I have been experiencing heartburn type symptoms. I've had numerous doctors tell me it could be heartburn, hiatal hernia, and/or a peptic ulcer. I have an appointment for an endoscopy coming up to figure out the exact cause. I've been prescribed omeprazole 20mg which does not even seem to make any kind of dent in relieving symptoms as well as over the counter medications.
459075 tn?1224121598 Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of dyspepsia. It is due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD),gastritis or peptic ulcer disease. It is usually after eating a heavy fatty meal and sedantry lifestyle. It can also be caused by drinking too much alcohol, prolonged use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin or ibuprofen, or infection with bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). 1449501 tn?1284791872 Abdominal pain is seen in around 2-4 % patients but the cause of such pain is not clear. In rare cases it is known to cause stenosing peptic ulcer and pyloroduodenal obstruction which can present as severe abdominal pain. You may have to undergo endoscopy to rule out peptic ulcer, gastritis etc. Take care and regards.
