nuvaring and period

Lexi is nine months old now, and I quit birth control three or four months ago because I tried the NuvaRing and hated it (my cervix was really low when I put it in, and it made it uncomfortable). This month I had spotting at ovulation, and I didn't think anything of it until DH told me that the condom had broke two days before the spotting started. At 8 dpo I started spotting and have been spotting brown and red ever since.

About a week ago I was diagnosed with an ovarian cysts, and I was told it may make me miss my period. Unfortunately, I had been planning on starting the nuvaring this cycle on the first day of my period. Can I still use the nuvaring even though it is passed the first day of my cycle?

But it was fine for 4 months and the last 3 periods were only spotting and for 2 days. It just stopped by its self. I think I'll test again at eh next "period" and see.

ve started voltrex and Tylenol 3s for the pain. The outbreak started mid period. I am supposed to be inserting a new nuvaring in a few days. Sadly the outbreak will not be over. I'm concerned that inserting the ring will allow the virus access to the inside of my vagina. Currently the sores are all external. I will have to touch the sores to be able to effectively insert the nuvaring. Is it safe to do so mid-outbreak or should i wait a few weeks until it clears up.

3 months ago I switched to Nuvaring from the pill. Hubby and I were going to wait until the spring to start ttc. My dr said I could leave my ring in for 4 weeks to avoid my period so technically I haven't had my period since October 9. I have exactly 1 week until I can either take it out for my period or leave it in to avoid it. I have been bloated and hungry all the time. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. I guess I should start at the beginning. I was on Nuvaring and was always regular (even when not on BC), I stopped Nuvaring Oct of 2015 due to having bad migraines, my gyn and I wanted to see if it was the cause. Still had them, so in February of 2016 I restarted it. I had a period the last week of Jan (was getting them every 2-3 weeks due to coming off of it). I had it again the week of Feb 2. I had protected sex Feb 5th and was still lightly bleeding then.

You started Nuvaring, it can take a few days for your period to start especially when your on yo ur first mornth of Nuvaring. It takes 3 months for your body to regulate hormones. Now if you had unprotected sex within the first week of being on nuvaring (if you hadn't been on another birth control method before) then it's possible to get pregnant. I was on Nuvaring for 3 months and had no issues with it.

I had sex while i wasn’t on the NuvaRing but he said he pulled out. I put the NuvaRing in the week I usually get my period so i know I’d go a month without my period. i’m having cramps like period cramps now. Could that be signs of a pregnancy or is that okay?

Should I take my new nuvaring out and try to have a period or just keep it in and wait seven days to have intercourse?

Well this is the second time ive taken my ring out on time and i have a brown period with decent sized clots. Im having normal cramps and back pain but there is very little red blood. is this normal?

i miscarried at 8 weeks with blighted ovum and after that devestation i used nuvaring again and this time faithfully.......i took out my nuvaring and didnt think much of it until the next day when i started throwing up everywhere! i bought a test for the hell of it and it said PREGNANT! i was in complete shock because i had been on the nuvaring for a while! i used at end of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and found out i was pregnant in october!!!

Hi there, So I hope someone knows more about this. I'm on the NuvaRing and as it is quite a new thing, my doctor doesn't know it, I find that the instruction booklet and the website both give only very basic information about how it works and it doesn't help me at all when something unusual occurs.

Was it a blood clot? Could it have been blocking my cervix and causing my last period to be spotting for the 3 weeks?

Hi board! I had a question for you! I just finished my 3rd month of using the NuvaRing. I recently switched from Yaz that I had been on for years. My question is that my "period" came on the day is usually does (4th day after I take out the ring), and my "period" this time is all very light, brownish discharge! Only a couple of times have I seen a hint of red in the discarge!

I didn't put in my nuvaring on the day I was suppose to. I have had unprotected sex on the 6 day before ovulation and 4 days before ovulation. What are my chances of getting pregnant? I'm not going to put my nuvaring in just in case I am. It is too early to take a test so I come here for some answers.

Nuvaring takes a month to be fully effective in your body, and you should have used back up birth control the entire time. Your odds are roughly the same as any other couple trying to concieve. Take a pregnancy test with first morning urine.

I ask because Im on Nuvaring and was directed to put it in the Sunday AFTER the first day of my period. Then leave it in for 3 weeks and take it out on Sunday and leave it out until the following Sunday.

The hormones made my period last till November 3rd.. I took nuvaring out on October 25th because I just didnt like this form of birth control I scheduled an appt with my doctor and she gave me birth control pills am told me to start them Sunday the same day I happened to have ended my period. It could definitely be the hormones in the ring giving you weird symptoms, i however was on the nuvaring. i had a MC and went on the nuvaring right way after it and never got a period and ended up pregnant, so it is possible! especially since you had the sex before you even put it in and the time about 2 weeks after your period would most likely depending on your cycles, put you in a fertile time! good luck and hope things work out for you.
