About a year ago, I switched to Nuvaring from the pill. When I started dating my boyfriend, whom I am still dating today, I was on the pill. I switched to the Nuvaring because I thought that it was a more reliable option for me because I would always forget to take the pill. About 5 months after starting to use Nuvaring, things began to change between us. We still love each other very much but he gets a weird feeling like he isn't supposed to be with me.
I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.
Well I started the Nuvaring on the 17th of February... the first day of my period which is what the doctor told me to do. Its now the 8th of March and Im still bleeding. Very lightly, but its enough to have me wear a liner every single day. Last night I woke up feeling extremely sick. Today, this morning, I started vomiting. Could I be pregnant? Is there a chance? Its so confusing because there have been so many women who have gotten pregnant while using a birth control contraceptive.
Toward the end of July I took out my Nuvaring and discontinued my use of it because of all the side affects that I have recently become aware of. I am not on any other type of BC at the moment but for the last week or more my nipples have been EXTREMELY sore..so sore that a touch makes me cringe and back away immediately. After removing the Nuvaring, I got my period from July 29th-Aug 1 so I am due to get it again in about a week.
s more like a watered down blood . is this normal ? what are the chances if me getting pregnant ? should I go get a plan b pill ?
And i read about treatments and diferent kind of birth control. And it has complications with the condition. Wich pill is the best. Wich treatment is the best.
i had an intercourse wih my partner on the 7th may and took a pill after. we had unprotected sex a week after and i was on my period. i took an i pill but my periods seems to have stopped.
I'm thinking IUD Mirena since we have the two we always said 2 would be it but my dr doesn't do tubals on people my age (23) as she says if I decide to have a 3rd the reversal isn't usually covered by insurance and is pretty pricey and if the father and I split up and I decide to start a family with someone else then same problem.
I've had pills and nuvaring. I'm in the same boat as you. I forgot pills. I'm scared the shot will make me gain weight. I'm allergic to latex so can't use the patch. My doctor won't do IUDs for personal reasons which I agree with. My coworker got the implanon and she is allergic to it and itches like crazy and she said it really hurts. I think I'll end up going back on nuvaring. I didn't gain weight.
What I would like to know is whether the nuva ring is more likely to cause negative emotional side effects than the pill is. I have heard mixed reviews, some people emotionally crash on it and others notice nothing; is this just something I am going to have to buckle down and test for a month? If so, how do I monitor my own side effects to decide if it is having a negative effect on me?
hello, the same thing just happend to me - I thought I would have my period and started with hormonal contraception (I don´t take the pill but the NuvaRing). Now I realized that it wasn´t my period at all and I didn´t got my period since I started taking the NuvaRing (1 week ago).
My questio is: how about birth-control?? will I now need to use another contraception-method or does hormonal contraception also work when you start taking it without having your period?
I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. that helped me.. then they switched me to the patch. I did not like that one at all. then they put me on the Nuvaring. I didn't like that one either because sometimes it would fall out or not fall out it would move and I could feel it and I have to go to the bathroom and fix it. so I would say Ortho Tri Cyclen. but everybody has their own opinions.
I started Nuvaring September the 18th of this year and I did not have sex till October 1st but me and my partner didn't use a condom and he came inside me, do I have to use a contraception pill or will I be okay?
I just decided to get on birth control & my Dr. has put me on Nuvaring. I was using condoms before & just got tired of them. I have now been using Nuvaring for a little over a week now, & am currently not taking any other drugs (just on the ring). Everything has been fine until today... I am now experiencing chest pain. I do not have a family history of any blood clotting issues, but I am concerned because I have read some of the horror stories on-line.
So when my boyfriend and I have sex it hurts. At first it hurt just in certian positions, now it hurts all the time. It's a burning/stinging sort of hurt and I was wondering if the NuvaRing caused a rash in my vagina. I've been using the NuvaRing for about 8 months now so I don't know why I'd be having a reaction to it now..
I loved the nuvaring! But I have visual migraines that cause me to. E on a low estrogen kind of birth control, so it was that, pill, arm implant, or iud. I did the pill for a while, but I'm not responsible enough to take it daily at the same time.
Im on the NuvaRing..and i never use to smell like fish but now that im using it i smell....can any one help me is this normal..??
Am I even protected at all? I have been on the pill for 10 years and after hearing this, I immediately called my gynecologist to discuss other options. She told me that the oral pill would metabolize through the liver much faster on Modafinil and so she put me on the Nuvaring. (I thought that would be metabolized the same way- but I’m no doctor)! I just went to get a new Nuvaring at my pharmacy and the pharmacist told me the same thing, that Modafinil will affect my birth control.
