I'm 29 years old, with heart disease, a fib, and gerd.
For years I've dealt with this issue, sometimes often, sometimes months apart. Last night I was awoken in severe pain around 3am. The pain is so intense it radiates into my back, up my throat into my jaw and head. It's excruciating pain only slightly helped by drinking ice cold water. I'll continuously keep burping, with an urge to throw up, an intense pressure that my stomach is pushing things up.
Omeprazole is for acid reflux - it shouldn't have any effect on your TSH, and you shouldn't have any side effects from stopping it, other than possibly more acid reflux.
I took Aciphex for many years, then switched to omeprazole, when insurance refused to pay for Aciphex...... had to go to the 40 mg caps for some time. Once my thyroid levels began to come in line, I stopped the omeprazole.......
t go to the ER every time it happens. At home I take omeprazole and a xanax. Usually taking more xanax until I fall asleep because I cannot handle the pain anymore.
I can't keep living like this. Please tell me I'm not alone. Every doctor I've seen just says it's an anxiety attack. I need help please!
I have to wait a month. I am currently prescribed Xanax 3 times a day at 1mg. and Omeprazole for a suspected ulcer. I feel nauseous and sick every morning. My bowels are always soft and rarely formed. I'm scared and wondering if anyone might have other ideas as to what this could be. Thank you in advance.
Based on the information you have provided, I do not think your PVC's are long-standing and benign, although they do cause you significant distress and anxiety. They are unlikely to represent coronary blockages.
My recommendations are: 1. Find a better way to treat your anxiety and panic attacks. Alpraozolam (Xanax) is a short acting benzo with potential for dependence and withdrawal, leaving the patient worse off when not taking xanax.
s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted.
Does anyone have experience with taking this?
I have been on HydroCodone-Acetaminophen 10-325 for about four months for severe back pain due to osteo-arthritis and bulging disks, etc. in my spine. I started out taking two pills a day - one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. I decided to reduce the dosage as I had a dreadful withdrawal about a year ago while on Oxycontin. Is it possible to feel symptoms after cutting out one pill a day?
At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I have GERD and a hiatal hernia and have been taking omeprazole twice a day every day for a few months (I had been on Prevacid for several years before the omeprazole but insurance won't cover it any more). If your main symptom is burping, I would try going off of the omeprazole and switching to gas-x or some other type of gas relief medicine. As long as you aren't having a lot of problems with heartburn or acid reflux, you would probably be fine to discontinue using the omeprazole.
Hi. I am taking omeprazole for laryngopharyngeal reflux for the past 2 days. I am supposed to take two pills daily, one before breakfast and one before dinner. Today, i started having this feeling that food is stuck in my chest and back of my throat but I don't have any problems swallowing. It is an uncomfortable feeling in my chest. I did not have this symptom prior to starting the drug. Is this a side effect of the drug?
Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.
I get up and have 2 or 3 cups of tea with sugar, should wait a 1/2 after taking the medicine before drinking the tea?

I was taking Omeprazole for acid reflux. I was recently going on eight weeks of taking it. I too WAS suffering from dry mouth and tongue and a severe burning sensation in my throat that was getting worse. I feared the worst, waking up with severe dry mouth, panic attacks as to what was happening. I couldnt even make a drop of saliva. I stopped taking the omeprazole last night. For the first time in weeks i slept like a baby.

IBgard in the same day. I have GERD.
My 4 year old son has been prescribed 20mg omeprazole for unknown stomach pain. I heard that PPIs such as this can increase the risk of pneumonia and he has a horrible chest cold. cough right now, should I discontinue taking this medication until this passes? Are the chances of it turning into pneumonia greater if he is on omeprazole? Or is this risk factor only for prolong use?
I am feeling very fatigued. I have had a feeling of flutters in my lower and upper abdomin. Nausea off and on but no vomiting. My throat feels scratchy like when catching a cold and I have a non-productive cough. I am really dizzy when sitting or standing after lying down. Breathing seems labored at times but not short of breath. I am taking omniprazole(sp). Should I be concerned about this? I had biopsy which was negative for malignacy but shows mild chronic esophagitis.
