nuvaring and your period

Lexi is nine months old now, and I quit birth control three or four months ago because I tried the NuvaRing and hated it (my cervix was really low when I put it in, and it made it uncomfortable). This month I had spotting at ovulation, and I didn't think anything of it until DH told me that the condom had broke two days before the spotting started. At 8 dpo I started spotting and have been spotting brown and red ever since.

About a week ago I was diagnosed with an ovarian cysts, and I was told it may make me miss my period. Unfortunately, I had been planning on starting the nuvaring this cycle on the first day of my period. Can I still use the nuvaring even though it is passed the first day of my cycle?

But it was fine for 4 months and the last 3 periods were only spotting and for 2 days. It just stopped by its self. I think I'll test again at eh next "period" and see.

ve started voltrex and Tylenol 3s for the pain. The outbreak started mid period. I am supposed to be inserting a new nuvaring in a few days. Sadly the outbreak will not be over. I'm concerned that inserting the ring will allow the virus access to the inside of my vagina. Currently the sores are all external. I will have to touch the sores to be able to effectively insert the nuvaring. Is it safe to do so mid-outbreak or should i wait a few weeks until it clears up.

I had sex fathers day and the 29th and the condom broke but i hav the nuva ring and i got my period but its lasts 3-4 days well i put nuvaring back in on july 5th then had unprotected sex (pull out) on the 7th of july i feel different always hungry n and expect period in a wk wen can i test or how do i kno for sure if test is negative could it be from nuvaring because with my 2yo i had missed period n tested negative

The cramps could be because of the Nuvaring. Remember that you're putting a foreign object in to your body so your body could react to that by cramping. Since it's so close to your period the cramps might be because you're getting ready to start. I recommend you see your gynecologist to tell him/her what happened. They might want to do a blood test to see if you're pregnant. Blood tests can detect very early pregnancies.

You started Nuvaring, it can take a few days for your period to start especially when your on yo ur first mornth of Nuvaring. It takes 3 months for your body to regulate hormones. Now if you had unprotected sex within the first week of being on nuvaring (if you hadn't been on another birth control method before) then it's possible to get pregnant. I was on Nuvaring for 3 months and had no issues with it.

3 months ago I switched to Nuvaring from the pill. Hubby and I were going to wait until the spring to start ttc. My dr said I could leave my ring in for 4 weeks to avoid my period so technically I haven't had my period since October 9. I have exactly 1 week until I can either take it out for my period or leave it in to avoid it. I have been bloated and hungry all the time. I guess I should start at the beginning. I was on Nuvaring and was always regular (even when not on BC), I stopped Nuvaring Oct of 2015 due to having bad migraines, my gyn and I wanted to see if it was the cause. Still had them, so in February of 2016 I restarted it. I had a period the last week of Jan (was getting them every 2-3 weeks due to coming off of it). I had it again the week of Feb 2. I had protected sex Feb 5th and was still lightly bleeding then.

I started the NuvaRing for the first time, I inserted 18 days after the start of my period ( or 15 days after the end of my period) and it has been in for 12 days consecutively. Hi board! I had a question for you! I just finished my 3rd month of using the NuvaRing. I recently switched from Yaz that I had been on for years. My question is that my "period" came on the day is usually does (4th day after I take out the ring), and my "period" this time is all very light, brownish discharge! Only a couple of times have I seen a hint of red in the discarge!

Hi there, So I hope someone knows more about this. I'm on the NuvaRing and as it is quite a new thing, my doctor doesn't know it, I find that the instruction booklet and the website both give only very basic information about how it works and it doesn't help me at all when something unusual occurs.

Are you sure you were supposed to start Nuvaring on the first day of your period? I ask because Im on Nuvaring and was directed to put it in the Sunday AFTER the first day of my period. Then leave it in for 3 weeks and take it out on Sunday and leave it out until the following Sunday.

Just a little fyi it takes 30 days for bc pills to actually take effect. The best thing you can do is to just wait and see if you miss your period next mth then take a test. In the mean time if you dont want to get pregnant I would suggest always using condoms along with your bc pills as nothing is 100 % effective in preventing pregnancy.

Should I take my new nuvaring out and try to have a period or just keep it in and wait seven days to have intercourse?

Well this is the second time ive taken my ring out on time and i have a brown period with decent sized clots. Im having normal cramps and back pain but there is very little red blood. is this normal?

especially since you had the sex before you even put it in and the time about 2 weeks after your period would most likely depending on your cycles, put you in a fertile time! good luck and hope things work out for you.

i miscarried at 8 weeks with blighted ovum and after that devestation i used nuvaring again and this time faithfully.......i took out my nuvaring and didnt think much of it until the next day when i started throwing up everywhere! i bought a test for the hell of it and it said PREGNANT! i was in complete shock because i had been on the nuvaring for a while! i used at end of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and found out i was pregnant in october!!!

I would call your doctor and ask them. Also, take a HPT. There's a small chance you could be pregnant. If you used condoms I highly doubt it but if you happen to be pregnant you don't want to put the ring back in and risk harming the fetus in any way. I was on the Nuvaring for 2 years and never had this problem but when I took it out my period started within 2 days. It never took 5 days. I would call your doctor and ask them about that too. Was it a blood clot? Could it have been blocking my cervix and causing my last period to be spotting for the 3 weeks?

I had weird side effects.on it so i switched to NUVARING except now after a month i took it out to start my period and im not starting. Its been six days. I put in a new ring tomorrow but without a period? Iv taken tests and there negative. Has anyone else gone through this with nuvaring?

If you got ur period ur not pregnant unless u just bearly spotted then that could b a possibility. ..

I've been on Nuvaring for 5-6 months now and I've skipped my period for 2 months now but I keep on spotting so I want to have a ring free week where i'll have my period, now that I want to have my period, will I still be protected from pregnancy for my ring free week even though I've been using the nuvaring continuiously to skip my period?
