Nuvaring no period

Common Questions and Answers about Nuvaring no period

nuvaring

I literally just finished my first period with the nuvaring yesterday. I switched from depo so this was my first period in months. My period was exactly like when I was on the pill a couple years ago. I broke out in acne, and I had no cramps. I spotted for two days. Then my period became very heavy for 5 days. Then I put the new ring while on my period like your supposed to and I still bled for two more days. It was a liggt period though.
I used the nuvaring for 2 months, i never had any pain, no headaches, no periods. But I was just not myslef, i was mean to everyone, I was tired all the time, I never wanted sex. So i took it out and stopped using it. ( i had a tubal 5 years ago, so i didnt need it for that) I am on my second period since taking it out. Im on day 8 now, and in the past 8 days 7 of those included the dang headache! now I just called and asked for another nuvaring.
my doctor told me I was suppose to wait 7 days before the nuvaring can take effect after I inserted the nuvaring on the 4th day of my period.. I had sex with my boyfriend on two of the days before the 7 days were up.. but we did the pull out method. I have an ovulation calender on my phone and it said that I would ovulate a couple days after the 7th day was up.. do I have anything to worry about still if I didnt ovulate during the time I had sex?
Hi I've been using the nuvaring for years, but tried for the first time to skip a period. I skipped one period successfully but on the following period I tried to skip, I mistakingly left the ring for 4 weeks instead of 3 and immediately inserted a new ring. now I recognize my mistake. I have been spotting for the past 2 weeks! my periods are usually very short and regular so this is extremely long, and seems to never end! How do I stop the bleeding?
so I've done the three week cycle with nuvaring once and i took it out and had my period for a week. My period ended yesterday and i put my new nuvaring in today. I remember my doctor telling me that when i first used nuvaring that i needed to wait a month for it to work like with no condom, and so now that i put a new one in, do i need to wait a month again till i have unprotected sex or do i not need to wait at all?
In may i ended up having 2 periods one the 3rd and one on the 23rd. On June 15th still no June period I put the nuvaring back in and on the 18th, 20th and couple days following i had sex with no condom and he didnt pull out either. Its July 3rd and my question is it the nuvaring that is stalling my period now because i inserted it on the 15th or is there a chance im pregnant. i removed the nuvaring yesterday and am waiting for a period to come if any at all.
negative. took another one today, same result. have to reinsert in 4 days and still haven't started a period!
You started nuvaring, it can take a few days for your period to start especially when your on yo ur first mornth of nuvaring. It takes 3 months for your body to regulate hormones. now if you had unprotected sex within the first week of being on nuvaring (if you hadn't been on another birth control method before) then it's possible to get pregnant. I was on nuvaring for 3 months and had no issues with it.
You might want to post this on the sexual health forum. You would get more responses. I am sorry I am unable to help you as I know nothing about it.
I just started nuvaring on the 5th day after my period ended (December 30th). I know that you must use a back-up method for a minimum of 7 days. My fiance and I had unprotected sex on December 31st and again on January 1st. I read that it would be too soon for me to be ovulating (January 5th through the 10th is what I researched through an ovluation calendar).I have had cramping in my left side, but I believe that it is absolutely too early to have any signs of pregnancy.
I took my nuvaring out when I was supposed to, had my normal period that I'm supposed to. I was wondering how long it would take for the hormones to get completely out of my system? We were thinking of trying by the end of the summer.
What are your opinions/experiences on nuvaring? I'm really skeptical because idk all the side effects but I know it would be best to get some form of birth control.
well i'm planning to start nuvaring after my period maybe two weeks from now and i need some opinion from you guyz what is your experience on nuvaring...i recently used the pill but my mom found out and she took all of it..by the way i'm already 18 and i believe i do have rights so i choose nuvaring because it is more descrete than the pill...any opinions from you guys?
I'm 19 years old and have been on the nuvaring for 2 years now. I always use it as directed but lately I have been feeling a little off. My boyfriend and I don't use condoms and sometimes he doesn't pull out. My ring comes out sometimes but I always put it right back in within an hour. A few weeks ago after intercourse I noticed some bleeding which lasted for 3 days after. I never get spotting in between periods so I thought it was really weird.
I used several kinds of birth control pills for five years, and then most recently on nuvaring for about a year. I stopped using the ring 2 months ago, and have not tested positive yet. I've had some light sporratic spotting (about a week before and a week after my period). It's just enough to see it when I wipe myself. When do most people return to a nomal cycle after using nuvaring? Is the spotting something I should worry about??
I am suppose to start back up on the nuvaring this week but the past few weeks i have been nauseas, fatigued, and have no appetite. I had unprotected sex right before and during my period. Could I be pregnant or is it okay for me to go back on the ring.
You may not have a period but you may experience breakthrough spotting or bleeding. 2. Have your period and insert a new ring no later than 7 days from the time the previous ring was removed or expelled. This option should be chosen only if the ring was used continuously for the preceding 7 days. In addition, you must use a barrier method (such as condoms or spermicide) until you have used nuvaring for 7 days in a row.
I normally have this type of blood at the beginning of my period. I experienced this while the nuvaring was still in, but thought it was just breakthrough bleeding. I went home on break and checked my calendar and realized i should have taken the nuvaring out the day before. I took the ring i had in out, and went back to work for four hours until i could pick up my new nuvaring at the pharmacy after work.
I was on the nuvaring before when I take it out it gives me a pretend period and I am in pain until I put a new ring back in a week later. It is the only birth control that doesn't mess with my lupus. I have an appointment with a dr tomorrow had to file complaints and now I have an appoinment. I'm loosing faith in Dr's.
In may i ended up having 2 periods one the 3rd and one on the 23rd. On June 15th still no June period I put the nuvaring back in and on the 18th, 20th and couple days following i had sex with no condom and he didnt pull out either. Hi there, nuvaring provides a regular menstrual period, but menses are usually lighter and may be shorter than a normal period. There may be spotting and midcycle bleeding in few women. You should consult a doctor and discuss your doubts. You may need evaluation for no periods since 3 months. Do keep me posted. Best luck and regards!
Are you sure you were supposed to start nuvaring on the first day of your period? I ask because Im on nuvaring and was directed to put it in the Sunday AFTER the first day of my period. Then leave it in for 3 weeks and take it out on Sunday and leave it out until the following Sunday.
I started nuvaring on Monday the 17th of August on the first day of my period which came 2 days early. I continued it for the next few weeks and spotted moderately the whole time. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend on Wed the 2nd of Sept which would have been day 16 on the ring. He also withdrew.
I recently stopped using nuvaring after about 11 months. Over the last month I have gained about 6 pounds with no change in my diet and a big increase in my exercise. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, everytime I get on the scale, I have gained more weight! now, today, I got my 1st "non-BC" period and it is extremely heavy, which is very unusual for me. Has anyone else had weight gain issues after stopping BC? If so, how long did it take for those issues to resolve?
Hello. I haven't been off birth control for almost a year and a half now (mostly because I couldn't afford it). However, a few months ago I finally decided to make birth control a priority and got a prescription for a nuvaring. I loved it because I'm the type of person who'd most likely forget to take a pill one day or even two... but I digress. On beginning the nuvaring, the instructions state that, if inserted on the first day you'd have instant protection.
Hi my name is Amber I have been on the nuvaring for about 7 years now and I am a very regular person my last period ended September 27th and my next period was suppose to start October 23rd as I am doing the 28 days cycle but on the 23rd all I got was this brown discharge and well that was it I took a test it was negative by the 26th there was maybe a little more brown discharge but that was it, I didn't know what to do I didn't want to put my nuvaring in and mess up anything so I called my doct
